《Amethyst x Reader (Steven Universe)》Chapter 2

There. You did it. Finally, after years of internally fighting with yourself, your biggest secret was out. You were looking at the ground, sure that Amethyst would think you were some weirdo now, and never want to speak to you again. Who falls in love with their best friend?
You, apparently.
Suddenly there was a hand on your cheek, and you forced yourself to look up at the gem in front of you. But what you saw was not what you thought you'd see. Amethyst was smiling, the biggest smile you'd ever seen. You didn't know what to do, or say. all you could do was stand there.
Amethyst took in a breath. "I can't believe it." She shook her head. "(y/n), I.. I never thought you liked me as any more than a friend. But, you do.." She was still smiling, but a look of disbelief had now come across her face. "All the 5 years we've known each other, I felt myself slowly falling for you. And now its finally happening."
She moved closer, cupping your face with both hands. "(y/n), I love you too."
You had tears in your eyes, but you weren't going to ruin this perfect moment to wipe them away. Instead, you wrapped your arms around her, pulling each of you closer together. Your lips were now just centimeters apart, each of you staring into the other's eyes. "Amethyst.." Was all you managed to say before she connected her lips to yours.
Pure happiness. That's what you were feeling right now. Your lips moving slowly against Amethyst's, neither of you wanting to pull away. You wanted this moment to last forever. Eventually, you reluctantly broke away from the kiss, and opened your eyes to see Amethyst staring back, eyes half lidded and contented. One of her hands reached around your waist, and the other still cupped your cheek gently. You both had smiles of pure joy on your faces, and Amethyst pulled you into a giant hug, almost lifting you off the ground again. You laughed, resting your head on her shoulder as she twirled around.

You heard a noise of surprise, then felt yourself being pulled forwards by the gem, as she lost her balance and began to fall backwards. Both of you crashed onto the ground, a cloud of sand flying up. Laughter filled to air as you both sat up, dusting yourselves off.
"Whoops." Amethyst chuckled.
"You klutz~" You teased, lightly punching the purple gem's shoulder.
Without warning, Amethyst pressed her lips to yours. Your surprise quickly went away, and you pressed eagerly into it.
"Woah! PDA Alert!!" You heard a familiar voice yell. You pulled away from the kiss, seeing Lars standing with his arms crossed, looking annoyed.
"Lars, I swear-" You were cut off by Amethyst jumping to her feet, shouting. "Oh, Please, I bet you're just JEALOUSSS~" She stuck her tongue out at the teen, then proceeded to pick you up bridal style. Lars gave a sound of annoyance, shoving his hands into his pockets and quickly walking away. "Amethyst, was that really necessary?" You questioned. "Hey, I gotta make sure everyone knows that we're together. Especially him." She said, carrying you towards the Gem's house. "What do you mean, 'Especially him'?" You said, confused. "(Y/n),seriously? That guy flirts, or attempts to, at least, with you, like, ALL THE TIME." She rolled her eyes. "That better not happen anymore, or I'll teach him a lesson."
"Hey, c'mon, you do not have to beat him up." You said, frowning slightly. "But I had no idea he was flirting with me.." You made a face. "But I guess if I didn't notice, he obviously wasn't very good at it." You said, laughing.

"Just tell me you love me, man." He said. I thought about and after what he said, my love for him died. There was no love. He wasn't the same man I fell in love with. He was different. He changed and I didn't love this new guy in front of me. "I can't." I said. He looked at me, tears in his eyes. "Don't do this, man. You love me, baybeh. I know you do."I bit my lip, trying hard not to cry in front of him. "August," I gulped, cursing myself because the tears I said I wouldn't shed, were shedding. "I don't love you anymore. I don't."
