"Where are we going?" Zayn asked after Harry picked him up from his house later that night.
He knew they weren't going to Harry's because he knew the way by now.
"Another surprise. One of...the real Harry's favorite places." Harry smiled.
"Oh yeah? This'll be interesting." Zayn smiled, looking out the window.
"Hopefully." Harry said.
"It doesn't have to be. With you there anything is interesting." Zayn said casually, not realizing how it sounded until after he said it.
Harry blushed, biting his lip. "Actually there's two places I want to show you." He said, just then remembering the second place.
"Cool. You know, it's nice to get out of the house. I've been out with you more than...ever." Zayn admitted, not sure that made sense.
"You're welcome." Harry smiled.
Zayn chuckled, looking at the radio.
He was tempted to reach over and turn it on but this wasn't his car.
He wished it was, though.
He looked around the interior and the way everything seemed to be lit up and so.....smooth.
Zayn never thought a car could be sexy but this one definitely was.
"How long have you had this car?" He asked.
"Um, since I was fifteen." Harry replied.
"What?" Zayn frowned. "You couldn't even drive then!"
"I know. I used to sit in it in the garage and pretend I was driving." Harry smiled at the memories.
"This one is my favorite." He added, stroking the steering wheel.
"I can see why. It's hot." Zayn chuckled.
"Hot? This car is...sex on wheels." Harry corrected him with a playful smirk.
"I agree. Does this sexy piece of machinery have a name?" Zayn smiled.
"No." Harry laughed.
Zayn looked around again, biting his lip. "Have you ever let anyone else drive it?"

"No." Harry repeated, not laughing this time.
Zayn nodded, realizing that wasn't going to happen.
Damn it.
"Here we are." Harry announced, making Zayn look up.
"A bookstore?" Zayn smiled at him, able to see him better now because of the light from the store.
"Not just any bookstore. This one is special." Harry said.
"Yeah? Why?" Zayn asked.
"They've never played a song in here that I didn't like. I find a book I like every time I go in. Plus the little old lady who works here thinks I'm a cutie pie." Harry said.
"Well what are we waiting for?" Zayn smiled.
The two got out of the car and went in, and Harry took a deep breath.
"I love the smell of the books." He said when Zayn looked at him.
"Me too." Zayn said, continuing to stare at him.
Harry blushed, biting his lip again.
"C'mon." He said, looking away and grabbing Zayn's jacket sleeve, leading him further into the store.
"Are you ever going to finish that sentence you started earlier tonight?" Zayn asked when they stopped in the science fiction section.
"What sentence? I start a lot." Harry chuckled, letting go of his sleeve and looking through the books now.
"About what my eyes do." Zayn smiled, watching him.
Harry blushed again, pretending not to be too concerned. "I don't remember what I was going to say."
"You sure?"
"I was probably going to say....your eyes make me think about eye health. They look healthy." Harry lied terribly.
"How exactly do eyes look healthy?" Zayn chuckled.
"Dunno but yours do. Be thankful." Harry said before he walked off to another section.
Zayn watched him, shaking his head and starting to look through the books himself.

An hour later they both found about three books each that they claimed they couldn't live without.
Harry bought them all using his card, which Zayn thanked him for several times.
"Here." Harry smiled, handing him the car keys as they left the store.
"Wait, really?" Zayn asked, raising his eyebrows.
Harry nodded, smiling even more.
"But I don't have a license." Zayn said.
"Well you know how to drive right?" Harry asked, carrying all of their books and walking over to the passenger side.
"Well...yeah." Zayn said.
"That's all you need. I've gotten out of so many tickets. It's all in the eyes." Harry smirked.
"That and exposing more of my chest than usual." He added.
"Nice." Zayn chuckled, getting in.
"Wow you have the seat so close to the wheel." Zayn observed, moving it back.
Harry smiled, shrugging and putting his seat belt on.
Zayn hummed with pleasure, feeling the wheel before he started the car.
"That's nice." He said quietly as it roared to life.
Harry bit his lip, watching Zayn.
Something about seeing him behind the wheel like that....
"Ready?" Zayn asked, looking at him.
"What- uh, yeah. Yeah." Harry stammered.
Zayn smiled, backing out of the parking space.
"Hey, take a right when we leave here. Drive until you see a lit up sign with a little coffee cup and steam coming out of it." Harry told him.
"So real Harry likes coffee." Zayn smiled, driving out of the parking lot.
"Actually no, he likes the chai tea. Only the chai tea from that cafe." Harry said.
"What the hell is chai tea?" Zayn frowned.
"A type of tea that tastes delicious." Harry said.
"Much better than coffee."
"I beg to differ." Zayn scoffed.
"Beg all you want." Harry teased.
"Whatever." Zayn said, driving faster.
He loved the way this felt.
Having control.
"Easy." Harry chuckled nervously, gripping his seat.
"I like to go fast." Zayn smirked.
"I see." Harry said, swallowing.
"Does that scare you?" Zayn asked softly.
Harry looked over at him. "Yes. But that's not necessarily a bad thing."
Harry was ready to go fast with Zayn.
He wanted to.
Desperately.
In fact he was slightly embarrassed because of how much he suddenly wanted it.
He felt like he needed to control himself, and calm down.
But he just couldn't.
"Good." Zayn smiled, stealing Harry's famous line and making him snap out of his thoughts.
Harry smiled down at his lap, realizing how hard his heart was beating.
This was going to be one hell of a weekend.

Godslayers
In the ancient, brutal days, the Eifni Organization reached heaven through violence and tore the gods from their thrones. Now their methods are more precise. Etheric technology allows them to measure love, create beauty, and reincarnate the souls of the dead into new bodies. By embedding specially-trained operatives—godslayers—into a culture, they can create the exact conditions to kill a god and save the souls it would otherwise devour. Lilith was a run-of-the-mill college atheist until a divine being took a bite out of her soul. Rescued by the Eifni Organization, she signed on as a godslayer. Now, after years of training, she's deploying on her first real mission to a planet called Theria. Objective: perform reconnaissance on the local pantheon and clear out as many of the gods as they can before the strike team arrives. There's just one problem: the Therians seem to know they're coming. Godslayers is a story about intrigue, meaning, and people being too clever for their own good. Updates Tuesdays and Fridays.
8 201Project Looking Glass: Freelancer
When a game can set you up for life, a man with a talent for analysis gambles his future for a new lease on life. While traveling on the colony ship Pioneer Michael Wolfe and many others are logged into Project Looking Glass, a fully immersive Virtual Reality MMORPG set on the world they are traveling to. At the end of the journey all players will be permitted to keep the land they hold in the game as their homestead for the new colony. Michael Wolfe must put away the books of myth and folklore and push himself to his limit to achieve the start to his new life. Updates will come by chapter as I write them, so don't count on a solid release schedule (though I will try for a few chapters each week). Edit advice is always welcome, but please keep it polite. ((Cover is just a working cover until I can get some decent artwork)) Be advised that I am currently focusing on Hero's Call. Project Freelancer will continue/be rewritten in parts when I have finished the story arc I intend for Hero's Call.
8 171The Chronicles of Shard: Never a Name Spoken
Shard, a world drowned, yet dotted with islands, is set at odds in a war older than memory. One, Lagoon, feels remarkably at peace. With the war far from their shores, they’re free to focus on a greater concern . . . the witch. Imprisoned upon Gabriel’s Tear, a nearby rock jutting from the sea, the witch crooned powerless in all her telepathic fury. Though all were awash with fear, should they wander within range of her all-seeing eye. Bedtime stories were told to keep children in check, lest they be whisked away in the night and devoured. None dared speak her name. Ciroc, a young boy, was soon to be enmeshed in her future . . . and that of the council, who controlled all in an iron grip. Not even Mother Sea could predict the outcome. Woe be to this blue planet. Woe be to this blue marble called Shard.
