Around three weeks had passed since the preliminary competition had concluded with Fang Hao’s victory. It had taken almost a month for the “Alchemical Toxicity (Mild)” status effect to wear off. Fang Hao had managed to hoard around three jugs of spirit wine in this one month period. He was planning to use all the accumulated wine to breakthrough his Qi cultivation, but held off as he had to participate in the Outer Disciple Tournament soon. And he wouldn’t really be an outer disciple if he was in QI Condensation stage.
Soon, a black robed janitorial disciple arrived at his cottage and gave him a token. Apparently, the main completion would be held at the Arena and he had to be present there on the specified date or he would be considered as having forfeit with rules similar to the qualifying match. Fang Hao thanked the janitorial disciple and tasted some wine. Although he had promised himself to save the wine for his Qi Cultivation, he couldn’t resist the allure of such fine spirit wine! He gulped a couple of mouthfuls and started cultivating according to the 1st move of the 2nd seal of the Divine Vajra Body Scripture.

These few weeks, Fang Hao wasn’t idle. He had tried and experimented as to what his 1st seal “Primordial Marrow” did. A series of experiments, which might have been masochistic in nature led him to conclude a few things. He had vastly improved stamina and regenerative abilities. His practice of the Divine Vajra Body Scripture was solely limited by his Qi, and he didn’t require too much of a break between sessions. Before forming the 1st seal, he felt a significant amount of physical fatigue along with the Qi depletion with each practicing session. But now, he felt that as long as he had enough spirit wine, he could practice the Divine Vajra Body Scripture almost nonstop! He also recovered from bruises in seconds. Furthermore, any cuts on his body would clot in a few seconds and heal reasonably within a few minutes! Not to mention that his blood had a consistently similar to that of a viscous jelly. Being sensible, he didn’t experiment if his chopped limbs would generate…but it looked like he had accelerated his healing by a large factor!
At the dawn of the final completion, Fang Hao arrived at the waiting hall of the Arena and was soon informed of the rules. It looked like it would be an elimination style tournament with wooden weapons. No personal weapons or armor was allowed though. Around 500 opponents were there so he had to fight a maximum of 8 matches. Fang Hao won most of his matches without any difficulty. Even against the swarthy turtle in the quarter finals, he outlasted his opponent to claim a victory. While most expected him to be depleted of his stamina for the next match, Fang Hao had steamrolled it with ease.
Surprisingly, the only challenging opponent he faced was an unarmed outer disciple, who was not from his peak. This disciple had exquisite footwork while being a body cultivator. He was far sturdier than most other outer disciples and had a knack for dodging Fang Hao’s attacks at the last moment. After a long and tedious battle, which basically consisted of Fang Hao attacking and the opponent evading, Fang Hao had managed to outlast his opponent and managed to win! While he was expecting the fat juicy rewards… the coal black elder with shoulder length white hair was in deliberation with his peers.

“This little fatty seems to have had a stroke of good fortune in the mortal world; otherwise there is no way he could win this tournament with his shoddy skills.” A demure veiled female cultivator replied, “Acquired fortune is still one’s merit, brother Shi.” “While that is so Sister Lin…Cultivators cannot progress without sufficient challenges!” A hook nosed scar faced old man guffawed, “While I agree with you sister Lin, I also agree with Brother Shi. It would be a waste to not witness the full potential of this fatty. After all, Brother Zhu had selected him…”
“What I propose, fellow Brothers and Sisters…is to have the little fatty fight with a Qi Condensation Disciple.” Most of the other twelve cultivators contemplating with the coal black Cultivator Brother Shi had an expression which conveyed ‘Are you retarded?’ Noticing the expression of his peers, brother Shi hastily said “I propose that one of the weakest Qi Condensation disciples in the 1st layer to fight with him. After all, his good fortune seems to involve a method of body refining which is my domain. And I also assured Brother Zhu that I will look after his disciple…”
A handsome middle aged man with gray-brown hair laughed and said, “Now Now, Brother Shi. Don’t get too hasty. Even an average early QI Condensation Disciple could roast hat fatty while suing his cultivation and a few magic tools.” The coal black man had a smile on his face as he replied, “Which is why I propose a Qi Condensation Disciple of the 1st layer to fight Brother Zhu’s fatty without any treasures! After all…I am one of the most accomplished among the sec when it comes to Body Refining. If he succeeds this challenge, I will take care of this fatty till brother Zhu returns. Any Objections?” None of the other twelve cultivators replied and The coal black Brother Shi had a satisfied smirk on his face.
While Fang Hao was waiting for his reward declaration, the presiding judge suddenly addressed him. “Fatty, the Elders have decided an additional test for you. If you pass it, you will get additional rewards.” Fang Hao respectfully replied, “Senior may I require what extra rewards I can expect if I pass the additional trials? And what is the trial? And what will be the rewards if I reject the additional trial?” The presiding judge, who looked like a middle aged woman with freckled copper skin, replied, “Little Fatty, you will lose nothing if you refuse the challenge or accept the challenge and fail it. However, if you complete the challenge, you will gain the support of an Elder till your Master Zhu returns! As for what the challenge is… You will have to accept to find out. Although you can be assured that there is no danger to your life in doing so…”
Fang Hao thought “Is this a Bonus Quest? What are the Bonus Rewards? Whatever, there is no danger to my life. So I might as well accept it!”
