《Love's Desire》A Kingly Demise

(Jadion's POV)
After I while I realised that I really needed to go back. Kat had been waiting for me for days. I sat up and pushed myself out of the bed. Vexian was still snoring. I could snatch glimpes of his toned and slightly muscular chest. I looked in his closet for my jacket but gaped as I found only extravagant robes studded with gems, crowns of all shapes and sizes all with different gems in them and no sight of my jacket. A few items of clothing caught my eye though. A soft, pretty pair of shoes, a pair of black trousers, a red, woollen jumper that looked like it had been hand-knitted by a particularly talented person and stood out from the all the baby blue clothes in the wardrobe and and a gold, surprising small crown with shiny rubies in it. I smiled, Vexian certainly had an eye for fashion. I decided to try them on.
I spotted an intricate mirror on the other side of the room and walked over to it. As I came closer to it the blinding light reflection from the window slowly faded away and revealed that I looked.... Amazing. I was about to wake up Vexian to show him but I heard a knock on the door. "Vexian? Todd says you came back rather late from your picnic. Are you alright?" I ran over to Vexian and shook him violently. "What the fuck? Jadion? Why are you shaking me?" He asked sleepily. "Vexian, is there someone else with you?" The mystery man shouted from the other side of the door. "Ah- Father! Nope, nobody here!" He yelled sitting up on the bed. "Well then I'll come in then!" He said and I heard him start to unlock the door. Vexian started and shoved me quickly out of the window.
"AAahHhHhH! vEXIaN! FuckiNG hElp!" I yelled, I had grabbed hold of the ledge. Vexian must have realised what he did then poked his head out of the window. "Vexian? Who's in there?" The man whom I assumed must have been Vexian's father asked, he had stopped unlocking the door. "Well he's technically not in here anymore." I heard Vexian say, whom didn't sound worried about me, a god, dangling precariously on his windowsill. "Help me get back up!" I whined. "Say please." He scoffed, teasingly at me. He put his head on his hand and smirked watching me. "VexiAN I'm gOING to fucKING die!" I yelled angrily at him. He rolled his eyes and said. "Well last time I checked a fall even from this height can't kill you." "FINEE! Please help meee!" I groaned, with extra spite on the 'please'. He held out a hand for me too take and he pulled me up.
When I clambered back into Vexian's room. A blond man with a bushy beard also dressed in beautiful detailed clothing glared at me. "So care to explain why you are in my son's room, wearing his clothes while he is topless?" I gulped. "Father I did take his jacket so he can use my clothes, he was sleeping over and I uhm.. don't have an explanation for why I was topless...." He coughed as he explained the last bit. Vexian's father glanced at me and muttered, "Who are you then?" I gulped and muttered, "I, uhm.. Am Jadion and ah- I like the color red?" I answered, this was very awkward. "I'm assuming you fucked my son. I'm guessing you were the- Ahem, top. My son always seemed like a bottom-" Vexian interrupted, his face flushed a strong tint of red, "FIRSTLY WE DID NOT FUCK! Secondly I'm not a bottom!" I didn't say anything because I was so flustered and I felt my face turn a bright beetroot-red. "Nope. Nothing you can say can convince me otherwise I'm leaving." He yelled, already out of the door.

"Uhm... Well this is my room." He mumbled, visibly uncomfortable. After about 5 minutes of silence I uttered, "Did you- I mean... Did you put me here- Uh sorry.. Did you want to sleep together or? Oh god this sounds wrong- Uhm, and also where is my jacket?" I stumbled over words, mumbling awkwardly. "Oh well your jacket is in a basket under the bed and that asshole Todd brought you up here, I didn't want to wake you up so I just left you there." He explained, more confidently. He was almost always so focused when saying facts. It sunk in that I had been staying in this world for around two human days without going back meanwhile Kat was still waiting after probably 12 full God-Hours!
I jumped up abruptly and said, panicking, "I've gotta get back right now! Could you pass me my clothes?" I said, failing to yanking off the jumper. "Hey! Don't do that!" Vexian yelled, stopping me from messing up the beautiful knitting. "Pull it gently." He said, concentrating on taking off the jumper for me. "Stop moving, are you trying to get it stuck?" I tried to take it off myself and finally achieved taking it off.
"What are you two doing in there? Are you guys...doing it...?" Todd yelled from behind the door. Vexian's face turned a bright red. "NO WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE KEEP ASKING THAT?" He bellowed. "Okay thank god- Oh sorry Jadion." Todd sighed. "Nah, It's fine dude." I replied, forgiving him.
"Vexian, you have classes and meetings. Jadion, you can... Uhm, do whatever I guess. No summoning any god or demon friends you may have? Or murdering someone. Or whatever bad stuff you gods do?" Todd said, almost asking himself. "I assure you I have no intension of killing anyone and for your information I don't have any friends thanks for reminding me about that." I insisted. "Excuse me! Am I not your friend you ungrateful swine?!" Vexian yelled, acting offended. I smiled and said, "Well yeah I guess you are."
I was sitting in the garden reading a book that Vexian had lent too me, all memory of trying to get back to my sister seemed to have wafted out of my head, a group of people sneaked through a window, into the castle, grimaces plastered of most of their faces. It was a few hours before anything else interesting happened, that is until I heard hundreds of loud trumpets blown, at least five bells rung with shouts and screams mixed in.
I instantly knew that this was no celebration or happy chimes. This was a terrifying sound. And I bet on GGS itself that it had something to do with that group. "Oh cupids." I muttered, definitely not ready for what was to come.
(Vexian's POV)
I was sitting at my desk when I saw the same group of people that trundled out of the forest stop under the window of my study. "Is it this window? Or the next?" One asked, it was the blonde. "The next." A male who I couldn't see directly whispered before getting out of earshot. I didn't care much until it clicked into my brain that they were trying to sneak into the room to the side of me.
My bedchambers.
My body froze before I slowly sat up and unsheathed a small but sharp dagger and opened the door. I sneaked over to the closed door of my room, hearing voices of different people. "I still can't believe we're going to do this." A male who was pretending to be irritated but even I could tell from his voice alone, was very concerned. "It's just one break-out. Nothing more, nothing less." Said a quite confident sounding person. "But.. Marco.. Have you considered that she could be in there for.. Well- A reason?" An unsure girl muttered, obviously worried. There was silence and I could hear backing-away. "I have considered that. But have you considered that this is my only parent? Think how I feel. I never got to grow up because they imprisoned her!" Stated 'Marco'.

I heard someone go towards the door and open it violently but not swinging it open. "No! Your the lucky one! You didn't see your parents die right before you eyes! I was three! Yuni's dumped her there at four! They didn't care about her! You have a parent!" I could hear the guy that was pretending to be irritated whispered, croakily. 'Marco' seemed not to have heard, or at least brushed the comment away.
Someone fully opened the door.
I took a swing at the person not caring who it was. "HEY TODD! JADION! SEND FOR HELP!" The blade hit a male's arm. Another guy pushed me off and punched me in the gut. My back curled and a trickle of blood leaked out of my mouth. "Fuck!" I yelled. I got shoved to the ground. "JADION! TODD! SOMEONE! ANYONE!" I screamed, someone must have heard me. One of the people stabbed me in the shoulder and I felt a jolt of pain. I must have screamed but I didn't even know myself. I tried to pull myself up but to no avail. "Ja-Jadion.." I stuttered out, my breath shaky and heavy. I needed to stop them. I had to do something. I was just useless at that moment. A waste in the battle that was to occur. I had to do something otherwise they could and would harm someone else. They left the blade in before running out. I heard people fighting out there and then someone rushed in to help me.
"Jadi-Jadion?" I asked, unaware if it was or was not Jadion. "Nope, it's me." Todd answered back. "Unfortunately, we weren't able to stop them. But there is people chasing them. We'll probably catch up to them before they go too far." He reassured me, a quick, fake smile was flashed at me before he started patching me up again. "Whoever stabbed you must have been pretty stupid, because they managed to stab you right into a vein instead of an artery." He rambled on.
Someone ran in, terrified. "Th-They aren't n-n-normal." He whimpered pathetically. His eyes had a pleading glint. He had a terrible burn on his cheek that looked like he was almost cooked alive. "One of them, a ki-kid with brown hair and a bodyguard th-that's seven to eight feet tall protecting hi-him, it's like he's magic! He was shoo-shooting out sunbeams that blinded us, then he-he shot flames from his palms. We co-couldn't get near the group! It's every m-man we've got fighting! They're invincible!" He explained, frantically and stumbling over words so much that we could barely hear him. I immediately shot up, grabbing my jacket and pulling it on. "VEXIAN VITALE, YOU ARE NOT GOING OUT THERE TO FIGHT WITH A STAB WOUND!" Todd screamed but t no avail as already I ran out of the door.
I could hear the great warning bells ringing even from the lowest level of the castle. My ears felt like they were going to be shattered. A few cowardly soldiers ran in the other direction, I heard one whimper, "Th-the throne room! They're hea-heading to the throne room!" and realised. These men were no cowards, for they were running straight into battle. I ran towards the throne room in the opposite direction.
I ran in the direction of the throne room until in the corridor right beside the throne room I saw our soliders fighting with all their might against the group of scoundrels whom wrongly invaded our great castle. I watched for a moment as blades struck each other, blood spilled carelessly from skin. And then I rushed in, picking up a blood-stained sword on the way, not caring if it was heavy or light. I lunged at a smaller boy. He panicked when he saw me and ran behind a guy who had just swung at one of our soldiers precisely in the stomach.
And shit was this guy scary. He looked around the second tallest of the group. I gulped instinctively and readied my sword in the defence position. He swung with a great force and I leapt out of the way, hitting my shoulder on the wall with made it sting and burn more. I noticed that he took a second to heave his sword back up. Then I had a brilliant idea. After I dodged I would swing almost instantly. He swung at me again and I jumped again. This time however, I kept my sword in the attack position instead and swung immediately after his sword hit the ground. I hit his arm and retreated backwards, that fucking hurt my shoulder.
I heard thumping of feet and watched a masked Jadion run towards me very violently. I cheered, but sadly I wasn't heard among the ear-shattering noise of shields blocking swords and shouts. I ran towards him missing another swing made by the guy who was attacking me.
He greeted me with a strong hug, which stung my shoulder, and picked up a short sword that looked light and comfortable. "Do you have any injuries?" He asked, tilting my face with his hand so he could check if I had any injuries, looking genuinely worried. "I'm fine, Jadion," I assured him, making a small smile. I was totally lying, my shoulder ached with pain. "are you okay too?" I continued trying to change the subject, although I was just as worried as he seemed to be. He nodded and then pushed me behind him. The guy from earlier was back.
He took a glance at Jadion, I expected him to run but he didn't instead he readied his sword and glared at me. It ended quite quickly, Jadion took one swing at him and almost took his arm off. This terrified him and he ran back to the little kid I tried to attack earlier. Jadion pulled me closer to him and glared.
There weren't many people in their group that were fighting, in fact I didn't see one of the gang who attacked me in my room. This worried me and then I saw the door of the throne room slam open and a boy who looked like he had dipped his hands, dagger and waist in blood. My heart dropped as the boy ran to the flames kid, whom by now I guessed was the leader, and frantically yelled, "HE'S DEAD!" the group all ran in the same direction simultaneously. The soldiers followed them, as they must have been too focused on fighting to realise what had just been bellowed, but Jadion and I stood still.
"Vexian, we've got to move with them if we want to fight." Jadion said, sounding concerned. I looked directly into his eyes, I could feel my bottom lip wobble and my eyes welling up with soft, salty tears. I broke the eye contact and threw open the decorated, blood-splattered door begging that Phillip, King of Midray was still alive and safe.
A tear flew down my cheek.
A second followed it.
And then a third.
I screamed out something although I couldn't tell what I said.
All I cared about was that his majesty- No, my father. Was laying on the floor.
His wounds were heavy.
He wasn't even killed to end his misery.
He was left to bleed out.
Still barely hanging on to his life.
I ran over to him panicking. Kneeling down, holding his hand I heard his last words. "Vexian, you will be a great leader.. This was coming for me-" He started, "NO! YOUR NOT DYING! WE'LL GET YOU TO A HEALING WARLOCK!" I yelled, tears now streaming down my face. Attempting to lift him and carry him to said healing warlock. "Vexian, do you think I want to die? The nearest healing warlock is in the highest tower in the castle, I can't go up there with these injuries. Now listen." He demanded, firmly and slapping my arm. He coughed before finishing his sentence. "This was coming for me anyway and I need too say that you aren't any old prince. I was a fool son, your mother wasn't just any old criminal, she was a witch and I was so wrong too take away your magic, we could've been such a happy family but then as you know she took your younger brother away and.... Well... I don't think he survived, it would be impossible for a year old child to survive like that, even with magic abilities. I want to say that I want you to be a great king. Say sorry to your mother if she ever appears again. She is probably going to be freed anyway one day, I know that you'll be able to tame her." He coughed and his eyes closed. "Don't forget me."
It had been about a few minutes since my father died but I couldn't stop crying. Sweet words were whispered out of Jadion's mouth as he cuddled me. "He's gone... I couldn't sa-save him!" I whimpered, hearing the loud battle even though it was in the dungeons this time. Jadion pulled me away. There was a slightly stern look on his face. "It was not your fault that he died. Don't ever tell yourself that it was your fault. You couldn't have done anything too save him, the attack was sudden and I could see your bandages, don't ever lie to me about having no injuries again." He persisted, a bit too aggressively for my liking but not hurtful enough to make me feel worse. I smiled, cheeks still drenched in small, salty tears.
Jadion insisted that my shoulder would be treated properly even though I didn't want to do nothing in the middle of a raging battle. He carried me to the healing stations, which were in full swing because of the literal battle raging inside the castle and stayed with me while I was being administered with: a matured healing salve (which was covered in layers of roots of hundlby and long muldrich herbs), pure runic candle smoke and yet more bandages. He held my hand during the entire healing process. The candle smoke was thick and heavy with different scents with definitely shouldn't have ever been put together in a single candle.
I was still burning for revenge at the gang that killed my only family left and let lose the feared witch of all time. But my rage would have to wait as I recovered slowly.

Mycology
Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!
