‘Fortis’ was a surname that had given to ‘Helius’ by Empress Stella De Sapientia, the first Empress of Sapientia Empire, after merged the 3 kingdoms and defined the land border. Empress Stella had also given Title of Marquess to ‘Helius’ and the right to rule Fortis Territory under the law of Sapientia Empire.

‘Helius’ married Princess Salviya, a daughter of The Duke of Ferrum, a cousin of Empress Stella, a hero of Sapientia Empire on 26 April 2 SE, they fell in love with each other in the incident of monster’s suppression before Sapientia Empire had established. They had 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters.

‘The Direct Bloodline’ Maximilian H. De Fortis, the first child and the right heir who inherited all types of magic power from Helius. He married Aviana De Multa, a daughter of Count Multa on 15 August 24 SE. They had 3 children, 2 sons and 1 daughter.

‘The Second in Bloodline’ Selena De Fortis, the second child who inherited wind, water, healing, and light magic power from Helius. She had a strong healing magic power and devoted herself to heal people by established “The Remedium” a foundation place that support for charity activities and healing people for free. Helius had given her some of fortune and a land with a large building of The Remedium, which located in the city of Fortis. He also made a will that the direct bloodline must support The Remedium, Selena De Fortis and her descendants every generation. Later, she got married to Count Hasta, one Vassal of Fortis, her children inherited wind, water, healing, and light magic power at high level, they continue to devote themselves to The Remedium in every generation.

‘The Third in Bloodline’ Valentine De Fortis, the third child who inherited 4 elements magic power at high level and light magic power at medium level from Helius. He got the Title of Count of Fidus because of honor. ‘Count Valentine Fortis Fidus’ had been appointed as one Vassal of Fortis. ‘The fourth in Bloodline’ Vero De Fortis, the fourth child who inherited 4 elements magic power at high level from Helius. He got the Title of Count of Fertilis because of honor. ‘Count Vero Fortis Fertilis’ had been appointed as one Vassal of Fortis. Helius had given him a land which located at southeast in Fortis Territory. He was great and famous in Artificium business, who developed the first Artificium in Sapientia Empire.

‘The fifth in Bloodline’ Serenity De Fortis, the fifth child who inherited 4 elements and healing magic power at medium to high level from Helius. She got married to Count Artis.

Helius and The Princess Salviya’s children had inherited high magic power from Helius and they had inherited mark. The next generation, only direct blood line inherited both of power and mark, the second to fifth in bloodline inherited power but no mark. Later, the inherited mark was a significant of direct bloodline.

As the history record, the first son in direct bloodline always inherited all types of power. The right heir had been being named ‘H.’ in their middle name every generation, the other children in the same generation could not be named ‘H.’ in their middle name.

In case of not having a right heir in that generation, the family will select the one who had inherited the highest level of light and healing magic power because it was the significant of Helius. However, there was no record in the history of The Fortis Family in that case, they had set the rule for the family’s standard.

There was no record of the other sons in the same generation who inherited more power than the first son. The level of magic power was showing on the inherited mark; the more of gold aura shinning on inherited mark, mean the stronger power they had inherited.

Curtis came inside the library, he was looking for Ilario.

“Lord Lucifer invited you for dinner, Young Lord” said Curtis politely, “I had placed a Memoria into your room.”

“Thank you,” Ilario said.

Curtis led Ilario to the dining room. He was staying with Fortis Family since he was young. For that reason, he always respects to all members of The Fortis Family faithfully.

Dinner was full of meals and several dishes. His parents and Beatrice were waiting for him, they look so happy when they saw him came inside.

“I had told your great uncle to teach you swordsmanship, he agreed to teach you by himself. He’s great, Eli” said Lucifer proudly.

“What about his magic power? Is he great as well, Father?” Ilario asked curiously.

“Umm…He’s good at Fire Magic,” Lucifer was speechless and changed a topic of conversation, “ah, the private tutors will start next week. You still have 8 months before you enroll at The Libertas Academy. I’ve already applied papers for you.”

“Thank you, Father.” Ilario said.

Ilario could guess roughly about Cornelius’s magic power, his inherited mark was completely dark. Cornelius could not be the right heir to Fortis but he was one of direct bloodline. He could inherit the fortunes of Fortis in case of no right heir to continue the direct bloodline.

After finished dinner, Ilario went back to his room. He checked a Memoria and wondered how it can record the moving pictures.

“It made from light magic stone,” Luna said.

“Really? Could I extend the usage time?” Ilario asked curiously.

“Of course. You can input your light magic power inside the stone when it was out of magic energy. But you need to adjust your power carefully, or else, it would be broken,” Luna said.

“All right, I got it” said Ilario, he kept a Memoria inside his bracelet.

The next day, Ilario went to the training ground. He saw the knights having the mock fights. He went toward Cornelius, there was another knight beside him. He had an anxious face when he saw him.

“Hello, great uncle. I’m glad I can learn swordsmanship from you. I heard you are really great,” said Ilario politely, he did not actually want to polite to him but he did need to deceive him.

“Haha…, It’s great to hear you feel that way,” said Cornelius, he smiled but his mind was despising of Ilario, “Adrian, you help him train the basic.”

“Yes, sir” said Adrian, a knight who had anxious face when he saw Ilario. He was in his mid-twenties, tall, well train body, brown hair, and brown eyes.

Ilario really wanted to skip the basic training but he had a purpose of finding the spies.

“Did you find something suspicious?” mind communicated Ilario, he used telepathy with Solaris while he was practicing sword.

“No, I didn’t. He’s very cautious. But he always speaks ill of your behavior to many knights, especially, a knight who was training you now,” mind communicated Solaris.

“Is he the one who doing errands for great uncle?” mind communicated Ilario.

“I’m not sure. I’ll follow him when he did something suspicious,” mind communicated Solaris.

Ilario knew very well that half of the knights did not welcome him. Cornelius must be consolidated his power by gathering the knights to his side. However, most of the knights were lacking skills. It has no meaning to gather this kind of knights, they could die just only fight with the low level of monsters.

‘The History of Sapientia Empire’

Before ‘Sapientia Empire’ established, The South world was divided by 3 Kingdoms. There were ‘Aurum Kingdom’ located in the north-east, close to Magnus Forests, ‘Mercatura Kingdom’ located in the South, near the Meridiem Sea, and ‘Antiqua Kingdom’ located in the West, close to Tenebris Forest and Ferrarius Mountain.

The Aurum Kingdom was the beginning of Sapientia Empire. The Aurum Kingdom had found several mines of gold and silver in 168 AE, it made the kingdom rich and strength in power continually.

In the year of 297 AE, Antiqua Kingdom declared war to Aurum Kingdom because the greedy of The King of Antiqua Kingdom who planned to invade and get the gold mines in Aurum Kingdom, but it was failed. Aurum Kingdom, under the King Caelum De Aurum and his daughter, Princess Stella De Aurum who led the army and suppressed the war. The Autiqua Kingdom’s army seriously suffered from lost.

In the meantime, King Caelum had formed alliance with Mercatura Kingdom by trading exclusive products. The purposes were to prevent the war from both sides and strengthen the power of Aurum Kingdom.

After 3 years from war incident, the monsters attacked the villages nearby The Tenebris Forest. It was first time people saw the creatures called monsters. There were Monster King, named ‘Diabolus’ and Monster Lords that had intelligence like humans but they were cruel. They were behind the incident of monster horde by doing the experiment on wild animals with several species.

At that time, Athena Goddess had given magic powers to the heroes and army by using medium body of demigod, Helius. The heroes and army used magic powers to fight the monsters and finally killed Diabolus in 3 years. — Athena Goddess had given Princess Stella the holy magic power. After Princess Stella got power from the Goddess, her eyes changed to be gold color, the significant magic symbol mark appeared on the back of her right hand, and shinning with light gold. It was a symbol of Phoenix in shape of crescent moon with star shinning; it was also an inherited mark and a significant of royal family who inherited Holy magic power in every generation since then. — Athena goddess also given Princess Stella ‘Sanctus Sword’ a holy sword with unique design; ‘The pommel’ had the same symbol mark on her hand. ‘The cross guard’ had designed in shape of shield-like with shining star symbol at the center, and four-pointed star at the end of both sides, long pointed and compatible with other parts. ‘The blade’ was long, 2 sharp edge, and it had serrated edge near the cross guard. It requires holy magic power to hold and wield Sanctus Sword.

Princess Stella used both of holy magic power and Sanctus Sword to purify and destroy Diabolus’s dark magic core in the final battle. — There were other 4 heroes, Athena goddess had given ‘Fire’ magic power to Prince Amias, a son of The Duke of Ferrum, ‘Wind’ Magic Power to Count Collis De Iustitia, a royal knight escort commander, ‘Earth’ Magic Power to Count Liber De Scientia, a royal knight army commander, ‘Wind and Water’ Magic Power to Princess Salviya, a daughter of The Duke of Ferrum, ‘Cursus Power’ to warriors and knight army. They supported Princess Stella and suppressed the monsters when they invaded to Magnus Forest. — The great help that led the destruction of Diabolus and monster lords were Helius, a demigod, and the elves. They fought and protected Aurum Kingdom with their great magic powers.

In the year of 304 AE, King Caelum declared war to Antiqua Kingdom. The army led by Princess Stella won the war, they had invaded Antiqua Kingdom by killing the king, all the royalties and the nobles of Autiqua Kingdom. Seized the power and combined the kingdoms.

In the year of 305 AE, King Caelum planned to merge all the kingdoms in the South world to be one empire, the purpose was to bring peaceful to the citizens. At that time, he negotiated with The King of Mercatura Kingdom about a political marriage between Princess Stella and Prince Ventus, an elder son of The King of Mercatura. The alliance was settled by an agreement that satisfied both sides. They agreed with a politic marriage but the heir to the throne and rule the empire was Princess Stella and her descendants who inherited Holy Magic Power. Meanwhile, Mercatura Kingdom became one territory of the empire and got a right for trading with other countries.

The merged kingdoms were managed by the rearrangement, which mean to change the authority and position to all territories in the empire.

Further negotiations, they renewed the urban area by defined the final lands border. The Empire was divided to be 1 Capital and 8 Territories. There were Aurum Capital, Ferrum, Fortis, Artis, Mercatura, Scientia, Gladius, Multa and Isutitia.

On 9 September 308 AE, the date of announcement to change new era, the beginning of Sapientia Era and the end of Ancient Era. It changed to be 9 September 1 SE (Sapientia Era) and set as a national date since then.

On 9 September 1 SE, Princess Stella married Prince Ventus. The coronation ceremony of Empress Stella was held in the same day. Princess Stella ascended to the throne and became The First Empress of Sapientia Empire.
