Chapter 23 – Shan He

“this is…?” A tall handsome man in military uniform, whose looks are similar to Chen Feng, asked the butler while looking down at the small child that barely went past his hips.

“This is Master Chen’s child, Chen Daiyu” Butler Shan replied respectfully to the man.

The man was tall and the aura around him screamed authority, just him being there gave off pressure to those around him.

But who was Chen Daiyu in her last life? One of the youngest special agents. She didn’t even notice the pressure the man had, instead, she focused on the fact that butler Shan introduced her as ‘Chen Daiyu’. She was quite happy with her new name.

“Hello uncle!” She smiled brilliantly to the point that even butler Shan was blinded.

” En… ” was the only reply she got. It did not dampen her mood, from the looks of it, Shan He was not the type to talk a lot. Getting a nod was more than enough for her.

Sure enough, butler Shan was surprised that Shan He acknowledged Chen Daiyu. It seemed like his worries were for naught.

Shan He walked past them and entered the mansion. Only then did Shan Yijun walk out of his hiding spot behind a pillar.

Butler Shan who was already used to it sighed, while Chen Daiyu gave Shan Yijun a questioning look.

Seeing her confused and the awkward Shan Yijun, Butler Shan tried to distract them, he knew that Shan Yijun wasn’t ready to open up yet.

“Little miss why don’t we see if nanny Meng’s cookies are ready yet? ” Butler Shan smiled.

Seeing that Butler Shan was changing the topic, Chen Daiyu didn’t ask anymore. Instead, she pulled Shan Yijun to the kitchen to eat nanny Meng’s delicious cookies.

Chen Feng was sitting in a spacious room, scrutinizing the two files on his hands.

Before she left with the child, he checked on her once while the woman was asleep. Along with the money, he told her what to name her. He did not think the woman would abandon the child 2 years later. Since then, some people have seen the child fight with dogs for food and beg kind people for food.

Persistent like a weed, the child survived.
