I walk into my first class. I spot hazel sitting in the front, I walk over and sit next to her

"Oh hey it's you!" She says with a smile

"Hey" I smile back. "Why did you run off earlier?"

"Oh I, Well, 2 of the baddest boys in school was heading in our direction!" She admits

"The baddest boys in school?" I repeat her words

"Payton and Liam!"

"Oh" I laugh

"What's so funny?" She asks

"Oh nothing"

While me and hazel were talking, I see Zed walk into the class and head towards the back. Taking a seat In the back row. I don't know why I notice him so much

After a few boring classes, we have lunch. I eventually find the cafeteria and my brother is sitting with his gang. He motions for me to go over to him so I do. But on the way to his table, hazel stops me

"Where are you going?" She ask's me

"To my brother" I answer

She looks at my brothers table and then at me

"Wait— Your brother is Max brown?" She sounds super surprised

"Yeah"

"One of the baddest boys in school!"

"Seems that way, yes"

She's taken by surprise

"Can I sit with you?"

I nod and she smile. We walk over to my brothers table as sit down

"Who's this hottie?" Cole smirks at hazel

"I'm hazel" she responds

"How are you settling in?" Max ask's me

"I'm good" I smile. I notice Zed isn't at the table. "Where's Zed?"

"Over there" Zack glances over to the hallway, I look over and see Zed making out with some blonde. I turn back to the others

"Is that his girlfriend?" My question seems to make everyone at our table laugh

"Zed doesn't date, he plays them and then moves on" Liam explains

"So, he's just playing her?" I ask

They all nod. HOW RUDE! He can't just play with girls emotions. I stand up

"Where are you going?" Hazel asks

"I'll be right back" I say before leaving the cafeteria.

I walk over to Zed and the gang can see me through the cafeteria.

"What's your problem!" I say as I walk up to Zed and that girl

They both break apart and stare at me

"What do you want Maddie?" Zed states at me

"Do you hate girls or something?" I shout

Zed looks at the girl and then at me

"Who are you?" The girl asks me

"I could ask you the same thing" I respond

"In April" she looks at Zed "who's this Bitch?"

"Don't call her that!" He snaps at her

"See you around, Zed" she says before leaving.

"What was that!" He snaps his head in my direction

"You can't play with girls emotions your jerk!" I shout

"God your nosy" he shouts back

"Look, I hate players and I'd appreciate it if you stopped playing girls" my statement seems to make him laugh

"I know your new and all, but just stick to you and I'll stick to me! Just because we live under the same roof doesn't make us friends" he says before pushing past me and walking into the cafeteria

What a dick

What have I ever done to him! I don't know why but I feel tears burning my eyes, trying to run down my face. But I won't let them. I run down the hallway until I find a private place which isn't going to happen. I end up in a dark empty room.

I sit in the room with my knees clenched to my chest for a while until the bell rings. I stand up and open the door. Someone leans against the open door facing me

The one and only

Zed

"What now?" I roll my eyes

"I saw you run off after our little, chat" he meets my eyes "you okay?"

"I'm not going to waste my breath telling you I'm not so, I'm good" I say as I try to push past him. Dang it he's strong. I bounce off him and stumble backwards

He chuckles

"What are you doing here anyways?" I ask him

"I'm waiting for some girl I just talked to, I think her name was lily" he says with a smirk

"Well have fun with the girl" I say. I try to walk past him again but he stops me

"Where are you going?" He looks concerned

"To class" I answer him

"Fine, see you after school"

He lets me go and I head down the hallway to try and find my next class.

After the school day ends, I wait at the entrance for my brother or one of his friends. I wait 10 minutes and I don't see anyone! I think they forgot about me.

Just as I was about to give up on them, Zed and Zack walk out of the school doors and over to me

"What are you still doing here?" Zack ask's me

"Waiting for you!" I yell

"Do we have to take you home or something?" Zed looks down the street

"Well I don't know the way" I explain

"Come on then" Zack smiles as he starts walking down the street

Me and Zed look at each other before following him.

We get home and everyone is quiet. What's going on?

"Why is everyone so quiet?" I ask as I put my bag down

No one answers me, instead they ignore the question

"Well I'm going to my room" I say and then I walk upstairs

I walk into my room and I see a note. I walk over to the note on my bed and read it

: Hello Maddie,

I know your scared of me, but I know that the only way I can hurt your brother is by hurting you. So I'm warning you now! If you do one thing wrong, I'm coming for you. If your brother does something wrong, I'll hurt you!

I'm glad you understand the danger

I put the note in my back pocket and I run downstairs
