《Unkillable Loser》Chapter 15: Loser

Why?
Why is the most normal looking person in the room the scariest?
Black was behind me before I knew it with dead eyes and an exhausted tone. I have no idea when he got there, and judging by the shocked eyes of everyone down below no one else had noticed him either.
Altru gave another sigh.
“Black… you really need to stop popping up out of nowhere. It is absolutely terrifying. I swear I was even watching the stage the whole time…”
Black gave a cheeky smile that didn’t really reach his eyes.
“But your highness, it’s so much fun to watch people jump to attention when you speak. You should try it sometime.”
Black walked around in front of me and started to move every one of his fingers at once. The same diagram that the other mage drew over nearly a minute was completed in a few seconds. He didn’t even look down to see what he was doing. Black made the previous mage look like a kid playing with finger paints next to a master artist with a brush.
He wasn’t even giving me a chance to prepare myself, and I just stood there stiffly not knowing what to do.
Despite that. Despite just dealing with May’s situation, getting shot, ending up in a new world, even after everything.
I was so excited right now.
My heart was beating a million miles a minute and my inner nerd was raging.
‘Oh what powers do I have?! I wanna see! Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!’
Despite Black’s fast fingers I was getting impatient. I have had to wait for everyone else to be done. I’ve been patient. Let me see it!
Then the page popped up:
Tony Kiru
LVL: 1
HP: 1000/1000 Mana: 0.5/0.5

Strength: 1
Stamina: 1
Speed: 1
Intelligence: 7
Dexterity: 0.8
Vitality: Yes
Luck: 13
Special Attributes
[Stunted] [Regeneration] [Loser]
….
Huh?
“What the fuck?”
I was so dazed I said my thoughts out loud.
My health looks amazing, but what the hell is the rest?! I haven’t even seen other people’s stats measured in decimals. Yet both my magic and dexterity are below 1? I’m not even at the level of a normal civilian with these stats! I’m pretty sure they said 3 was a normal adult! Am I an invalid, what the fuck!? And why does vitality just say ‘yes’. The fuck is that supposed to be?!
The room was quiet again. This isn’t right. There must be something about my attributes that makes up for this dismal stats window. Stunted and Loser must be some god tier attribute despite how they first look…. Right?
“Uh… Mr. Black?”
“Huh?!”
Black, who had a confused expression on his tired looking face, snapped back to attention and looked at me.
“Um, can we see the details window?”
My voice was small and weak, I felt ridiculous. I thought about how Altru had made me wait to ‘inspire the soldiers’. Fuck, May should have gone last. The strongest person in the room comes up and then this? My face was starting to heat up. I couldn’t tell if I was just embarrassed, stunned, angry, or a combination of all those emotions.
“Right… right.”
Black quickly moved his fingers and brought up the details window.
Special Attributes
Stunted: Has poor potential for growth in both magic and strength
Regeneration: Can heal from any wound given time. This is not reliant on mana or HP.
Loser: Is disliked by a large majority of the gods. Cursed by the God of Summoning.

Oh look at that…
It got worse…
“Oh my…”
Black was mumbling in front of me.
“Hey Mr. Black?”
At this point I was feeling detached from the situation. This felt less real than transmigration. My voice came out calm but I think my brain had just stopped working at this point.
I repeated myself and asked a question in a daze.
“Hey Mr. Black? Is the god of summoning an evil god or something?”
I heard a couple gasps but focused on Black.
Black put on an awkward smile that looked a little pained. His next words were the final nail in the coffin.
“Actually, the church of the God of Summoning is the empire’s national religion…. And also the most popular religion among humans in general.”
“Heh…”
I broke.
“He he he hehehehe, ha hah HA HA HAHAHAHA!”
I was laughing louder and louder. The calm facade I’d had since I got here shed off and all that was left was someone who just had their dreams put in front of them like a delectable dish and then had it ripped away and thrown in their face.
I was laughing so hard it was difficult to breathe.
Oh boy, look at the moron here. He was sooooo excited to come to another world and now look. Here for a couple hours and he is the weakest mother fucker in the room. Even better, the main god of this world already hates me! No, it said that I was cursed. Cursed by a god. Am I going to be executed? They said the empire’s national religion was the church of the god who cursed me. I’m not just weak, I’m a heretic. No matter how good ‘Regeneration’ is I don’t think it will make up for all of that in any way.
Oh man; I am so fucked.
I continued to laugh as I started to choke. Oh boy I’m gonna keel over. Everyone was looking at me with a different atmosphere than when they were scared of May.
Black looked normal but a ton of the soldiers, the king/ emperor or whatever the hell his title is up in his box, and especially Altru were all looking at me with one unified emotion.
Disgust.
They were looking at me like I was dirty. Like I was the most horrendous creature they had ever witnessed.
“Demon…”
One small voice from who knows who broke the silence as I was choking from lack of air.
“The only one’s cursed by the God of Summoning are demons!”
I thought to myself as I sat there unable to breath, surrounded by people who were suddenly hostile due to something I couldn’t possibly understand after having been here for less than a day and with no one who could stand up for me on those people’s side. Cursed by a god, called a demon, and quickly falling into a deep pit I was certain I had no way out of, all the while laughing at the ridiculousness of it.
I had one singular thought that, despite everything till now, I had not had when it was likely all of the other transmigrators had already thought…
‘I wanna go home.’

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
