《The Ballads Of Akbar And Birbal》3• The Crows Count 🐦

Once when The King Akbar

Was having a sweet walk,

In his beautiful garden he

Noticed something, and was shocked

He was astonished to see the crows

Making noises all around,

He wondered how many of them

Are there on his ground?

He commanded the ministers to count

The numbers of crows on his land,

Everybody knew it was impossible

Up ministers stretched their hands.

But Birbal easily and happily

Accepted the task of those crows,

And requested at least 3 days while

The others crushed their eyebrows

King Akbar grew curious

To see Birbal resting in peace,

The days passed and the king asked

"Will you tell me the answer, please?"

Clever Birbal peacefully said

There are 3 thousand and 52 crows

Akbar questioned, "Are you sure?"

"What if the number grows?"

"Your Majesty!", said Birbal

"If the number of them increase,

That will show that we've got

Some guests from overseas."

"And if the number decrease"

Added Birbal sounding all fine,

"That means some of our crows

Have gone outside to dine."

No questions could arise after this

The answers were all done,

And Akbar was satisfied

By the answers that Birbal had given.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'

Proved himself the smartest of all,

And with his great skills, he won

The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
