《A different Mahabharat》13

My life has been unusually quiet for the past two months since the incident with the Pandav prince. Like calm before the storm, and that theory scares the living daylights out of me.

Being a princess is difficult, especially if your father is absent. All of the responsibilities fall on my shoulders, and my brother is of no assistance.

My thoughts were interrupted when my ride came to a halt. We appear to have arrived. I stepped out of my carriage after double-checking my dress and jewellery to ensure that nothing was out of place.

Immediately, all eyes were on me, and it took all of my courage not to cower.

I walked up to the entrance of the temple I was supposed to be on, my steps coated in faux elegance, my chin up and shoulder straight.

I kept my guard up, my stance alert, and my mind on the lookout for any underlying danger.

People bowed around me, and I struggled to keep a poker face, trying hard not to show my lack of energy in my face.

The jewellery was extremely heavy, and the dress only added to the agony.

I bowed in respect, trying to keep my long braid off my front, after successfully reaching the entrance without any clumsy act.

Taking off my shoes, I entered the temple, trying to keep my every move coated in phoney confidence.

When I saw my God standing there in all his glory, I could not help but smile.

All of this struggle and journey is worthwhile in the end.

When I saw my lord smiling down at me, my spirit was lifted and my energy returned.

The rest of the day flew by as I lost myself in the joy of being able to serve the one and only, greatest of all.

Time flew by, and it was soon time for me to return. So I finished my work, working hard to ensure that everything was perfect, and exited the temple.

Walking back, my gaze was drawn to a saint going about his business, but for some reason he appeared strangely familiar, as if I had seen him somewhere before.

My eyes made contact with his, and neither of us moved to break it.

His eyes also appeared to be familiar. I have seen those before but can not remember where......

I feel horrible for making your guys wait so long for update.

Anyways, here is your Christmas gift and Merry Christmas everybody.
