"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

- Julie Dillon

Did you regret your decision in forcing your employer to train you? Yes. He was way rougher than you thought he would be.

Get your head out of the gutter, I didn't mean it that way. Yeeaaah, that's right. I read your comments.

Hawks gave both you and Tokoyami similar pointers in terms of combat. You both relied on your quirks too much, and you needed to change that. In terms of quirks, he knew how to help Tokoyami. However, when you accidentally gave Hawks another piercing mid-training because a car horn scared you, he decided to focus on combat more than anything. If there was anything he could think of to help you with your quirk, he would let you know.

You learned several different things. How to successfully grab a gun out of someone's hands without your quirk, how to calm a civilian, how to manipulate a villain, how to model.

Yes, model. You didn't know why he thought that would be important to teach you, but you were pretty sure it was to flex his own 'reference photos' to you and Tokoyami.

You were okay, though. You had a perfectly hot soulmate not too far away from you.

Speaking of Todoroki, you were right in the middle of doing absolutely nothing with Tokoyami and Hawks when you felt a slight sting on your cheek. "Ow, what the frick?"

"What?" Hawks asked, unbothered and stuffing chicken in his mouth as he slouched at the kitchen counter.

"My cheek is stinging. Did Todoroki nick his cheek or some–" you were interrupted when you felt a sudden jab in your leg. When you went to clutch it, it was then that you noticed your mark on your arm was flashing red again. And the last time that happened. . .

You felt your heart drop as you quickly grabbed your phone, looking at the shared-location notification you ignored from Midoriya a while ago. You didn't think it was a big deal, but what if. . .

You quickly called him, your stomach sinking further when he didn't answer. Calling Todoroki next, the same thing happened. You looked back down at your flashing mark, thinking back to what Tokoyami and Hawks said a few days ago when you were first talking about your situation.

"So, you're both some sort of legendary soulmates made to save the world from ultimate doom?" Hawks asked, leaning against the wall.

You hesitated, "Well, when you put it like that–"

"And your mark symbolises all that? Does it do anything else other than sparkle?" Hawks said, curiously leaning closer and looking at it. You held it out, also gazing at it as you explained.

"I mean, not really. It was black before I met Todoroki, and then it was gold after we spoke to each other. Hey, what's your soulmate thing?"

"Usually when someone has words written on their arm, they go black and permanent once meeting their soulmate." Hawks stated, completely ignoring your question altogether. You frowned, knowing he heard you, but decided not to bring it up again.

"Yeah, I know."

"Wait, (L/N)-san," Tokoyami said, leaning in on his elbows as he stood at the counter. "Wasn't it doing something right before the USJ attack?"

Your eyes widened as you remembered, "Oh, yeah. It was flashing red. Like, right before the attack. Even Todoroki's was doing the same."

"You think it's some kind of warning to you that you have danger incoming?"

You nodded your head. "Yeah, I think so."

"It's not a warning that I could be in danger," you said to yourself.

"Wha?" Hawks said, trying to speak over the copious amount of chicken in his mouth.

You turned to Tokoyami, who was looking at Hawks with slight disgust at the open display. "Remember the first day here, we were talking about my soulmate mark after training?"

Tokoyami turned his gaze to you, nodding his head, "Yeah. How it does that weird flashy thing when you're in danger?"

You nodded your head. "I don't think it's for me."

Tokoyami frowned, both Hawks and Dark Shadow stopping to look at you. "What do you mean?"

You revealed your flashing mark, "Unless there's something around the corner that's posing any sort of threat to my life, which I highly doubt, I don't think this is for me. It's for Todoroki. My soulmate."

You all sat in dumb silence, until Hawks' comment broke it, "We're a bunch of dumb shits if we only just figured that out."

You got up from your seat, grabbing your phone and jacket. Noticing this, Hawks frowned, his gaze following you as you went to put your shoes on. "What are you doing?"

You looked at him like it was obvious, "Going to save my soulmate?"

"No, you're not."

You raised your eyebrows incredulously, "That's a pretty bold statement."

"You're not going." He focused back onto his chicken, smiling satisfyingly as he continued to eat.

Scoffing, you shook your head before finally tying your laces and putting on your jacket. "I know you'd like to laze around sometimes. Trust me, I get it. But if my soulmate is in danger and could possibly lose his life, you bet your ass I'm going to save him. Don't try and stop me."

Hawks then proceeded to send a few sharp feathers flying your way, threateningly digging into the wall in front of your face. You blinked, aware that one of the feathers could have stabbed your eye out before turning and looking at him. "Are you kidding?"

He looked at you out of the corner of his eye, "I said you're not going."

"You're not my dad, only Aizawa is."

"I'm also the one who has to take care of you. I can't let you run off into danger. I don't feel like filling out any paperwork–"

You cut him off right away, shooting out your own blade from your hand. It stuck in his piece of chicken, taking it from his hand and sticking it to the wall with the blade. He sighed and smirked, looking over at you.

"Don't ever fucking say that again." You were hoping your glare would burn holes through his stupid glasses on his head, but to no avail. "I'm going."

Before you could take off, you felt your phone vibrate. Fumbling to pick it up in your rushed state, you saw Todoroki's contact name. You answered the call, "Todoroki?! Are you alright?!"

"I'm fine, (Y/N)." He said.

Just hearing his voice calmed you down, and you breathed out a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry I couldn't come. I didn't see my arm flashing, and when I did and realised that you and Izuku might be in danger, I tried to leave, but Hawks wouldn't let me leave, that bitch–"

You heard Todoroki chuckle, "It's all okay. I'm okay. Midoriya is okay. Iida is in a bit of a bad shape, but he's perfectly safe now."

"Can you tell me what happened?" You asked, ignoring Hawks' pointed gaze and leaving to the hallway.

Todoroki told you how there was this so called 'Hero Killer' named Stain, and he was set out on killing all false heroes – the ones who only became a hero for income and money. They all fought and luckily defeated him. Todoroki also explained the dude's quirk to you, in which you cringed in disgust, "So he's a vengeful vampire?"

You heard Todoroki's huff of laughter on the other line before he replied in amusement, "Yeah, a vengeful vampire."

"Is Iida okay? Izuku?"

"Yes, they're fine. We're just in a hospital room now."

"And what about you?"

Todoroki was silent for a second, seeming to think over his answer for a moment before he replied with, "I'm actually alright. The guy was weird. Like, real weird. His tongue was sticking out the whole time, which made me uncomfortable."

You laughed at his weirded-out tone, glad he was actually okay. "Do you want me to visit?"

"No, please. Stay where you are. I don't want you going out anywhere. Please, just focus on your internship. And listen to Hawks. Don't give him too much of a hard time, okay?"

You weren't convinced, "Are you sure?"

"Yes," he said softly. "Stay. I'll see you in a couple of days, alright?"

You sighed, nodding your head. "Okay. I'll see you later."

"Have a good rest."

"You too. Sweet dreams, Shouto."

Hanging up the phone, you only realised what you called him before you sunk to the floor in embarrassment. It had only just slipped out, but you couldn't help the smile that rose on your face. It felt good to call him that.

"Todoroki-kun, are you okay?" Midoriya asked his duel-haired friend.

Todoroki flopped down on his bed, his phone still warm from the call he just had with you. His arm was above his head, his hair splayed out. He was smiling. All he could think about was the way his name rolled off your tongue.

He closed his eyes and chuckled incredulously. "She called me Shouto."
