Once when The King Akbar

Was told by the other courtiers,

"You're so discriminative My King,

Birbal is the only one you hear."

"Others suggestions are useless to you

You only understand Birbal's voice."

But then Akbar wanted to show

Why Birbal was his great choice.

So he ordered that minister

To ask the name of the bride,

In a wedding ceremony, while he

Asked Birbal to do so, the same night.

They returned with information

But instead of asking the name,

"Where will the procession be going?"

He asked both of them the same.

The minister revolted, "My Lord,

You asked me to find her name."

But Birbal told Akbar that

"Your Majesty, Allahabad, they claim."

Akbar smiled and easily solved

The query of the other man,

While he became more and more

His favourite minister's fan.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'

Proved himself the smartest of all,

And with his great skills, he won

The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
