《Ilario》CHAPTER 19: RETURN (End of Season 1)

Ilario went back to the treehouse. He wanted to check the girl’s condition and prepared himself to leave.
He opened the door to his bedroom and saw the girl playing with a wolf cub, Luna. He was surprised why Luna showed up herself to the girl and even played with her.
“I was surprised you showed up to her,” mind communicated Ilario.
“She was going to cry. So, I have to distract her with something else,” mind communicated Luna.
“Do you like her?” mind communicated Ilario.
“Yes, she has the same power as yours,” mind communicated Ilario.
The girl looked at him while he was using ‘Telepathy’ with Luna. She was a bit chubby, adorable, black long hair, green eyes like jewel. She has inherited mark on the back of right hand like him but the gold aura was not shining much like him, even so, it was not completely black. It means that she inherited Helius’s power at medium to high level.
Ilario considered her appearance and guessed that she might be his sister. He walked toward her, then knelt down beside her.
“Hello. My name is Ilario. What is your name?” Ilario asked her kindly, she made him think of his sister in his previous life.
“Bia’s name is Beatrice. Nice to meet you,” said Beatrice cheerfully, she was not scared him and looks so happy when she talked to him.
“How old are you?” Ilario asked.
“Bia is 5 years old,” said Beatrice cheerfully.
“Can I call you Bia? You can call me brother,” Ilario asked her kindly.
“Umm...only Daddy and Mom can call Bia but Bia will give special permission for brother to call Bia,” said Beatrice cheerfully. She was very cute child.
“All right, Bia, how are you feeling? Does it hurt anywhere?” Ilario asked her kindly.
“No, Bia did not hurt anywhere,” said Beatrice cheerfully.
“Oh...you woke up. I will prepare a meal for her,” said Ms. Carina kindly, she came for checking on Beatrice and left.
Beatrice was playing with Luna. Ilario went to help Ms. Carina at the kitchen.
“I have something to tell you, Ms. Carina” Ilario said, “I have to return to my family. I think I will leave today after she got some meal. Thank you for taking care of me. I’m really grateful for everything you have done for me,” said Ilario sincerely, he expressed his grateful to her.
“It’s my pleasure. You are a good boy. Ah, I will prepare the lunch boxes for you. So, you two will have something to eat on the way back to your home,” said Ms. Carina kindly.
“Thank you,” Ilario said.
He helped Ms. Carina and brought a meal to Beatrice. He fed her until she finished it all.
Ms. Carina came inside the room, she brought a new dress for Beatrice.
“You should take a bath and change to this dress,” Ms. Carina said and asked. “Is it all right for me to help you bath?”
Beatrice said nothing but nodded. She followed Ms. Carina to the bathroom obediently.
“Is it possible for Bia to make contract with spirit? I have a feeling that they will find a chance and kidnap her again,” mind communicated Ilario.
“She has high magic powers of wind, water, and healing. I will find the medium level of spirits for her. They can stay and protect her without draining her magic power much,” mind communicated Luna, then disappeared.
Ms. Carina helped Beatrice to bath and change her new dress, then left.

Luna appeared with 2 small spirits, hummingbirds-like; one was green, it has wind energy surrounding its body; another one was blue, there were water drops on its body.
“Wow...What is it?” Beatrice asked excitedly.
“Hello. I’m a wind spirit,” a green one said, her voice was female.
“Hello. I’m a water spirit,” a blue one said, her voice was female.
“She has high magic powers as you said,” a green one talked to Luna.
“We like your magic power, please make contracts with us,” a blue one said energetically.
“Brother, the birds are talking,” said Beatrice, she was scared and hiding behind Ilario.
“Do you know about spirits?” Ilario asked kindly, he knelt down to talk to her.
“No,” said Beatrice, she was going cry.
“Do you know about angles?” Ilario asked kindly.
“Bia knew about angles. Mom read the books for Bia, a little girl with wings,” said Beatrice enthusiastically, her expression changed after she talked about angles.
“They are little angles that transformed themselves to be hummingbirds. That’s why they can talk to Bia and they have powers to protect Bia. Do you like them?” Ilario explained and asked her kindly.
He did not know how to explain the details of spirits to her. She was still too young to understand the complicated information. Therefore, he used the same method when he talked to his sister in his previous life.
She said nothing but looked at the spirits. She had a doubt on them.
The spirits were flying around her energetically. Beatrice was surprised a few moments, then she was familiar with them in a short time.
“Let’s make contracts,” a green one and a blue one said. Apart from their appearances, their voices were also like the birds.
Beatrice looked at him as if she wanted to ask his opinion.
“Bia, they wanted to stay with you and protect you from bad people like the guys who kidnapped you. That’s why they requested to make contracts with you. They needed your permission first. What do you think?” Ilario explained and asked her kindly. “Brother made contract with Luna as well,” He reassured her and pointed at Luna.
“Yes,” said Beatrice obediently.
“Name us and tell your full name,” a green one said.
“Touch us. Touch us,” a blue one said.
“Ava and Vita,” Beatrice said to a green one and a blue one respectively, “my name is Beatrice De Fortis.” She used her fingers to touch both of them.
Ilario wondered why there was no ‘H.’ in her middle name. She has inherited mark, that mean she was a direct bloodline of Helius.
After Beatrice touched the spirits’ body, there were a light wind blowing between her right hand and Ava, and warm water circulating around her left hand and Vita.
“It’s done,” Ava and Vita said.
Ilario was relieved that she has spirits to help her in emergency cases. At least, Ava and Vita can protect or give some signal to Luna when Beatrice encountered with dangerous or bad people.
He must be wary about everyone, especially the knight of Fortis. He will find the spies and deal with them all.

‘Knock’ ‘Knock’
“You have guests come over,” Ms. Carina said in front of the door.
“Yes, I got it” Ilario said.
“Bia, can you play with the angles while I talk to the guests? I’ll be right back,” Ilario asked her kindly.
“Yes,” said Beatrice obediently.
Ilario went downstairs to meet the guests. Lyra, Antlia, Norma, Sagitta, and Oliver came to visit him.

“Ah...I’m going to see you and say goodbye. I have to return to my home today,” Ilario said.
“We’ve already known from the elders. We’re here to give you a special gift,” said Lyra, she smiled at him nicely.
“We made it as a master piece,” said Sagitta proudly.
Lyra gave Ilario a wood bow, he felt some kind of strong energy from the bow.
“It made from a branch of World Tree. Normally, we made it for our Bellators. It has ability to increase all kinds of magic powers, up to the one who using it,” Lyra said.
“Thank you. I will use it well,” said Ilario happily.
“When will you leave?” Oliver asked.
“After talked to you all,” Ilario said.
“Are you in such a hurry?” Norma asked.
“I have some urgent business with my family,” said Ilario, he told them a brief story.
“It was destined that you have to return. We will miss you,” Antlia said.
“I will miss you all too,” Ilario said.
“You’re a good boy,” Norma said.
“Come to visit us sometime,” Oliver said.
“Yes, I will. I’m really grateful for everything you all have done for me. If you need my help, you can find me at Fortis Family,” said Ilario sincerely.
“Take care of yourself,” Lyra said.
“Goodbye,” all of them said and left.
Ilario went back to his bedroom. He packed all of his belongings and kept it in his bracelet, and prepared himself for journey. He had asked Oliver about Fortis Territory once but he did not know much in details, he knew only that it was a territory next to Artis Territory.
“Bia, Do you want to go back home? I wonder where is your home,” Ilario asked her kindly.
“Yes, Bia would like to go back home but Bia can’t remember the way to go home,” said Beatrice sadly.
“It’s all right. I can take you back, Bia. Don’t be sad,” said Ilario kindly.
“Really?” Beatrice asked.
“Yes, really” said Ilario, he smiled at her.
He covered her head with hood, held her in his arm, and went downstairs.
“Oh…Are you leaving?” Ms. Carina said and handed him the lunch boxes.
“Yes, we are. Thank you for all your help,” Ilario said.
“Thank you for taking care of Bia,” said Beatrice nicely.
“Oh my…How adorable you are,” said Ms. Carina kindly. “It’s nothing. I’m glad to do it,”
“Goodbye Ms. Carina” Ilario said.
“Goodbye,” Beatrice said.
We went out of the elves’ village.
Solaris showed up himself with a big wolf appearance. Beatrice did not scare after she saw a large creature in front of her. She might be familiar with the spirits now.
“Bia, this is Solaris. He’s an angle like Luna. We will ride on him. Are you scare?” Ilario asked her kindly.
Beatrice held out her hand to touch Solaris’s fur. She looks so happy when she touched it. She probably likes the fluffy fur.
“It’s all right. Bia did not scare. Bia will ride on angle,” said Beatrice cheerfully.
Ilario activated “Invisible” and rode on Solaris. We went to Artis Territory with normal speed. Beatrice enjoyed riding and seeing the forest. He was relieved that she like to travel by riding. He cannot use ‘Teleport’ because it might have bad effect to her body.
He inactivated “Invisible” before we reached to the area near suburb village of Artis.
We walked through forest, suburb village, and reached to the city gate of Artis.
Ilario asked a knight at the city gate about the way to go to Fortis Territory and Fortis Castle.
A knight was familiar with him. He saw him often come to the city of Artis. He told him the details and the direction without asking anything much.
Fortis Territory was a large territory that located next to Artis Territory. Fortis castle was located at the northern area of Fortis Territory.
As the words from a knight, he must go out of the West gate of Artis and travel on the road until he saw the direction sign of ‘The City of Fortis’ and ‘The Fortis Castle’. The direction of Fortis Castle was the way direct to the North. He must follow that sign and go no that road to the North until he saw the castle gate.
Normally, people spend time 1-2 days to travel by carriage between the city of Artis to The Fortis Castle but he planned to reach to The Fortis Castle within today.
We walked through the West gate of Artis. We saw the road ahead of us and the forest alongside the road.
Ilario looked for a place to rest after we walked for a while. He decided to walk through the forest on the side of the road for getting some rest. He did not want to be notice by the other people.
“Are you hungry?” Ilario asked.
“Yes,” said Beatrice, she was obedient and did not cry after we walked for a while. Even though she did not walk by herself, but she was tired by the hot weather.
Ilario found a good place to sit under the shadow of large tree. He activated “Light Barrier” and “Invisible” just in case. He took out the cloth, to lay it on the ground, and the lunch boxes from his bracelet.
“Wow…How could many things appear on your hand?” asked Beatrice.
“This bracelet is a magic item. It uses to keep many things inside. Did you know about magic?” Ilario explained and asked her kindly.
“Bia knows! Mom will teach Bia when Bia grow up,” said Beatrice cheerfully.
“If so, Bia need to eat a lot to grow up fast, okay?” Ilario talked to her kindly and prepared a lunch box for her.
“Okay,” said Beatrice obediently.
Ava and vita were flying around her. They like Beatrice and always stay beside her.
“Do you have a way to make her sleep? We need to speed up on our journey. I’m worried that her body might get some effect when we used ‘Light Speed’” mind communicated Ilario.
“Ava can make her sleep with wind power. It will not affect to her body because their magic powers were compatible with each other. I will tell Ava to do it after rested,” mind communicate Luna.
Beatrice finished her lunch and played with her spirits. Ilario cleaned up the area. Luna told Ava to make Beatrice sleep because we need to speed up our journey.
“We will continue to travel. Are you ready, Bia?” Ilario asked her kindly.
“Yes, Bia is ready” said Beatrice happily.
Ilario held her in his arm and prepared to travel with light speed. He activated “Invisible” for him and her.
Ava used wind power on her.
She fell asleep as soon as she got power from Ava, then fell into a deep sleep.
Ilario climbed onto Solaris’s back while he was holding her. He hugged her tightly to make sure about her safety.
Solaris was running with light speed on the road until we saw the direction sign showing the ways to The Fortis Castle, which has a sign of arrow pointed to the north of Fortis, and The City of Fortis, which has a sign of arrow pointed to the opposite direction.
We followed the arrow to The Fortis Castle.
Solaris was running continually until we saw The Fortis Castle in faraway lands, then kept running until we reached to the area near the castle gate.
We succeeded to reach here before sunset.
Ilario inactivated “Invisible” and walked on the road until we reached to the castle gate.
At the castle gate, Ilario could see the castle clearly even the castle was far away from the gate. The castle was very large, luxury, and located at the center of wide land.
“Who are you? State your name and business. This is the lord castle, not the playground,” said a knight rudely.
Ilario was annoyed at the way he rudely talked to him, then uncovered the hood to show his face to him.
“Ilario H. De Fortis,” said Ilario coldly.
All the knights at the gate were too shocked to speak. They hurried to open the gate for him. One of them ran to the castle while another one was leading us to the castle.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

From Fake Dreams
The Magus Killer was dying. He had done all he could to be a Hero and save as many people as he could. He killed his father to do it. He killed his adopted mother to do it. He killed his wife in the hopes to put an end to the need to do it ever again. He failed in rescuing his daughter as a result of his efforts. All he had left was a cursed and failing body, a sizable yet antiquated home in Fuyuki Japan, and his adoptive amnisiac son whose life he had destroyed in the first place. And then the dreams came. Dreams of War, Fire, Curses, unborn Gods, Heroes, and Monsters. Dreams of unresolved conflicts, promises, dreams, and tasks. Dreams with his nearly clueless son in the middle of it all. The Magus Killer was dying. But he could still prepare for what was to come. And fortunately, that was something he was still terrifyingly exceptional at. Currently at chapter 60 on FF.net

The First Half
"Kyran Hall, the Goddess Sada bestows you this gift." With those words, his life changed dramatically. He was granted a System, unique among all others, and abilities unseen before in the world. Granted boundless potential, he and his party would soon rise to prominence, becoming some of the greatest adventurers the world had ever see- *Ahem* Sorry, I've been told by the MC to say he's just an average guy. Nothing special about him. A traditional fantasy story with a (hopefully) new twist on the magic system. There's adventure, combat, monsters, magic, banter, and of course: pork belly. I'm new to writing fiction, and still learning to be more efficient in my brainstorming and editing process. If you have any feedback or suggestions, let me know! If you see any typos, mock me as much as you want because I should feel bad about it.
