I pull back from Max

"War?" I repeat the word.

"Go back to class, we will talk about this later" Zack demands before walking away with Max

"Tell me now! What do you mean war?" I shout at them but they ignore me. "Come back here!" I demand

I'm left standing on my own in the hallway. I walk back into class and try to shake off what just happened.

At lunch, I hesitate my steps as I get closer to the cafeteria. I pass a few lockers before seeing Zed and a brunette haired girl making out against the wall next to the cafeteria doors.

"No one wants to see that, Zed!" I say, rolling my eyes as I pass them

I walk into the cafeteria and I immediately see Chase staring at me, watching me as I walk over to my brothers gangs table. I sit down next Hazel.

"I thought you were going to leave me with these idiots all lunch, alone" Hazel smiles

"I wouldn't do that, I just had music and it's boring" I sigh "my teacher held me back for 5 minutes because I feel asleep"

"Didn't you get any sleep last night?" Max ask's

"Well yeah, but not enough I guess" I shrug

Payton walks Into the cafeteria and stops at the end of our table

"Where's Zed?" Payton ask's

"By the cafeteria doors with some girl" I answer

"Well he isn't there now" Payton corrects me

"Why does it matter where he is?" Liam ask's

"I need to talk to him" Payton responds

"About what?" Cole cuts in

"Nothing important" Payton explains before leaving our table and walking back out of the cafeteria

"Well that was weird" hazel says as she looks at us all

I have a feeling it was about Chase

"I have to go" I say as I stand up

"See you later" Zack smiles

I smile back and then I run after Payton

The hallway is pretty empty but a few people are looking in their lockers and talking. I notice Payton turn a corner and so I follow him, but when I run down the other hallway, I loose him. He just disappeared.

I decide to go to my locker because Instead of the cafeteria because I didn't want to have to answer a load of questions.

I was walking towards the boys toilets after making out with Zoe, when Payton runs down the hallway.

"ZED!" Payton shouts

I stop and turn around, "what?" I say back

He walks closer to me and grabs my arm

"Come with me" Payton says before dragging me to an empty classroom.

Payton closes the door behind us and then crosses his arms

"What's this about?" I ask

"This is about you and Maddie" he claims

"Me and Maddie?" I repeat the words, he seems to sense my nerves through the way I say his words back at him

"Yes, tell me how Chase just happened to leave Maddie after getting close to being able to rape her and you just happen to show up after Chase leaves her" Payton questions

I shrug nervously, not trusting myself to talk

"Answer me before I give you my answer" Payton demands

"Alright Fine, I ripped chase off Maddie and then I took her home" I admit

I look down at the floor while Payton paces back and forth, gripping the back of his head. He stops after a minute and stares at me with wide eyes

"What?" I ask

"You like Maddie!" Payton sounds shook

"What? No! God, Payton!" I ramble my words

He actually laughs

"That was stupid, of course you don't like Maddie. You don't date and your a douche! You couldn't like Maddie, your just stuck up. You just keep ending up at the right place at the right time" Payton sounds relieved

"Yeah" I chuckle with uncertainty in my voice

Payton pats my back twice before opening the door

"Sorry dude" he says before leaving

What just happened?

After school, Liam and Cole walk me home because I'm still uncertain of the way. We don't talk the entire way home, they both have small talk now and again but I don't understand what they are talking about. The thought of War is still running through my head from this morning.

When we arrive outside of the house, I look at Liam and Cole. Liam looks towards the house and Cole just stands there confused. Non of us move, I don't exactly know what we are waiting for but I don't want to just stand here

"Well I'm going inside?" I say with confusion

They both nod. I look at then for a few more seconds before heading into the house.

Something is going on and I don't know what!

I close the door behind me and I run up to my room. I fling my bag off my shoulder and onto my desk chair. I then walk over to my window and pull the curtains to the side so I can look outside. The sky is brightening up and the wind is slowing down.

I should get out and explore this place, I need fresh air anyways. I change my outfit to something I haven't worn yet.

I grab my phone and a little bit of cash I've hidden in my school bags front pocket. I stuff the money into my front pocket and my phone in my back pocket of my shorts. Then I open my bedroom door and I walk downstairs.

The only person downstairs is Zack and he's way to focused on the Tv to notice me leaving. I quietly open the front door, I close it slowly behind me before walking away from the house and into the main streets of Los Angeles.

I walk past a few shops before coming across this shop with a gorgeous leather jacket in the front window. I decide to walk into the store and find the jacket. The jacket had silver zips and it was my size! Turns out the jacket is 130 dollars! I don't have that kind of money.

I try the jacket on and then I rip the tag off before anyone can see me. Then I grab a different jacket and hang it on the hanger that my jacket was just on, I quickly hang the other jacket back up and I carefully walk out of the store before anyone can see that I stole this jacket.

While I'm walking through the streets I notice a gang pulling into an ally on their motorcycles. I'd say it's stereotyping to say that people with motorbikes are in a gang but I've seen everybody with a motorcycle in a gang!

I walk past the ally, I make sure to hide my face but clearly I didn't do a very good job

"Maddie" I hear a voice come from the ally, deep and clear

I turn around and see boys from school, I've never talked to them but I've seen them around.

"H- hey" I stutter

"Come over here" another one demands

I hesitate a second before straightening up and walk over to the boys who are now leaning against their own motorcycles.

"Who are you?" I ask as I stand in front of a boy with Jet black hair that is pushed back, with a nose piercings and a tattoo on his wrist. The tattoo is a skull.

"I'm Josh" he smirks

"And I'm Callum" the boy next to him answers. He has brown hair with blonde streaks. His head is tilted with a smile.

I smile but I'm honestly confused on what they want

"So your Max's sister" Josh questions. I can hear the cockiness in his tone

"Yeah" I meet Josh's eyes. He has hazel brown eyes, the kind of eyes that stand out on sunny days.

"We never even knew he has a sister till you showed up at school" Callum admits

"We weren't that close" I shamelessly say

"Why not" another boy asks. He has his arms crossed and his head is facing the entrance of the ally.

"It's a long story" I reply

"Can you lighten up Harry!" Josh snaps at the boy with his arms crossed

"What? I don't like her, she's Max's sister for god sake" Harry snaps back

"Your one to talk" Callum cuts in.

"I don't have to like her" Harry frowns

Josh looks back at me and sighs

"Sorry about him" Josh apologies

"It's fine, what do you have against my brother?" I ask Harry. Obviously my brothers a jerk but what could he have done to Harry to piss him off?

"He sent one of our guys to jail" Harry shouts, turning his head to look at me. He has a disgusted look on his face as he spits

"I'm sorry he did that" I apologise

"That's in the past" Josh assures me

"In the past, I will NEVER forgive him or his gang for that!" Harry shouts

"Calm down, Harry" Callum demands

Harry stands up straight, he grabs my wrist and pins me to an ally wall. He lowers his head and whispers in my right ear

"If you or your gang come near mine, I will hurt you. And that's a PROMISE" Harry assures me

"Y- your h- hurting me" I stutter as the pain from my wrist takes over my body and all I concentrate on is the pain

"Your weak" he chuckles before letting my wrist go and stepping away from me

I fall to my knees, holding my wrist. I bit back a tear, I get to my feet and stare at Harry as his smug face looks back at me

"You should leave" Harry sharply demands

I nod, I walk out of the ally and quickly disappear into the crowd of people on the streets.

That's when it hits me, I don't know my way home!
