《The Ballads Of Akbar And Birbal》2• The Shorter Line ✏️
Advertisement
Once when The King Akbar
Was in the leisure of a little game,
He drew a simple line on the ground
It was forbidden to touch the same.
But the challenge was as follows
That the line should be made,
Shorter than what it is now
Without making any of its parts fade.
Puzzled went the courtiers
And leapt out of the race,
"How to make it shorter this way?
This is completely a gone case."
Then came forward Birbal flashing
A bright smile and an idea in his head,
He claimed to satisfy the King
According to what he exactly said.
He simply drew another line near
And longer than the other one,
While the others kept watching
To notice what just happened.
It was now clear enough
That the line King Akbar drew,
Became shorter in comparison
And longer the next one grew.
So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'
Proved himself the smartest of all,
And with his great skills, he won
The hearts of the crowd in the hall.

Aegis: Welcome to the End of the Universe
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Bernard's life wasn't particularly great. Living on the razor's edge of poverty isn't a fun place to be. Being forced to compete for jobs that you are overqualified for, against others that are often just as overqualified, was almost humiliating. There had been plenty of times where he wished his luck was better, that he could stumble onto an opportunity that would allow him to finally succeed in life. Change and opportunity is rarely easy though, particularly if the change in question is a drastic alteration to the world as he knew it. When his chance finally arrived he learned just how true that old adage could be. Be careful what you wish for. Also, monkeys are evil.

This story contains some mild profanity and dumb hijinks, Not everything is serious throughout this story and some things will not be explained because I do not care. Enjoy the story!

The Shadow in the Sunlight
"The light would never work with the dark. The existence of one brings pain to the other." The world is torn in two between two clashing empires. All who surround them must choose a side. The light, righteous beings of hope trying to destroy the devils that walk the land. The dark, barbaric monsters trying to bring the land into chaos. The answer seems clear, but is it as simple as it seems? Both believe themselves right... Both believe the other is evil... Time is running out. .............................
