《Javon Walton x Reader》Chapter 7- The Project

It was now Thursday, and school had been going by very quickly.
Right now, I was walking to art class with Javon.
"Wanna work on our project together?" He asked. "Of course" I responded.
We sat at our table, then Mr. Goetz explained the rules for the project. "This will need to be worked on outside of class as well" the teacher said.
"Cool, so you can just come home with me if you want so we can work on it" Javon said. "Yeah sure" I said, giving him a warm smile.
"Wow. That's really pretty" Javon said, looking at my painting. I couldn't help but blush at the compliment. "Thank you" I said, smiling. "Although, it could use a little-" he started, not finishing the sentence.
He reached across the table, making his face closely brush past mine. I could feel my face heat up at the action, but I tried to hide it.
"Here. It needs some more yellow right there" he said, handing me the yellow watercolor.
It took me a good 5 seconds before eventually taking the paint from him, and adding it where it was needed.
The bell had just rang, dismissing everyone from their last class of the day.
Earlier, I made sure to tell Aj I won't be in need of a ride home, since I'm going home with Javon.
As I was walking down the halls, I looked down for just a split second, and ended up walking into someone.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, that's my bad" I quickly apologized to the red haired girl in front of me.
"Yeah, it is your bad. Watch where you're walking, you whale" she said, insulting me. I nodded, and continued to walk.
Once I found Javon and Jaden, we started walking to Jayla's car.

Javon stepped away from Jaden and walked over to me. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked. Not gonna lie, that girls insult had stuck with me. "Y/n?" He said again. "Huh- yeah, I'm good" I said, giving him a smile to convince him. He didn't look very convinced. "Okay, well you can always talk to me. Just know that" he said, putting his arm around me. I could feel my cheeks get warm, once again. I looked away, with the hopes that he wouldn't notice.
Javon and I were in his room, working on the art project. We had to paint a landscape piece, but we couldn't use a reference picture, so it was pretty easy.
"Okay, now that we have the background hills, wanna help add some details?" I asked him. He nodded while smiling. "What should I add?" He asked. "Whatever you like, it's your painting too" I said, smiling.
It was now 6:00, and we had just finished our painting.
"Wow, this looks amazing! You did a great job" I said, giving Javon a high-five. "Thanks, but that was all you ma" he said. Ma? Hmm, it's probably nothing. "We're definitely gonna get an A" I added.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go out this on the table to dry" Javon said, walking out of his room with the painting in his hand.
What I assumed to be Javon, walked into the room. "Hey, my dad's making burgers for dinner, wanna eat with us?" He asked. I thought about it, but I just circled back to what the girl told me earlier. 'Watch where you're walking, you whale'.
"I'm actually not that hungry, so I think I'll head home. Thank you though" I told him. He raised his eyebrow, again not sounded convinced. "Okay, I'll tell Jayla you're ready" he said, walking out of the room.
Once I got home, I stared at myself in the mirror for a while. "There's no point in doing this. I'm just gonna bring myself down" I said to myself, sighing. I guess I'll just lay down...
