Peaceful day
[Points: 9,500 remaining]
Morning feels so peaceful today.
There was no clouds in the blue sky.
The wind was gentle and pleasant.
So nostalgic.
It reminds me of those late summer days out in the park playing with my friends.
There was wind like this at that time...
It carries a warmth of summer heat but at the same time the cooling feels in fall.
Even if Leila slacks off in today's morning exercise I won't blame her.
But instead of that, she's been outside since early to work out as I instructed.
Why?
Looking at her status from earlier, I spotted degeneration of muscles.
She has always been put on the bed since forever.
So, as a person who had martial arts training in my younger days, I made an exercising schedule for her.
I've been letting her participating in defeating goblins and intruders.
Her level raised quite a bit, she also gained back some fighting prowess of the proud battle bunny tribe.
And then what happen when she got back a healthy body with well defined curves?
I lost all clues on where the hell am I supposed to place my eyes every time I looked at her. That fluffy round rabbit tail got me every single time...
Luckily I was invisible, or I would have taken a few slaps to my face constantly staring at her butts.
Well, let's cast that aside, it's a peaceful day to enjoy after all.
Being done with showering after exercises, Leila's having breakfast I prepared.
Yep, you guessed it, it's instant noodles.
She just extremely loves that thing.
Though a battle bunny can live to forever eating only carrots, I wouldn't allow something like that.
I mean, each bowl of instant noodle cost me 5P while her existence itself gives me 40P every day. Of course I can afford to let her eat her favorite food...

「Ralph-sama isn't eating again?」
No, I don't need to. I'm not mortal...
「Really? You're not lying?」
Ehh...why do you have to squint your eyes suspiciously at me like that?
I'm currently lying on my comfy bed inside the idol, which is being placed on the table opposite of where Leila's eating her instant noodles...
Um...why would I lie to you something like that?
「I have a feeling you can afford me these high-class food because you're not eating at all...」
How many times have I told her that the instant noodles aren't luxurious.
I lost track of my counts...
And do you think I'm that poor of a God?
I'm hurt...
Seriously though, I get that she's been a slave.
But being fascinated over a bread with butter spread inside is a little too much...
Just only a touch too much...I know there are people without even bread to eat...
In any case, I'll take that as a good thing if she likes it.
However, I am still pretty damn confused about her recovery rate.
I find it impossible to believe that a sex slave can come back to life that fast.
But little did I know, I was the cause for that.
Of course at this time, I have no way to know that yet...
So...tell me more about that city you mentioned...
「Ah yes...Twilight city...」
Though I looked at it on the map several times and thought that it was only a decent city...
It's in fact a gigantic one with all kinds of things going on inside.
That city is also a joint spot of two Kingdoms.
They joined forces and turned that city in the middle into their trading center.
And as expected, Slave Trading was overly popular.

Along with Magic Stones and Blessing Charms, it made up the 3 top most traded goods.
Seems like the charms come from the Twilight Ark with a cheap price.
It was a kind of one-time-use disposable blessing.
In other words, a consumable item.
Extremely common in MMORPG...
With that kind of goods being sold, no wonder adventurers gather there.
And I must say that this God managing the Twilight Ark is a pretty damn opportunistic guy.
I wonder why does he need mortal money?
God's powers should be enough for his life, right?
Maybe it's for hiring workers.
Who cares, I'll find out if I ever come there...
「Ralph-sama intend to materialize?」
Ah no...I'm just saying, I don't really intend to ascend...
By the way, Ralph is the most frequently used name of mine.
I always name my characters in games "Ralphael".
My chuunibyou time involved a lot of crap about divinity, sooo...
I ended up as a programmer was also because I wanted to work with games more...
「Thanks for the meal, Ralph-sama!! I'm going to water the garden now!」
Oh yeah...thank you...it's not too sunny, but don't overwork yourself...
「If I don't work hard...I'll become worthless...and...I won't be able to thank you...for bringing me back to life...」
OK OK OK I get it!! Don't cry, I beg you...Now, go!! Work!! Work as hard as you want!! Work your butt off!!!
Jeez...that was close.
She's still sensitive about being useful to the master...
Every time that happened, the moment I told her to go work hard her face brightened up again...
I have no idea how to deal with this...
But when you take a closer look...it's pretty natural.
She's been a slave almost her whole life.
After being used like a sex toy for all those years, she has no idea what to do after she was freed.
Moreover, I'm not sure about this, but I assume that I'm the only one that has been nice to her.
So what can she do after being freed from slavery, and at the same time allowed to live in a place where there's a God that would be nice to her?
None.
She doesn't know what to do besides working hard.
The feeling of being thrown away wouldn't leave her alone so easily.
It can't be helped.
She's not been given the right to choose her own path.
Thus in a situation like this, she's lost.
With that in mind, I decided to cast this thought aside.
I believe there are things that can be mended through time.
For now let's go outside and take a sound nap.
It was indeed the true definition of a peaceful day.
Not even Goblins cared to stop by and suicide...
I let my consciousness drift away together with Leila's sweet humming and fell asleep just like that...

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
