, the longer it takes, so don't, okay." Lori told her son as she trimmed the back of his hair.
"I'm trying." Carl whined as Addy shot him an amused look.
"Well, try harder."
"You think this is bad, wait 'till you start shaving, that stings. Day comes you'll be wishing for one of your mama's haircuts." Shane looked up at the boy, doing something with his gun.
"I'll believe that when I see it." Carl grumbled.
"Tell you what, you just get through this with some manly dignity and tomorrow I'll teach you something special, Addy too." His eyes flicked from Carl to her as he mentioned her name.
"I will teach you to catch frogs."
"I've caught a frog before." Carl said, almost as if he was boasting.
"I said frogs, plural, and it is an art, my friend. It is not to be taken lightly. There are ways and means few people know about and I'm going to share my secrets."
Carl turned his head to face his mother but she rejected him,
"Oh, I'm a girl, you talk to him."
Shane chuckled, "It's a one time offer, kids, not to be repeated." His eyes flicked from Carl to Addy again.
"Why do we need frogs, plural?" Carl questioned, Lori humming in agreement.
"You ever eat frog legs?"
"Eww!" Carl exclaimed.
"No, yum! Just ask Addy." He nodded to the brunette girl who sat in a garden chair nearby.
"They are good, Carl." She said, smiling and looking over to the boy who was still grimacing. Shane nodded in agreement. The girl had caught frogs dozens of times before and it was almost like a second nature to her.
"No, he's right, ew." Lori spoke up, laughing slightly at Addy's words.

"Just wait, we get down to that last can of beans, you're going to be loving those frog legs, lady, I can see it now. Shane, um, do, do you think I could have a second helping, please, please just one?" Shane said, doing his best imitation of Lori, which was actually pretty good.
"I doubt that." She laughed and continued to trim her son's hair.
"Don't listen to her, kids. Us three we'll be heroes. We'll feed these folks Cajun-style Kermit legs."
"I'd rather eat miss piggy. Yes that came out wrong." Lori said, correcting herself a few seconds after, but Addy didn't see how they found it funny.
"Heroes, kids, spoken of in song and legend, us three, Shane, Carl and Adelaide."
Addy found herself smiling at the man's words, but suddenly what sounded like a loud car alarm echoed through the hills.
"Talk to me, Dale." Shane stood up and walked over to him, his playful demeanour vanishing and turning into a serious one so fast it almost scared Addy.
"I can't tell yet." The old man said as he looked through his binoculars.
"Is it then? Are they back?" Amy asked, not getting a reply.
"I'll be damned." Dale muttered.
"What is it?" Amy called up to him.
"Stolen car is my guess."
Lori wrapped her arms around her son and Adelaide as the alarm got louder, and eventually, a red car pulled up near the RV.
The car door swung open to reveal a very happy Glenn and Addy let out a sigh of relief that it was her friend and not a random stranger, but where was everyone else?
"Holy crap, turn that damn thing off!" Dale shouted over the blaring car alarm.

"I don't know how!" Glenn shouted back as Amy bombarded him with questions about her sister.
"Pop the hood. Would you pop the damn hood please."
Shane opened the hood of the car and thankfully managed to stop the annoying alarm as Glenn reassured Amy that Andrea was fine.
"Yes, yeah, fine. Everybody is. Well, Merle not so much."
Addy frowned at his words as a lot of eyes flicked over to her, making her feel very small all of a sudden. What could he mean? Was he hurt? Dead? He once told her nothing can kill Merle but Merle, and she started to pray his words were true.
"You crazy driving this wailing bastard up here? You trying to draw every Walker for miles?" Shane scolded as he leant his arms on the hood of the car.
"I think we're okay." Dale tried to reassure everyone.
"You call being stupid okay?" Shane fired back, this time more calmly.
"Well, the alarm was echoing all over these hills, hard to pinpoint the source," Shane looked at him incredulously, "I'm not arguing, I'm just saying. Wouldn't hurt you to think things through a little more carefully next time, would it?" The older man then gestured to Glenn, who was resting his arms on the opened car door.
"Sorry," He apologised, "Got a cool car." Addy would have found herself smiling at the man's words, but she couldn't keep her mind off what he had just said. What if Merle was dead? Daryl would throw a fit for sure.
Another vehicle rumbled into camp, but this time it was a larger truck. Familiar faces dispersed from the truck and Amy and Andrea smiled and laughed in relief as they reunited. Morales hugged his kids and then his wife as Jacqui and T-Dog hopped out of the truck and Addy smiled at both of them.
Lori took Carl by the hand and Addy got the hint she wanted to talk to him alone, so she walked over to the Dixon's private tent area before she heard,
"How'd you get out anyway?" Dale asked Glenn.
"New guy, he got us out." Glenn squinted up at the older man.
"New guy?"
"Yeah, crazy vato just got into town. Hey helicopter boy! Come say hello." Morales called to the new guy, who opened the truck door and walked out.
"Guys a cop, like you." Morales told Shane, nodding his head to the man wearing a sheriffs uniform.
A look of recognition flashed on Shane's face, and there was an exited shout from across the camp.
"Dad! Dad!" Carl. Him and Lori ran towards the man and they met in the middle, crashing into each other as they cried and laughed. The man kissed his son's head and walked over to his wife, Lori, and embraced her in a tight hug as
Something else flashed on Shane's face, but only for a split second as he made eye contact with Lori. The Grimes family was back together.
Addy hated the tears that stung her eyes as she climbed into her tent. The family outside laughed and cried as they reunited. The family Addy would never have.

The Goddess of Death's Champion
Eliot and Cel start off the same as any other peasant and climb their way to the heavens. At least, that's what a cheesy hook might say, however, Eliot and Cel have always had the attention of the Gods, Eliot longer than Cel but by no God more important. Even if it is their destiny to achieve legend status, they started out some where, and with only the semblance of a head start, not to mention that it makes for an interesting story. (If you decided to read because of a specific tag, some of them only show up later on in the story. I should also mention that romance is a significant focus but there is no romance tag besides the one in genre)
