The next day, the battles for the selection for the Japanese team started. Masamune won against Yu. It was time for Tsubasa and Kyoya's battle. Kyoya entered the stadium in ripped clothes.

"Whoa! Looks like he did a lot of reckless training", said Gen. Tsubasa entered after him with spirit. He looked straight at Kyoya and looked at Gen who was waving at him. The battle between Kyoya and Tsubasa started.

"Wow, both bladers are doing great. Wish I could battle", said Gen looked down.

"Hey, No need to be sad. I am sure there would be great battles for you as well. But not today", said Ryo. During their battle, Gen again felt something.

"Is anything bothering you, Gen", asked Ryo.

"Nothing dad, don't worry about me", said Gen. Gen saw that something was wrong with Tsubasa. Eagle tries to push Leone into the stadium floor but Kyoya stops it. As a result, Kyoya won.

"Don't you think Tsubasa was acting weird?", said Gen as she looked worried.

"He does not looked different", said Ryo.

"I thought... (seeing Kyoya leave the stadium) ...Never mind", said Gen as she goes near the door.

"Something is really wrong with Gen, do you think Director?", asked Hikaru.

"Well if she says she is fine, I think it's nothing to worry about", said Ryo even though he is still confused.

She went towards to find Kyoya. On her way, she was shocked to hear that Kyoya just showed his power to Gingka, not to come to compete alongside him in the tournaments. Kyoya left and she went towards Gingka.

"What? But why?", said Gen.

"He wants to defeat me, it is kind of a rivalry thing between all bladers. You won't understand", said Gingka as he walks away. She turned around and saw Tsubasa standing confused.

"Are you okay, Tsubasa? (Tsubasa was still in shock of losing) Tsubasa? Tsubasa?",said Gen. Suddenly Tsubasa was back to himself.

"Oh...Gen, I didn't see you there, I have to go", said Tsubasa as he ran off.

"Hey wait....Tsubasa", said Gen who looked suspicious.

A while later, Gen was at Ryo's office.

"Because Kyoya has backed out, there is still one spot open on Team Japan. What should we do now Director?", said Hikaru.

"Don't call me Director. I prefer to be called the one, the only, The Immortal Phoenix", said Ryo as he started to show actions.

"Please stop that, Dad. You are embarrassing yourself", said Gen.

"Sorry my bad. So what should we do Director", said Hikaru. Ryo gave up.

"It's not that big of a problem", said Ryo as Tsubasa's and Yu's picture came up.

"Hmm...Tsubasa and Yu, I wonder who would win?", asked Gen.

"Well if it's for Gen, she would be rooting for Tsubasa as you know Tsubasa is someone very very special to her...", said Ryo in a weird way.

"For the last time, he is not my boyfriend!", said Gen as she started to blush and Ryo started to laugh.

The next day, Tsubasa and Yu face each other in battle, Yu complaining he'd had enough of Masamune talking like he was above him. Tsubasa uses tactics to stop Yu from firing Libra's special move, but pulls it off anyway. As Tsubasa already knows how to break through this special move, victory looks to be his. At the last moment, Yu changes the frequency of the move, making it shine different colours, and stops Tsubasa's attack. Instead of fighting back, Tsubasa gives up resistance, allowing him to counter the special move and win the match.

"Looks like Tsubasa is the 3rd regular member of the team", said Hikaru.

"Yeah he did", said Gen.

The next day, the team was gonna leave for their first world tournament. Gingka, Tsubasa and Masamune were the bladers and Yu was the substitute.

"Next stop the world", exclaimed Gingka.

"I can't wait to battle", said Masamune.

"You bet", said Tsubasa.

Benkei tries to encourage Yu to look on the bright side of being part of the team as a substitute. That's when Gen comes in.

"Hey, guys", said Gen.

"So you came after all, I thought you won't show up because you couldn't be part of the team", said Gingka.

"Look, I didn't come here to wish you good luck to you Gingka, I came for the others", said Gen.

"Come on, Gen. Admit that you are jealous of me", said Gingka. And they both starts to argue.

"WHY DON'T YOU GUYS GIVE IT A REST", said Ryo coming in.

"He/She started it", said both of them.

Ryo announces the team's name is Gan Gan Galaxy and will be flying out to China. Gingka comments the name suits them perfectly, whilst Masamune complains it only suits Gingka perfectly. As Madoka turns up to be their support member as she now works for the WBBA.

"So I guess i will be seeing after the world tournaments ..", said Tsubasa.

"So i wont be seeing you for a long time, huh...well all the best for the matches..", said Gen.

"Thanks so what are you gonna do in the meantime...during the tournaments?..."

"I...actually never thought about it....maybe train with Accalia and get stronger and oh! After you come back, maybe we could have a re-battle?"

"Rebattle? You mean like a rematch...sounds interesting...but don't expect me to go easy on you because I too will get stronger with the matches coming up..."

"We will see about that....", said Gen as she looked at Gingka getting a hug from Ryo and laughing with him. She became sad and Tsubasa notices it.

"You don't need to be sad about it...(Gen looks at him) You can show your dad the next world tournament or maybe there is a chance that you can battle with us....", said Tsubasa.

"If that really happens...", said Gen looks down.

"...there is this thing I really wanted to talk to you about....it may cheer you up...I don't know..."

"Go ahead...I am all ears", said Gen with a smile.

"Well...I thought that maybe after the world tournaments are over or if we end up meeting in between, maybe you wanna..."

"Well if you have anything to talk about, Tsubasa is always there. Just give a call, Gen", said Yu as he starts making weird expressions and Tsubasa is shocked.

"Yu, can you come here for a sec", said Tsubasa as he dragged him away from Gen.

"What you think you are doing?", said Tsubasa.

"Well if you want to be with a girl like Gen, you should talk something interesting, you know. Not making her sad. I was trying to help, you know", said Yu.

"I wasn't making her sad....I thought of asking her out....after the world tournaments...and I just wanna know more about her...", said Tsubasa.

"So in a way...you really like her?"

"What? I like her as a friend...", said Tsubasa blushing.

"You are blushing....and plus you were staring at her everytime she is around. Can you explain that to me? Tsubasa, admit that you have it. I am not dumb you know", said Yu.

"Okay I have a crush on her....please just don't tell this to anyone...and by anyone I mean Gen too", said Tsubasa.

"Fine...I will not", said Yu as they both of look at Gen and Gen waves at them and smiles. Tsubasa keeps staring and waves at her.

"You are really stupid", said Yu in embarrassment.

After that the team left for China and Gen was all alone nothing to do.

At the same day at night, Gen thought about what Gingka said.

"Rivals?", said Gen looking at Accalia. She went to the office. Ryo saw her.

"Is there something wrong? Look I am sorry about you not battling in these tournaments", said Ryo.

"That's fine, Dad. But there is something I really wanna talk to you about", said Gen.

"What is it?", said Ryo.

"I want to get stronger with Accalia...and so I want to go on a training journey....", said Gen in confidence.

"A training journey? Sounds interesting.....", said Ryo.

"Please Dad....I want to find rivals like Gingka has....And I want to make my mom's dream come true too...I am not a little baby to be stuck..."

"You can go....", said Ryo with a smile which shocked Gen.

"You are not joking right? I mean I am really serious...", said Gen.

"Nope....But on one condition", said Ryo.

"What?", said Gen.

"I will send someone else on the way...you said you wanted rivals, right? So I think you will satisfied with him coming along..."

"What? No....Dad...I want to make my own rivals..."

"Then you are not going....if you want to go....do as I told you...", said Ryo staring at her which freaks her out.

"Fine...but whoever you send...has to catch up with me...see ya, dad", said Gen as she leaves the room.

"Gen?! Wait! (smiles) Oh it's gonna be someone...", said Ryo with a smile.
