✞︎ "yes... i reviewed the report for a little while during class. i won't need anyone from you guys at this case." y/n said with a little hesitance in her tone.

she was afraid of offending them, but they can't help but be disappointed.

"how come? how will you solve this case then?" luca sadly asked.

"i think..." y/n mumbled. "this case is an apocalypse."

the boys went ooohh while the guys just frowned.

a/n: i'll be calling the younger ones 'boys' while the older ones 'guys' because apparently, they're not noctyx and luxiem yet. thanks.

"okay? still, bring us with you." mysta insisted.

"but an exorcism with 11 members present would be too much. you guys would just stand there and watch, doing nothing." y/n also insisted. "come on, guys. just stay here, please?"

"i also want to show the boys how we do it and explain it to them."

"i understand." ike was the first one. "if the president insists, then i'll stay."

"b-besides, an apocalypse? i'd rather stay."

"aww i don't want to miss it but i'll just stay here too." shu said.

"i wanna come..." luca and mysta mumbled.

"i'm sorry..." y/n apologized and gave the two their head pats.

"ey ey ey i'm not coming too." shu reminded and pointed his head. y/n laughed and gave him a head pat, as well as ike.

vox just smiled at the scene before closing the drapes and the light.

"vox and mysta told you incomplete rules." y/n said after she turned to the boys who are the ones sitting on the chair.

"is this actually a fraternity?" alban asked in horror.

"rule number 5." y/n took her necklace out. "you shall not take advantage of what you will receive."

"we'll receive?" the boys mumbled.

"money?" alban asked with his eyes twinkling.

"no." y/n giggled before her necklace started glowing.

it wasn't new- magic wasn't new at all for them- but seeing y/n affiliated with it was a sight for sore eyes.

she looked magical.

five more glowing fragments came out of the necklace's glowing pendant. it all went flying across the room before it went to their respective owners.

a silver gem went to fulgur's palm. he was so mesmerized by it.

alban didn't wait for the green gem any longer and snatched it before it landed on his palm. he was also mesmerized by it that he wanted to do multiple things with it- like his mind just became a rainbow- sell it, eat it, make it a ring, you name it.

uki was different. he didn't put his palm out. the lavender-colored gem just floated in front of his face while he stared at it. no one knows if he's bored of it or actually in awe.

sonny too, didn't take his palm out. in fact, he was a bit scared of the glowing turquoise gem of his. it just landed on the table in front of him.

"yugo!" they all exclaimed.

yugo's navy gem, on the other hand, landed right on his face.

"i'm okay!" yugo said while holding onto his nose.

"a-are you sure?!" y/n asked.

"yes, senpai!"

y/n sighed first. "okay... those are charms. everyone in the occult club has one. once you obtain it, you'll get the ability of a spirit medium to see spirits with your naked eye."

the other five members who are standing beside and behind y/n showed their kouhais their own charms.

she then explained how that worked. that only spirit mediums can see spirits, and that people can't see spirits they were acquainted with before they died.

"each charm holds an ability." y/n said. "i activate the abilities underwater."

"but i can make an exemption today. i just need more stamina." y/n mumbled and took a book from the shelf.

"what do you mean?" ike immediately asked.

"when i gave you guys your abilities, the right procedure was underwater so it won't be painful for everyone involved. but knowing that you guys aren't even from the present, i think it would hurt nonetheless." y/n explained. "i'll just need to make a magic circle at the carnival later and give the abilities if i think we'll need it."

"that is one long ass paragraph." mysta whispered to himself.

"have you done this before?" ike asked once again.

y/n shook her head no.

"then just bring us with you." ike insisted.

"no." y/n said with finality.

ike just sighed.

"don't worry, i'll take care of her well," vox reassured.

"you better."

"okay!" y/n turned to the boys. "i want you five to imagine how you'd like to turn these gems into charms. like, their shape. you can only do this once, so be careful."

the five gems started glowing again the moment it was in everyone's hands.

"this is actually fascinating to watch." mysta mumbled.

"yeah. i can't believe we looked this magical before." shu said and chuckled.

"i wonder what accessory they're thinking..." ike shared his thoughts.

after the shape-changing, y/n and vox turned the lights on before she helped her juniors in making their own accessories with what was available in the club.

alban, the most excited of them all, has made himself an emerald ring with the gold base that was left in the club's box.

uki immediately knew what he was going to make. an elegant-looking pastel lavender-colored hair clip with the pearls and fake diamonds lying around.

yugo couldn't think of anything else, so he has decided to replace his old earring with a new one. he made a long hanging earring with the navy blue pendant dangling at the bottom.

fulgur had so idea either, so he just made a simple ring with the silver pendant in the middle. its simplicity made vox scoff that they almost fought if it weren't for uki and ike stopping them.

sonny, an ex-commander, couldn't come up with something at all. during his work, an accessory was a no-no.

"need help?" y/n approached. unlike before, she feels a little comfortable approaching sonny now.

although she actually prefers this than being the one he approaches. it's less scary this way.

"senpai..." sonny mumbled. "i can't wear a ring. a necklace would easily snap, as well as a bracelet during battle. i would immediately lose an earring too."

y/n hummed while thinking.

she then bent down and whispered something to sonny.

"yeahh..? okay..."

the 9 curiously stared at them. now they're intrigued by what sonny's charm is going to be.

especially the third years. after all, y/n didn't help them that much when they were making their charms. they feel a little bit sulky.

"we're ready to go!" y/n beamed.

"i'll miss you... can i get a hug?" luca asked with his puppy dog eyes.

"but i'm not leaving forever..?" y/n asked as she hugs luca by the neck.

"i know. i just love how you go on your tippy toes when you hug us." luca replied with a grin.

y/n just shook her head.

"we'll be leaving, shu, mysta, luca, ike," she said to the four.

"yeah whatever. bye."

"take care. call us if you need anything."

"slay!!! those zombies!"

"we'll wait for you here."

"you don't have to." y/n replied to shu. "you guys can immediately go home after club time."

"no. we'll wait for you here." shu repeated, with the others seconding his motion.

"...fine." y/n gave up. "if you guys got bored, skim through the shelf. there's a lot to see there."

after bidding their last goodbyes, they all left for the second case, leaving the four.

"do we need to stop by at the temple?"

y/n's blood immediately turned cold by the topic vox suddenly opened.

"no." y/n mumbled. "we're not stopping by the temple."

"wow. the school feels crowded today. is it because of club time?" alban said while waving and greeting every student.

vox glanced at his kouhai. "those are spirits. most students are in their club rooms."

"eh?!"

y/n giggled. "look carefully. the more you get used with a spirit medium's ability, the better you'll tell the difference between a spirit and a real human." she said.

"and here was i, greeting them all..." alban mumbled with a pout.

"how do you guys feel? we're having your very first mission!" y/n excitedly said after turning around, hoping to infect the boys with her enthusiasm.

"kinda nervous, if i'd be honest." uki immediately said. "will the spirits eat us or something?"

y/n shook her head. "the only dangers the spirits can inflict on us are to put a curse on us and follow us wherever we go. but a bad spirit can push out your soul by brute force and take over your body. this only happens to spirit mediums."

"ah! that's why there were a lot of exorcists getting possessed, right?!" yugo asked. "i saw them on youtube."

y/n nodded before explaining the laws of the spirit realm, just like how she told her first club members about the bad and good spirits, and how people shouldn't be too aware of it, in case the mortal realm clashes with the spirit realm.

the five immediately understood, which was really fortunate of her. when y/n explained it to the first five, they also understood it without any more questions asked.

"why is akuma-senpai with us?" fulgur asked. "no offense. is it because he's the vice-president?"

y/n shook her head.

"he's a scapegoat." y/n darkly said.

"i'm a what?" vox sweatdropped.

the lady laughed. "just kidding."

maybe.

y/n told the boys the skills her other members have. they were in awe of vox's the most.

although she left out her other skill and just told them that she could stop time with the president's charm.

she also told them that the white charm will soon choose the next president next school year, and that person will gain the ability to stop time once the white charm is in their hands.

the five boys didn't bother asking y/n and vox any questions and just kept following the two. it's been 10 minutes since they left the school premises, and only y/n knew where they are right now.

"y/n." vox called that only the two of them can hear. "the case... it's not like the first one, is it?"

y/n nodded. "there was a reason why i didn't explain any further at the club room with ike and the others listening."

"i honestly wanted to do it nighttime... but we can't go to the temple right now." y/n said with her body shuddering at the thought of the child spirit.

she almost forgot about her. and y/n wished she totally does.

her feeling was never right while thinking about that child.

"i'll be using you a lot today. but i'll do my best and help," y/n whispered while holding on to vox's shirt.

"you mean..."

y/n looked up to him. "we're exorcising no one."

"we're going on a killing spree."

"this is the carnival."

the seven of them stared at the closed and empty carnival. it's a new place, yet it already looks old and abandoned upon looking outside.

"it seems empty. aren't we supposed to see the spirits?"

y/n shrugged. "we'll find out once we enter its premises."

y/n then faced the five. "listen up, everyone."

"we aren't exorcising anyone today." she announced. "remember when i told you that we accept requests and being them to the spirit realm after it? no. we're not doing that today."

"you have unique abilities close to vox's ability, which was why i didn't talk about it with ike and the others. and also the reason why i left them at school."

y/n then walked to the carnival before opening the gate.

"your goal here is to stay away from all spirits possible and lure them to us."

the wind then blew cold as y/n's hair flew in the air like she's in some sort of action movie. no matter how cringe it sounds, it was actually a sight to see.

"we'll take care of the rest and explain after everything." y/n assured. "i'll take responsibility of you."

"...just don't get harmed. do pretend that they're real zombies."

"yes, president." the six said in unison.

y/n went in first before vox and the rest followed.

the moment they entered the premises, they were blown by very negative energy. maybe because they're spirit mediums that the air feels heavier than what the first visitors felt when they came to the carnival.

and not to their surprise, the place wasn't empty at all.

it was filled with spirits, each was surrounded by black smoke. an aura that indicates their role.

bad spirits.

vox signaled his juniors to keep quiet and follow y/n who went to the side. she then took out a chalk and drew the most perfect magic circle the six have ever seen.

but she wasn't able to complete it when a spirit noticed them.

"i'll push south." sonny just said and started running away.

"be careful!" y/n exclaimed.

"i'll push east, then!" alban said and ran away. y/n shook her head when she saw the excitement in his eyes.

"i'll push west." fulgur volunteered.

"take uki with you. yugo stay here." y/n ordered.

yugo stood beside y/n who is still completing the circle, while vox hides the two of them behind.

he was holding his katana, caressing its handle as his charm slowly glowed red.

he immediately ran to the spirits despite their horrifying appearance. vox was successful in annihilating them while keeping them away from y/n and yugo at the same time.

"10 o'clock! to your right! there's three up!" yugo exclaimed while watching vox's every move.

"i'm done!" y/n beamed.

"i'm here!" alban called.

"holy fuck there's a lot, y/n!" vox yelled.

y/n didn't waste another second and took yugo inside the magic circle. she held his hands as they both closed their eyes to feel the energy they were giving one another.

"stay with me, yugo." y/n murmured when she felt his hold tightening.

"s-senpai... it hurts..." yugo whispered in pain.

"i'm sorry... please bear with it..!"

yugo's charm glowed before rays of light hugged him. it then exploded, scaring a few spirits away.

"that's one!" y/n exclaimed and pulled yugo while they ran to vox.

when yugo opened his eyes, his vision seems much more clearer.

"what's this?" yugo mumbled.

"aid vox for a minute, yugo!" y/n loudly said. "vox, do what yugo tells you to do!"

yugo's eyes glistened mischievously when he immediately figured out what was different. "yes, senpai!"

"hold on! everything's going so fast that i don't understand shit anymore!" vox exclaimed and laughed. "fuck! where is alban?! and y/n?!"

"leto-senpai ran somewhere! alban went into hiding- don't worry, akuma-senpai! alban is great in hiding!"

the both of them leaned on each other's back.

"senpai. prioritize the spirit i point, yes?"

"sure thing, boy!"

"go! from your 3 o'clock!"

y/n was relieved upon hearing yugo's orders. the amount of spirits in the carnival is also decreasing as they all tried going vox's way.

those two can hold it for a minute or two.

she continued running around, searching for sonny, uki, and fulgur. but her eyes just widened when she saw a crowd of black smoke cramping over something-

someone!

y/n didn't even think twice and ran towards it with a pair of spike daggers appearing out of nowhere. her vision just darkened, seeing nothing but only feeling the rage in her body before she swung her weapon.

"senpai..." sonny mumbled in shock.

y/n was breathing heavily while staring at the floor.

it's alright. they're unlike the other spirits. they're the bad ones. you're doing the world a favor, y/n.

"senpai!" sonny called when the lady's knees suddenly fell.

ah shit. sonny thought when he saw more spirits approaching.

he knew he couldn't touch those spirits- they always pass through him. so sonny took y/n's weapon, and without a second thought, used it while protecting her in his arms.

that's when y/n snapped out of it.

"sonny! what are you doing?!"

"it's alright if you can't, senpai! i can do this for you too!" sonny exclaimed before checking to see if she was alright.

"after all, i'm vsf's commander!" he proudly said with a wide grin.

y/n was about to lose hope, but if her members aren't giving up, then why should she? vox and yugo are trying their best to finish every spirit with their teamwork, uki and fulgur are leading them to the two despite the fear and not owning their abilities yet, and sonny just did y/n's job without any hesitations.

y/n took her other dagger and stood up. "i need to give your abilities quick!"

the both of them went to the west. when they saw fulgur and uki being cornered, y/n and sonny both jumped in.

"leave the other dagger to fulgur!" sonny said and took the dagger in y/n's hand, giving it to fulgur.

"wait what- ah! wait! but fulgur can't-!"

"fulgur is a warrior from the future! he's a cyborg! don't worry about him!" sonny explained as he pulls y/n while they were on the run.

"it's leto-senpai and sonny!"

"keep going!" y/n said to vox who just nodded at her. he looks a bit tired, but he was also pumped up. vox would be lying if he say he's not enjoying this.

and hell, yugo's a good coach!
