《I Guess I'll Love You. (BOOK ONE)》CHAPTER 4- The Movie (MIC'S PERSPECTIVE)

Taco looked so tired I thought she'd fall asleep right by me. "But that'd be coming on too strong, right?" I sighed, pulling her closer. I didn't expect her to grab my hand, take it in hers, kiss it, then say, "Not at all."

I couldn't hold it off. I scooped her up in my arms and just hugged her. The meteors overhead were so loud, but that was okay. She was tense at first, but after about a minute or so, she eased and just laid there.

Once the meteors reduced, I looked down at Taco. She was asleep! I repressed a squeak of adorableness and let her sit there for 5 more minutes. In that 5 minutes, I thought to myself: does she like sleeping in the woods? I think she should move in with me... I'm worried about her. It looks like she hasn't got this good a sleep in days. I sighed and gently shook her awake.

"H-huh?"

"Do you want to save that movie till tomorrow, or?-"

She looked at me, a tired smile on her face. "I never want this night to end. Let's watch it now."

*AT THE HOTEL*

I carried her into the hotel, and an eruption of clapping came from everyone in the hotel. Weirdly, Pickle wasn't there. I quickly shushed them, showing them the now asleep bundle that was Taco. They all understood and offered me a sofa in the lounge.

When I sat down carefully, OJ asked, "She's sleeping well. Why'd you bring her in here?"

"We wanted to watch a movie. Really, I'm surprised she didn't wake up when you guys started clapping."

"Ah. Well, go into your room then! Good luck," he added, winking at me.

When I got up the elevator and I to my room, Taco was waking up again. "Oh, we're here already? Jeez. Anyways, what're we gonna watch?"

"Something scary? I know you're into that alien sci-fi. We could watch a scary sci-fi movie!"

She gasped, full of energy. "How about we watch a true crime doc?"

That sounded better than watching sci-fi in my opinion. "Sure! You can choose which one."

She chose an hour-long doc, called the Hello Kitty Case. We both got into bed, and since I lived alone I offered her a separate bed. She chose to sleep with me.

Anyways, when we were watching, she kept murmuring things like, "Why hide it in a doll? There was a lake just down the road you could have buried it in if you really didn't wanna get caught," and "Well, that's what she gets for betraying them."

She got closer and closer to me during the doc. Soon she rested her head on me. I put my arm around her and gently kissed her forehead. Believe me, I wanted to go lower. But I knew to take it one day at a time.

We stayed up late that night, watching more true crime. God she loved that show... it's creepy to me. Honestly, why would you like watching how failing the police system is, how they took a year to just investigate the smell and stuff like that? It kinda scares me.

About halfway into the 4th true crime doc, Taco looked at me. "Hey Mic?"

I instantly snapped my gaze to her."Yeah?"

"...Would you care if I died?"

I gasped at such a question. "Of course I would!" I pulled her closer, on a verge of tears for no reason. "Why would you ever ask that?"

"Not many people would. I just find it comforting that you do." She was crying. I could feel the tears on my shirt. "Taco, I-"

"I know. I shouldn't cry. Sorry for ruining our date..."

Did... she just call it a date? As much as I wanted to squeal with excitement, I remembered this was a serious moment. "Taco. Listen to me. Do you know how much I would care if you were gone? I'd... I'd not want to live, myself. I'd end up on one of these docs. I promise you, as long as I'm here, nothing bad will ever happen to you. I'd hate myself knowing I couldn't protect you. So..." I was crying now. "Please, just please, promise me you'll stay safe."

She didn't speak for a long time. She suddenly clambered to lie on top of me, and just hugged me, crying into my shirt. Finally she spoke."I promise, my love. I promise."

*THE NEXT DAY*

"Good morning! I made you breakfast!" I smiled at Taco, who had the messiest hair but still somehow looked hot.

"Ooh! What is it?"

"Pancakes." Hoping to impress her, I tried to flip one in the air but missed the pan miserably and hit myself instead. She laughed. "I think it's supposed to go back in the pan."

She seemed to had recovered from the night before. I smiled to myself, glad she was happier.

Once I had cleaned myself up, I came back from the bathroom to see Taco setting the table. "You didn't have to do that, Taco."

"I know, my love. I did it anyways. Now, I turned off the stove because you forgot to. Is it alright if I make something to go with the pancakes?"

"Help yourself."

When I finally finished the pancakes, I noticed she had a big bowl out and was using something to stir whatever was inside of it. "Harry Potter, is that you?" I laughed.

"No, it's Patrick," she jokingly shot back. I smiled.

"Well, Patrick, the food's almost done. Are you almost done too?"

"Yup! Just let me... perfect!" She sounded satisfied with herself.

"Need any help?" I asked her, getting up.

"Nonono, I want to surprise you! Sit!"

I sighed softly and sat down. Hiding my sight of the bowl, she poured the thick stuff into a bowl and got out some grain. Crumbling it up into the bowl, she carried it to the table. It was yogurt! I smiled. "Awe! You didn't have to!" She knew yogurt was my favorite.

"I know." She looked like she wanted to do something, but clearly considered it and decided against it. I shrugged and got to eating, same with her.

Once we were both done, I cleared the table and remembered Taco didn't live here. I started to frown. Did I just not say to take it one day at a time yesterday?- Whatever. I'm not letting her sleep in the woods.

"Hey Taco!"

"Yeah?" She looked over from washing the dishes. She's making herself at home already.

"Well, what if we could do this every morning?" I asked.

She brightened, a beautiful gleam in her eyes. "What time should I get here?"

"What if you didn't have to get here?"

"What're you saying?"

"Want to live with me?"

She gasped. I knew I shouldn't have said it like that! I-

"Yes. Just... yes."

Before I knew it, she ran up to me and hugged me, almost knocking me over.

I laughed. "Do you have anything you want to bring?"

"Nah. Never had anything to begin with."

I lead her to my bed-- no, our bed now-- and cuddled her for a minute. "Wanna watch more true crime?" I asked her, pulling away.

"Pull the shades, Mic! We're about to do a marathon!"

I laughed and went to pull our shades before hearing a knock on our door. "Got it, hold on!"

I opened the door to see OJ. "How'd last night go?"

I quickly exited the apartment and closed the door behind me. "I was gonna ask you about that! Would it be possible if Taco were to live with me for the time being?"

"So it went well?" He laughed. "Of course she can."

"Thanks OJ! Gotta go bye!" I went inside and closed the door. The bed was already made, and the curtains were drawn.

"Like it?" Taco asked.

I sat beside her on our bed and hugged her tightly. "I love it. Now let's get to watching!"
