Ryuga travels around the country, winning tournaments to gain Bey points in order to enter Battle Bladers. He starts winning a bunch a tournaments, gaining over 38,000 points. Ryutaro and Tobio join the Dark Nebula after being defeated by Ryuga. On the other hand, Gen was trapped in a room. She was still in the shock of losing to Ryuga. She was sitting near a bed looking at Accalia.

"We almost had him, but I don't know what happened", said Gen as she starts to have pain all over her body.

"What's happening to me? Why am I having pain?", said Gen. That's when Doji entered the room.

"Oh there you are, I thought you were crying like a little girl", he said.

"What do you want now, Doji? I did as you told me to, now let me go", said Gen.

"That's right, I forgot about it, but we are not gonna leave you yet", said Doji.

"What do you mean?", said Gen as she got up.

"I want you to join the Dark Nebula", said Doji.

"I will never, that's not the deal we had before, my job is done, I am out of here", said Gen as she went towards the door but it suddenly closed. She turned around and saw a remote in Doji's hand.

"Open the door", said Gen.

"Looks like I can't, I need more information about your bey, your bond, everything. That power you showed that day with Ryuga was marvellous and I must say that energy can be used for one of my projects", said Doji. Gen looks angry.

"Anyways you don't have anything to do with your brother Gingka and his friends. Why waste time with them while you can help me by acting as a lab rat?", said Doji looking at her.

"I said I won't help you", said Gen.

"That's your decision and we won't accept it, good luck staying here, Gen Hagane", said Doji as he left the room which made Gen unable to get out.

"Please, let me out, somebody", said Gen as she leaned towards the door and sat on the floor. She was feeling pain because of the damage caused by the battle between Ryuga.

At night, when Merci was shutting down, it was Tsubasa's chance to walk around the building freely to get information about L-Drago's power. He reached the control where the secret about L-Drago and Ryuga was kept. He was looking at the information and finally found the secret. But when he accidentally pressed a button, he found something Soon he went out of the control room.

Gen was lying in the bed but not sleeping. She was having a vision of her battling Ryuga. Suddenly her eyes turned into purple and her bey was covered in purple flames even though she was still in pain. But she became herself.

"What was going in with me?", she said. Suddenly an explosion occurs near the room's door. She got up from the bed and faced the door. She saw a bey on the floor.

"I know that bey", said Gen.

"That's because it is my bey", said a familiar voice as the bey went inside the smokes. The smokes disappears and Gen saw the person. It was none other than Tsubasa.

"Its you, Tsubasa. What do you want? Oh let's see, Doji must have told you to get me, isn't it?", said Gen who became angry and took her launcher.

"No, I came here to talk with you, to tell you the truth", said Tsubasa.

"Tell the truth? What are you talking about?", said Gen.

"There is much time, first we have to get out of this place, I will explain on the way", said Tsubasa.

"Why would I go with you? I hardly don't even know you", said Gen.

"You have to trust me, if you think that I am a member of the Dark Nebula, it's not the truth", said Tsubasa.

"Yeah, like you thought I was gonna believe you, stop lying, I will get out of this place but never in my life I will get out with you", said Gen turning away from him.

"Then I guess I have no choice, I am a member of the WBBA. They sent me here as an undercover to research for L-Drago and the plans of the Dark Nebula", said Tsubasa.

"WBBA? Are you still lying to me?", said Gen as she turned around.

"Here (taking out his WBBA ID and showing it to her), now you believe me?", said Tsubasa. Gen was observing the ID and suddenly she kept back her beyblading stuff.

"So you are telling the truth? Then tell me, Mr WBBA undercover, why did you tell this to Gingka and the others?", said Gen.

"The WBBA told me to keep it as a secret. Once I am done researching about L-Drago, that is when I will tell them. Now that I found the data about it, I have to leave this place before Yu and Doji finds about it. You have to come with me, this is the only chance we can escape", said Tsubasa.

"Why me?", said Gen.

"Accalia is a wolf bey and it is strong. Doji has a wolf bey too. He wanted to absorb your power to become stronger just like Ryuga. There is a chance that you could get hurt, that's why you have to come with me. I will take you back to your brother and friends. You can trust me", said Tsubasa. Gen did a lot of thinking.

"I guess there is no other way, I will go with you, till I reach my friends, is that a deal?", said Gen in suspicious.

"Okay, it's a deal, let's go", said Tsubasa as they both ran out of the room.

On the way, they were running through the corridor in the dark. Then they stopped near a corner as they saw some members coming that way.

"So...how are we gonna escape now, Tsubasa Ootori?", said Gen.

"The roof", said Tsubasa looking if there is anyone there.

"The roof? And from there, what do you think, we will fly", said Gen.

"You can say that but in my language, we call it jump", said Tsubasa as he moves forward.

"Wait you are joking right?", said Gen following him.

"I am not that type of guy to joke around", said Tsubasa.

"Oh you are a busy type, I forgot about it, only cares about himself and his bey, no wonder you never have friends....", said Gen.

"Do you want to escape or not?", said Tsubasa.

"Yeah.."

"Then keep quiet", said Tsubasa as he looked around.

"Excuse me, who are you to order me? I will talk whatever I want (Tsubasa sees someone coming their way and he says Gen to keep quiet), what is it now? I told you....", Tsubasa pulls her towards him and hides from two people coming in their way.

"What it it?", said one person.

"I saw someone in here, hmmm. Let's go", said the other and they left.

"Looks like they left, lets go before we are caught", said Tsubasa as he takes her hand and runs.

"Hey!",shouted Gen. They reached the roof. An eagle comes near them

"Sorry to keep you waiting, take good care of this", said Tsubasa as he was about to give the USB to his eagle but it was blocked by a bey.

"Hey Tsubasa, what are you doing in the cold? I am so glad to check on things, I knew that there was something fishy about you. Wait, is that Gen? So you two decided to escape together, too bad, you couldn't", said Yu as he takes his bey.

"I purposely allowed Merci's maintenance to begin, so you would feel safe and reveal your plans, but however I didn't expect you to take the girl, she is part of my project so leave her here. What's your game? Looking around for getting information about L-Drago. What are you upto anyway?", said Doji.

"Stay back, Gen. (As he blocks his hand towards Gen) If I have been caught, there is not much to say is there? You are the one who should answer the questions? What are you gonna do with all that power?", said Tsubasa.

"Hmm...I believe my friend that is none of your business. Gen, my dear, I said you will leave this place until you finished doing your next job, did I?, said Doji.

"Look Doji, we had a deal before and once I have done what you said, I am gonna go back where I came from, and no longer will do business with you", said Gen.

"Is it so? And when you go back, what will you do next? See your friends battle while you sit in the audience, is this why you came here? If you stay here, I promise you that your dream will come true", said Doji. Gen looks down.

"Gen, don't listen to him, he is trying to trick you in order to gain your power, (faces Doji and Yu) If you are gonna use a bey for evil purposes, then it is my business. I will defeat L-Drago", said Tsubasa.

"Defeat L-Drago? I thought you were gonna say something else, but defeating L-Drago you say, it's hilarious", said Doji as he started to laugh.

"Before you go, why don't we have a little bit of fun, shall we?", said Yu as a lot of bladers started to appear all around Tsubasa. Tsubasa then battles them and defeats everyone. Gen also helps. After that, they were about to escape but suddenly a helicopter came near them. It was Ryuga.

"Whose been disturbing me?", said Ryuga.

"Ryuga", said Gen.

"So what's going here? What's this mess about?", said Ryuga getting off the helicopter.

"My apologies to see this mess. But a rat has been let free", said Doji.

"He was talking about L-Drago and he is gonna take Gen too", said Yu. Ryuga challenges Tsubasa to a battle. Yu and Doji want to battle Tsubasa instead, but Ryuga begins to battle. Gen observes the battle. Eagle was loosing. Ryuga was going to do his dark move.

"Tsubasa, make Eagle stay away from L-Drago, you are gonna get hurt just like me", said Gen.

"What? Huh? Eagle, dodge it", said Tsubasa.

"Oh no...", said Gen.

L-Drago was gonna dash into Eagle but another bey hit it. A masked man appear in front of them and catches both Eagle and his bey Fire Blaze.

"Who are you?".

"My name is Phoenix", said the man.

"Phoenix?", asked Yu and Doji.

"I will take care of this battle", said Phoenix as he took Tsubasa and Gen with him and escaped. They flew away from the building.

They reached a forest.

"Why did you help us? Who exactly are you? Answer me", said Tsubasa.

"Perhaps you should tell me who you are? You are an investigator by the WBBA. A person like that cannot reveal his true identity, can he, Tsubasa?", said Phoenix. Tsubasa was shocked.

"Oh great, now I am stuck with two unknown guys who knows one another. Can anyone of you take me back to Bey City? I am going.....", said Gen as she walked away but she was stopped by Phoenix's bey. She was shocked.

"It's not safe for you to go on your own....especially during the night", said Phoenix.

"What do you mean? I can take care of myself....."

"Not gonna happen.....it's decided...You are gonna stay with your boyfriend....", said Phoenix.

"Boyfriend? (looks at Tsubasa) Not in a million years.....", shouted Gen as she starts to blush.

"You don't understand.....we just met today.....", said Tsubasa as he also starts to blush.

They sat near the bonfire.

"Its true, I entered the Dark Nebula to do undercover work for the WBBA. My orders was to learn Doji's plans and put to a stop to them but it didn't work out that way, not at all. But i am not finished with him yet, i am gonna enter the Battle Bladers and defeat Ryuga and L-Drago, got it?", said Tsubasa as he was holding his bey with anger.

"That won't happen, Tsubasa. Because as you are now, you cannot win against Ryuga. The only one who can win against him, is Gingka, he is the one", said Phoenix.

"What do you mean? Why can't I win? Why only Gingka? ", said Tsubasa.

"You saw it yourself, Tsubasa. You were helpless in that battle with Ryuga. Good thing Phoenix came in time", said Gen.

"You can only becomes strong, if you are on your own", said Phoenix.

"On my own?", asked Tsubasa.

"Try to know Gingka's friends first? Then you will see", said Phoenix as he was about to leave.

"Hey Phoenix, I...just wanted to say thank you", said Gen.

"Thank you? What do you think you are doing?", asked Tsubasa.

"He saved us from the Dark Nebula, Tsubasa. At least he helped us", said Gen facing Tsubasa.

"Looks like someone believes me, I will see you later, stay safe", said Phoenix as he leaves.

Gen looks at the spot where Phoenix was for a while and then sat near the bonfire.

"So what are we gonna do now?", said Gen.

"We have to stay here for the night", said Tsubasa. Gen observes Tsubasa holding his hand like he was feeling pain.

"Your hand? Is there something wrong? Are you hurt?", said Gen as she came near him.

"It's nothing....You don't need to worry about it...", said Tsubasa. Gen pulls his hand and looks at the scratch.

"Its a minor one but it can later be a big one....I think i can fix this", said Gen. She then takes something from her pocket of her jacket. It was a handkerchief. Tsubasa looked at her as she then rolled it around his hand and then bandaged it.

"There you go, you will feel better", said Gen.

"Why would you help me?", said Tsubasa.

"You helped me so this is at least I can do for you", said Gen as she got up and sat opposite to him near the bonfire.

"Thank you", said Tsubasa looking down.

"No, thank you (Tsubasa looks up)...if you have been not there, I would have been a lab rat for Doji's experiments...and I am really sorry for being mean to you..when I first met you, you seemed to be a great guy, but when my brother told me that you were a member of the Dark Nebula...."

"It's okay...you believed what was right from what your brother said and I don't blame you", said Tsubasa.

"Well..since I know who you really are, why don't we just start over....as friends?", said Gen.

"You want to be my friend?", said Tsubasa.

"Who doesn't want to be? You have friends, right?", said Gen.

"No actually.."

"Then today is your lucky day.....I will be your friend (Tsubasa looks at her) You will never be alone....I will promise you that", said Gen with a smile. Tsubasa gets shocked at first on hearing what Gen said but later he smiled.

"Okay, let's be friends (his eagle flies towards him and sits on his shoulder) oh hey (takes some food from his pocket) you did a great job, here is your reward (sees Gen looks at his eagle) Oh I forgot, this is my eagle, I guess you both met already..."

"Yeah...but nice to meet you, again (she smiles, his eagle flies towards her, Gen gets shocked, the eagle touches her neck which tickles her)....make it stop, its tickling me...", said Gen as she starts to laugh which also makes Tsubasa laughs.

"I think it likes you a lot...", said Tsubasa with a smile.
