The next morning
~Astride's pov~
I wake up and I feel disgusting so I go take a shower and put on one of Javons hoodies and Jayla's sweatpants. I brush my teeth and then go to Javons room to find him gone so I go downstairs where Jess is making eggs and pancakes. "Where's Javon" I ask her "he's out with Dj training" she reply's, "oh ok" I say going back upstairs.
I make it to Jayla's room "GET UP" I yell while shaking her "IM UP" she yells back getting up. "I'm gonna get in the shower" Jayla yawns, I give her a little nod before getting on my phone.
I start scrolling through insta when I see Javons post on my feed, so I decide to post him on my story.
Jayla walks into the room "so I was thinking maybe we can have a girls day since your always hanging out with Javon" she says "yeah that's a good idea" I reply "let's go get our nails done" she says excited. We tell everyone bye then we start making our way to the nail salon.
When we get there I tell the lady what I want and we make small talk for a while then Javon texts me.
The lady finishes doing my nails and Jayla was waiting on me because she finished early. "Let's post the nails on our story's" Jayla says, I grab my phone and take a picture of our nails side by side and posted it.
"Do you want to go to the mall now" I ask Jayla "duh" she says like it was obvious. We get in her car then start to make our way to the mall.
We get to the mall and just walk around laughing and trying stuff on when my mom calls.

"Hey mom" I say laughing at Jayla "hey Astride I have to tell you something" she says I can tell she has been crying "are you ok what is it" I say more serious, she stays silent for a minute trying not to cry "it's your dad, he.." she pauses "he died in a car accident" my heart drops and I start crying hysterically I drop my phone and fall to my knees.
Jayla runs over to me "it's ok" she says picking me up from the ground "come on do you want to go home" she asks, I just nod my head.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
