Chaeryeong stared at him with shock while the rest cheered for him.
"He didn't mean that, did he?"
She thought to herself until someone tapped on her shoulder, she turned around but who knew she would get the biggest shock of the day.
"Lia?!"
She said and everyone else started looking at her as she was too loud but all she was seeing at that moment was the girl in front of her.
"When did you come back from Canada?!"
She asked her while the other girl passed her the loveliest smile that ever happened in the history of mankind.
"You married and didn't even bother to invite me!"
Lia complained.
"I'm so sorry Lia, I thought you were 'busy' with your husband!"
Chaeryeong teased while Lia shot her a glare.
"Yep, we were really 'busy'!"
Chaeryeong heard a familiar voice.
"Soobin? What are you doing here?"
Chaeryeong asked.
"So do you want Lia to leave me in Canada and come here alone?"
Soobin replied to Chaeryeong's illogical question.
"It would've been better if she did."
Chaeryeong muttered under her breath but Soobin looked at her irritated.
"I heard that!"
He said while Chaeryeong made a clueless face.
"Heard what? I think you should consult a psychiatrist Mister Choi!"
Chaeryeong said as she started to run away. Soobin ran after her.
Taehyun was staring at Soobin who was still running behind Chaeryeong. Chaeryeong ran towards Taehyun and hid behind him. Soobin tried to catch her but Taehyun held his hand.
"It's not a playground, it's a party so please be sensible."
Taehyun said while removing his hand which was almost touching Chaeryeong's hand.
Soobin looked at him with confusion, he tried asking Chaeryeong about him with his expressions. Taehyun understood his signals and looked towards him with his piercing glare.

"I'm her husband, Kang Taehyun."
He said as he put his hand forward for a handshake.
"And I'm Choi Soobin."
Soobin said as he smiled. Lia came to them and Soobin held Lia's hand.
"And this is my wife, Choi Lia!"
Soobin introduced her to him.
"Thank god he's married or I- wait, did he just say Choi Lia?"
Taehyun thought to himself.
"Choi Lia? Do you mean-"
"CEO of Rival Tech & Ltd."
Lia replied and Taehyun looked at her with widened eyes, he could not believe that his inspiration was in front of him.
He had always admired her style of working, her discipline, her consistency, her intelligence and her patience. These qualities made her so capable that she became the CEO of one of the biggest companies in Canada.
"Nice to meet you miss Lia, I always appreciated your work and I want to collaborate with you in the future too, it's my dream!"
Taehyun became so excited that he started blabbering things he was thinking at that moment.
"That's really nice of you, but I'll see your capabilities first, try to get more than three projects and we'll see."
Lia replied, she don't compromise when it comes to business.
"Sure! I'll get three projects within two months and those that you will be planning to get."
Taehyun replied with confidence, he wanted to prove himself.
"I like your confidence!"
Lia replied and Taehyun smiled.
Taehyun was now smiling along with Chaeryeong, she was happy that she made Taehyun smile.
"Laugh all you can for now, but from tomorrow, start counting your days."

Rise of the Firstborn
[A participant in the Royal Road Writathon Challenge]As the inhibitor rises and the eternal flame is quenched, our lands shall be freed, and only then will the Princess be set to flee. It began with ice. A relentless, bone-chilling tickle of frost that stretched across the lands of Axulran, crawling over the mountain crests and freezing the grassy meadows. Frozen in time, the kingdom fought for political control all across the region of Ellixus, paying no mind to the death and torment they may cause along the way. Cateline Bennett, a princess consumed with ice, found herself lost in a foreign kingdom with nothing but her wits to survive. As she explores this unknown land, she unravels her past and discovers that the magic she had concealed for so long could unleash chaos so intense, it could destroy the world as she knew it. With her untapped magic and new friends, Cateline must vanquish the enemies that threatened the world of Denzethea as they knew it, else they, and all they knew, would crumble to ruin. NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
