《ONESHOTS》Even Devils Dream

Moonlight Sonata played angrily around the empty halls, it started in cold successions as every finger hits the ivory keys of the grand piano in the middle of the grand music room. Above the rain hits the glass panes that are supposed to oversee the litter of stars if not for the harsh rains that followed the night.
It was dark candles lit the sides of every pillar that surrounded the round hall, carpeted in red velvet lush was the grand black piano sitting gloriously at the center. A red curtain draped each window closed off as each of its tassels reached the floor. The room gave an eerie feeling as if any moment monsters can crawl out of the crevices of shadows hidden beneath the marble pillar that surrounded it, it was looming the feeling of fear and coldness in the air.
The melody played on and on furiously attempting to summon something that shouldn't be summoned like it was chanting a spell waking up the dead, it was deep it was low the sorrows and hatred all screamed with every note.
He was mad lost in his sonata, dreaming of moonlight on a hard rainy night.
Heels clicked on the black marble floors, and with every step rain and thunder crawled through the dark hallways, a melody seeping near he can hear the anguish it brought. The pain and loneliness it screamed, the yearning heart it resounded. Every step took out an ounce of his soul lulling him to beckon and follow the melody of death that lingered in the eerie halls, there he found himself in the middle of the dark, dimly lit room all too big for one person to occupy.
There he was eyes shut playing his whole being pouring out his soul in one score. His hair swayed and fell on his forehead, his scrunched brows, rosy reds that tinted his cheeks, his thin lips pressed in a fine line that opened up parts now and then as his delicate fingers press every key. Dressed in all blacks a picturesque image of a man in an agonizingly sweet and dangerous.

"Kimhan..." - Vegas
He opened his eyes dreamy and littered with stars that stared straight at me sucking my soul and breathing infinite fear as they abruptly turned into a cold icy stare. I breathe in fire unable to hold his gaze for long trying to be indifferent to one that is Kimhan. I walked in further nearing him, and as I laid my hands on the cold wooden piano his stares never left me as if studying every bit of motion I took even the slightest wink I dare not for nothing escaped his hawk eyes.
"Vegas" - Kim
My name rolled off his lips a little too endearing for me to hear which panged guilt in my heart a little. I smiled at him hoping to hide the regret, sorrow, and pity that the night has to offer. How my heart ached to see his gaze on me, he was emotionless as if life had taken every bit of emotion he had left and bottled them all off thrown off the sea.
He stopped playing the moment I called out to him, and then he continued again ignoring me who had now leaned on his piano my cheek that lie on the wooden surface as I gazed back at him playing the 2nd movement of the sonata intensely it hurt. As if it was crushing my temples thinking how it would be if he had held me at gunpoint.
He played and played as I listened closing my eyes feeling the keys touching my soul with every melody it creates.
He knows what was bound to happen, he knows even before I stepped into his confined room.
"Are they all dead?"- Kim
He asked monotonously not even looking my way as I opened my eyes to look at him.
"Yes .. Kimhan.."- Vegas
"hmmm.."- Kim
He hummed like it was a trivial question of the weather of the day, and continued playing his fingers fluttering like a ballerina rendering the swan lake on stage.
"Kim, we can.."- Vegas
"No... It's too late Vegas.."- Kim
"But.."- Vegas

Violently he pressed all keys of the piano that roared around the hall in a horrendous sound that hurt my ears as he looked fiercely at me. A panther stalking its prey, he reached out to me brushing his cold fingers at my cheek. His features softened as he played with the fringes of my hair until he clasped my jaws. I tried to feel more of his touch as I burrow my face into his palm seeking warmth at his cold hand.
"Vegas, we have no choice.."- Kim
It was pained somewhat and threw me off as I saw a glitter of tear that ran down to cheek on his right eye. I had to steel myself from breaking down in front of him we didn't need that now, emotions that doomed us from the start.
"I can hide you, I can take you away... Kim.."- Vegas
I dreamed of the sunny fields and a bed of roses in my front yard with you in it, smiling freely and happily walking through the afternoon with me, right beside me. Yes, I dreamed of it every time every single time I close my eyes and see you there, laughing and giggling with no care in the world.
"You have to live... I have no one left Vegas"- Kim
"You have me Kim you have me.."- Vegas
"We can't have each other.. Devils don't love"- Kim
He said his eyes flickering reminiscing something from the past. It dawned upon me what he wished for, what he clearly said. He drew his face to my lips brushing my nose, he pressed his to mine starting slow as he cupped my face lifting it from the piano I was leaning on. It was a long deep kiss, longing it meant to stay. It was cut off as we ran out of breath. Leaving me panting for air so as he but his eyes never left me even a second. I stood up and straightened my back.
"We can still ... Please.. "- Vegas
He shook his head and chuckled. He reached out for my hand entwining them as he smile unabashedly. So bright it hurt to see them for the last time.
"Even devils dream Kim.. we can.."- Vegas
"Vegas that is why it's called a dream, a dream it will remain. My Love.."-Kim
He held my hand tight as if not wanting to let go and nodded his head. He still smiled as the gun clicked right between his brows. Tears started to pool from my eyes, willing me to break and not go on further but he squeezed me.
"Don't cry my Love.. everything will be over soon.."- Kim
"I love you.."- Vegas
"I love you till the very end"- Kim
He kissed the back of my hand and felt my palms on his cheek.
"Goodbye My Love"- Kim
A shot resounded throughout the hall as his body fell to the cold marble floors and blood started to pool from his body reaching my shoes. His hands that fell from my grasp were long gone. I stared long at his lifeless form his eyes that was dim just stared at me like how he was the moment I stepped into the room.
Tears that felt endless trickled and fell from my cheeks, and the deafening silence that hovered afterward rang in my ear. It was done all of it was done and no more. The pain that bottomed out my heart became a void, it was all gone the moment the shot had taken his love away and died with him.
One step backward, he turned never looking back at Kim who was once his that now became a dream of his own. His heel came louder as he stepped out of the room a few clicks on his feet and a loud bang was heard again. A thud in the halls and followed by silence. The rain pouring in had mellowed and the thunders that came with it were gone like it was just all a dream.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
