"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

You had all finally chosen your heroes to apply to for your internships. When you said you were surprised that Bakugou chose Best Jeanist, you weren't exaggerating. You weren't sure if he was aware of what he was about to get into, but you trusted that the hero would teach him at least something useful.
You had chosen a hero who you thought would be pretty darn helpful in the arena. When you discovered that another student had chosen the same hero, you were actually kind of excited.
"Tokoyami, I completely forgot when we were supposed to go. When was it?"
Tokoyami just gave you a look of utter disappointment before replying with a, "Really?"
You sighed, leaning against his chair before saying, "Yeah, sorry."
He shook his head, waving his hand softly, "It's fine. Tomorrow at eight. The train."
You smiled thankfully, "Thanks, Tokoyami."
He nodded his head, "All good."

Everyone bid their goodbyes to each other the next day, going their own separate ways. You followed Tokoyami to the train, joining a few of your other classmates who were also catching the train to their internships. Coincidentally enough, you had sat down next to Kaminari.
Things were finally getting back to normal, and you weren't just trying to convince yourself. You could see he was getting over things, and it made you happy to be able to joke around with him again.
After finishing a fit of laughter after quoting some whack ass VINES, he leaned back in his seat, looking at you. "So. Hawks, huh?"
You huffed out a laugh before replying with a lazy, "Yeah, I guess."
He chuckled, "You guess?"
You shrugged your shoulders, further slumping down in your seat. "Yeah. I don't know, he definitely won't be able to help me with my quirk. I actually don't know why he requested me for an internship. I understand Tokoyami, they're both bird bois." You ignored Tokoyami's pointed glare as he overheard you. "However, I don't know why he would want to intern me. I figured he would be able to help me in the battlefield."

"To be fair, though," Kaminari said, turning in his seat to face you, "he does fly a whole lot. He does most of his battles in the air, doesn't he? So you're right, it is a bit confusing that he would want to intern you."
You sighed, nodding your head. "I know. I guess he can teach me combat. There's no way he's fought every single one of his battles from afar."
Kaminari nodded his head, "Yeah, you have a point. I really hope you learn something."
You smiled reassuringly, "I will."

"I ain't learning shit."
You sighed as you slumped in your stool at the counter you were sitting at, longingly watching as Hawks excitedly talked to Tokoyami about how they could be bird bros and all the cool bird shit they could do together. He had been doing this for two hours.
You were planning a mini social experiment in your head. Would someone notice other company leave during the process of giving one person excessive attention?
Yes, you were a hoe thirsting for attention at the moment.
Noticing he hadn't even asked who you were or even introduced himself to you yet, you came to the conclusion that you were just a lamp to him. You decided to conduct the Sexy Lamp Test, grabbing a Pringles can and placing it on the counter in front of you before getting up and walking away.
Why he had a full ass kitchen in his agency building, you had no idea.
You walked away from the Bird Bros, turning the corner. Before you could even begin to walk to the elevator, you felt a strong gust of wind pass your face. You blinked, and Hawks was standing in front of you, blocking your exit.
"Damn," you muttered, "I thought it worked."
"You think I'm stupid enough to fall for your Sexy Lamp Test?" He smirked at you, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms.
"One hundred percent."
"(L-L/N)-san!" Tokoyami exclaimed from his seat at the counter, commenting on your rudeness. You ignored him, too busy winning at your staring contest with your so-called temporary employer.

"You think you can just leave whenever you want?"
You snapped back rather quickly, "I think I can do whatever I want as long as my employer is unaware of my existence."
"That's excessive," he said, taking a step closer to you.
"So is the Bird Bros organisation."
He seemed to look offended for a good few seconds before smirking at you. "You just want attention, huh?"
"Don't make it weird," you scrunched your nose at him. "I just actually want to be acknowledged. I don't know if you noticed, but I came here looking for training. Not to be ignored. So, if you could tell me why you requested my internship, that would be lovely."
He chuckled, "You've got a mouth on you."
"So do you, as I've learnt from the past two hours where you didn't shut up for one second."
You heard Tokoyami fall to the ground after most likely sinking to the floor in complete and utter embarrassment.
"I think you should watch how you speak to people older than you–"
"You're 22 years old. Also, I don't give anyone my respect unless they've earned it. And so far, you've done a real shit job. So instead, answer a few of my questions."
He didn't say anything, and so you continued.
"Why did you request an internship for Tokoyami?"
Hawks hesitated before saying, "Because he's a bird."
You stood there, waiting for something else. When you got nothing, you laughed incredulously, "So, not because he's a strong ass student who ranked top three in the UA Sports Festival, or because he could kick your ass in two seconds flat if he really wanted to, but because he's part BIRD?"
When Hawks didn't say anything, just stared at you, you shook your head.
"What else? That you wanted information on the League of Villains?"
He didn't say anything again, and you sighed.
"Wow. Did you pick me for an internship because I was one of the so-called 'legendary soulmates'?"
No answer. Cue another dead laugh from you.
"Okay, I'm leaving. If all you wanted from us was shit for your own benefit, you can go and sit in your nest and wait for someone more willing to throw their time away. I'm off."
You knew you were being harsh, but if he was going to treat not just you, but also Tokoyami like trash instead of training you like he was meant to, he could find someone else.
You quickly looked around the corner, waving at the emo boi, "See ya, Tokoyami."
He just mumbled embarrassingly in response like the angsty teen he was. You chuckled before walking past Hawks, not even sparing him a glance. "See you later, Bird Bitch."
"Fine, I'll train you both."
You scoffed, not even looking at him as you kept walking away, "You mean like how you were supposed to?"
"I mean like how you've now gained my respect."
This made you pause, and you turned around, glaring at him. "I don't care about that. Respect me all you want. You need to prove that I should respect you."
"I can help out with that." He smirked. You hesitated for a while, thinking.
Did you really just bitch your way into getting a hero to train you? Even though he was supposed to do it, and he requested for you and Tokoyami anyway, did you really just backchat your way into getting a hot ass 22-year-old hero to train you?
You sure fucking did, you badass.
You crossed your arms, reflecting his smirk with your own. "Fine. You've got three days. See how well you do."
"I think I should be speaking those words to you, kid."
You winced, "Don't let that stick."
"Oh, it will."
