《The Thunderbirds and The Phoenix》Chapter Seven

I wake up because of TB2 as it approaches London Bridge, the bridge is closed. I flinch, preparing myself for impact. Thankfully, the bridge opens just in time and TB2 flies through without a problem. TB2 soars through the sky, eventually hovering over Jubilee Gardens, as people start to run away and scream. Eventually TB2 lands in the gardens, crushing an ice cream stand as it does so. Mullion grips my shoulder as we get out of our seats. The Hood leads us down to The Mole, getting in. "Set a course for the vault." The Hood announces. The Mole emerges from TB2, running over a child's bike before stopping. It starts to drill down into the ground as people run over to stand by the rail to look at the scene. "Sir, if we stay on our present course, we'll sever the monorail subterranean supports. Shall I correct our position?" Transom announces. "Stay on course." The Hood smirks. "But Sir, we'll cause a major disaster." Transom exclaims. Well, it looks like she does have a heart. "No, we won't. The Thunderbirds will." The Hood cackles. He definitely doesn't have a heart, the maniac. "Activating electromagnetic pulse to disable the Bank's security systems." Transom announces. "ETA, one minute." Mullion reads off the screen. All too soon, The Mole begins to break through the Vault floor. The trio and the two guards exit The Mole, Mullion pulling me out and pushing me into a corner. Then, the trio decided to start taking everything. "Look at all this gold!" Mullion exclaims. "Stay focused Mullion, nine more banks to go." The Hood smirks. The trio continues to empty the vaults. I even see, at one point, Transom take a bracelet out of one of the drawers and stick it down her bra. I wonder what happened to the others and how the monorail is.

As TB3 arrives, the people look around and watch as we land in Jubilee Gardens. We quickly take off our belts and get out of TB3, running towards the side of the bridge and look over the Thames. There are three ships circling the area where the monorail went under. Their alarms wail. Suddenly, the monorail and TB4 appear on the water in between the search boats. I hear a man yell "There they are!" As we start cheering. The people looking at the scene also cheer and clap. "Yeah! Way to go Alan!" Gordon shouts. We run over to the pier as Alan and Kayo run up the steps to meet us. "Glad you could finally join us." Alan exclaims as dad hugs him. "Hey, don't go getting cocky after one mission. We still have a dangerous situation here. I need you boys to close down this accident scene. Kayo, go get Fermat and Phoenix, meet us at Thunderbird One. Alan, you come with me." Dad commands, running off with Alan. However, Kayo stays with us. "Kayo, what's up?" Scott asks.

"Well, Phoenix isn't with Fermat." Kayo explains as we turn to face her. "She wasn't pushed into the freezer with us, she was taken to TB2, but she isn't there. I can only assume that she's with The Hood." My heart drops at this, as I start to internally panic.

"Okay, dad will find her, don't worry, go get Fermat. Let's clean it up, guys. John, you go with dad." Scott commands as he and Gordon go down the stairs to the Thames with many police and ambulance officers. Virgil runs in the opposite direction towards the authorities parked cars and the crowd.

The Hood has discovered a vault with a diamond in it. Lady Penelope has snuck up behind him and is pointing a gun at him. "Ashes to Ashes as diamond is to diamonds. Lady Penelope, what an unpleasant surprise." He muses as he turns around. "Don't be rude. I can't tell you what a pleasure it would be to use my little finger to pull this big trigger," Penelope says as The Hood tilts his head. "Don't move!" "Mullion." The Hood grins, whacking the gun from her hand as Mullion picks her up. "That's not cricket." Lady Penelope exclaims. "I'm sorry. The only part of sport I ever liked was winning." The Hood smirks. "How ghastly." Lady Penelope shudders as Mullion sets her down inside the vault. She whacks him with her handbag just before Mullion handcuffs her to a rack of gold bars. "Finish her off, Mullion." The Hood commands. "Shame on you, I always despise a man who delegates the important jobs." Penelope tutts. The Hood chuckles and walks away as Penelope turns to Mullion, who's looking at her. "Oh dream on, sad act. How are you, Phoenix?" Penelope asks. Mullion laughs and grabs her chin, making her face him. "I'm ok, Penelope. What's happening outside?" I ask. "A lot has happened. I'll explain when we get out of here." Penny replies.

Mullion leaves the vault and walks over to a different one. Mullion puts on a tiara and starts chucking bags of gold up to Transom who sits on top of The Mole. The Hood walks over and Mullion stops laughing. "The Thunderbirds. They're here. Kill them." The Hood announces as Mullion takes off the tiara. He signals to the two guards who run off with him and Transom. The Hood starts to pace against the wall, occasionally looking over at Penelope and I. Suddenly Jeff enters the room and spots Penelope and I. "Penny! Phoenix!" Jeff exclaims as he runs towards us. "Jeff, no!" Penelope exclaims as Jeff stops and turns around.

"Did you save them all this time, Jeff? Or did you leave someone behind?" The Hood asks. "I didn't make you what you are." Jeff states. "It's not me you have to convince." The Hood smirks as He motions to Alan who is now standing by the entrance. Jeff looks over at Alan and then back to The Hood. Jeff then runs forward. "Leave my son out of this." Jeff yells as The Hood's eyes glow. Jeff is sent flying into the cage/vault with Penelope and the door slams shut. Alan hasn't spotted me yet. "Dad!" Alan yells, running over to the side of the cage. "Dad! Dad!" "I'm disappointed in you Alan." The Hood sighs as Alan turns to face him. "I thought we were kindred spirits." "Well we're not. I'm a Tracy." Alan growls as he runs towards The Hood. "Yes..." The Hood hisses. "No!" Jeff yells "... you certainly are." The Hood finishes. "Alan, no!" I yell as The Hood's eyes glow again. Alan is thrown across the floor and ends up hitting a wall, crumbling into a small heap. "Alan!" Jeff and I yell as Jeff attempts to get up, holding onto the bars of the cage. I attempt to move towards Alan, but The Hood grabbed ahold of my cuffs, growling. He spins around, his powers allowing him to float up to the metal ledge above Alan, still holding me. He crouches, setting me against the railing before standing up again.

Alan crawls along the floor and then gets to his feet. "Alan, stay back." Jeff warns him. "You want so desperately to walk in your parent's footsteps." The Hood snarls as he extends a hand and his eyes glow. Alan's hands go to his throat as he is raised off the ground and begins to choke. Jeff crawls towards the door, yelling "Let him go!" "Did you really think you could challenge me?" The Hood laughs. "Let him go! Please!" I beg, as Alan continues to choke. "Let him go!" Penelope cries out. "Please! Let him go." Jeff yells. The Hood let's go, but only because he is getting weak from using his powers. Alan falls to the floor, seemingly unharmed. "Seeing as you so desperately want to follow in your parent's footsteps, let's see your beloved mother become minced meat." The Hood exclaims, picking me up by my hair. At this stage, John has joined Alan on the floor. "I'm glad you could be here to see this, John." The Hood cackles.

The Hood uses his powers to start The Mole and dangles me over it, as I start crying out in pain. "No!" John yells, as The Hood laughs. I'm able to grab the metal ledge but then The Hood lets go of my hair. He then stands on my right hand. I yell and let go with that hand. "Goodbye Phoenix." The Hood cackles, as he stands on my left hand. I yell but don't let go. The Hood takes his foot of, almost ready to use his powers on me. I give John and Alan the 'Get-ready' look. I start to swing my body back and forth, the two boys getting my idea, get ready to catch me. I increase my momentum before letting go of the ledge. I do a double flip in the air and land in the duo's arms. John takes one look at the cuffs and conjures up some water, which he splashes onto the lock. Surprisingly, the lock rusts quite fast and is able to be opened in one hit. Once they're off, we turn to face The Hood, who had watched my escape happen from his platform. I can sense the rest of the Tracy's, Kayo and Parker behind us.

I blind The Hood with embers from my wings as John makes the platform below him slippery with ice. The Hood stumbles and falls onto the platform floor, dazed. The three of us regroup before Alan starts to throw little stones at The Hood as he stands up. We hurl different things at him, stones, harmless fireballs and little icicles. We wanted to hurt him, not kill him or injure him greatly. All too soon, The Hood becomes tired at dodging our ammo and collapses, exhausted. Alan glides down to the floor as John and I fly over to The Hood, grabbing his kimono with our talons. We lower him down to the ground, where Scott and Virgil grab ahold of him. Then John and I join Alan a little bit away from the others before we transform back to our human forms. By this stage, Jeff and Penelope have been released from the vault/ cage. Before the rest of the family can come over to join us, my legs wobble and give way, John catching me before I hit the ground. It made sense as the cuffs I had on absorbed any powers. I was still conscious as we walk ahead of the family, exiting the bank. John carries me over to TB2 and lays me down on a bed in the medical bay. We hear The Mole returning to TB2 and Virgil enter the control room. Over the comm, I hear Jeff, Gordon and Alan in TB3, and Scott, Kayo and Fermat in TB1. As we take off, we fly over the bank, where we can see Penelope getting in FAB1 with Parker and the GDF police put Transom, Mullion, the two guards and The Hood into GDF containment vans. Then we're enroute to Tracy Island.

When we've landed back at Tracy Island, we all get changed into our normal clothes before we get checked out by Virgil in the medical room. Thankfully, I'm declared healthy, except for some scratches and bruises. Later on, near sunset, we get in the pool. Since John injured his arm, he floats about on his inflatable pink lounger, splashing Scott. Virgil, Gordon and I are throwing a ball to each other, while Jeff makes the only thing he can make on the BBQ. "Nice catch!" Gordon exclaims as I catch the ball.

"Scott!" I yell, throwing the ball towards him.

"Get him!" Virgil yells as he and Gordon tackle John off his inflatable. "Get off!" John exclaims. I laugh and swim towards the steps near the BBQ. As I grab my swimsuit cover, which is lilac in colour. "...Jeff what did you put in these fajitas?" Lady Penelope inquires.

"It's a Tracy secret." Jeff replies with a smile as Lady Penelope laughs. I stand beside Penelope, talking about her life in London, when Jeff starts to ring a triangle. "Gather round everybody, I have an announcement to make," Jeff announces as we line up in the order Scott, John, me, Virgil and finally Gordon. Alan, Kayo and Fermat line up opposite us and Jeff stands in between the two lines. Penelope, Parker, Brains and Kayo's parents gather together behind Alan's line. "Tonight is a special night. We're all together, because of three very special people. Fermat, Kayo, Alan. The world needs Thunderbirds, but the Thunderbirds need you." Jeff starts to hand them an International Rescue badge.

"Mr Tracy." Fermat exclaims.

"Thank you, sir." Kayo says. Just before he gives Alan his badge, Jeff smiles and says "Congratulations Alan. No shortcuts, you earned it. You all did." Parker started crying, saying "I'm not usually an emotional man, but sometimes even the toughest nut must crack." Kyrano puts a hand on his shoulder as Onaha hands him a handkerchief.

"Hey, way to go sprout!" Scott exclaims.

"That's my boy, Alan!" Gordon yells. They push him into the pool and then jump in after him, Gordon and John pulling Fermat in too. Kayo and I stay out of their reach, staying dry while Jeff and Penelope laugh. I turn to face Kayo. "Do you ever think that they'll end up together?" I ask her.

"Who?" Kayo inquires.

"Jeff and Penelope." I smile.

"Hmm, probably, I mean, look at them, acting all flirty." Kayo agrees. At that moment, Penelope glances over, obviously hearing our conversation, before winking at us. Then Jeff's mobile begins to ring. The boys continue their banter, though. Jeff immediately answers the call. "Yes Madam President." He says, as the chatter stops. "I see. Of course, straight away." Jeff ends the call. "Boys and ladies." He announces as the boys get out of the pool. Jeff turns to Penelope and smiles. "Sorry, Penny, duty calls." He explains. "Of course it does. And quite right too." Penelope smiles, "Maybe I could come back to paradise tomorrow, if that suits you?"

"It's fine with me, see you tomorrow. Come on ladies!" Jeff exclaims, seeing Kayo and I still down here. Penelope winks at us before we run off with Jeff. Scott, Virgil, Gordon, John, Alan and myself stand in front of our respective shoots. The elder four Tracy's and I look to Alan. Jeff smiles as he declares "Thunderbirds are go!" Alan smiles as we all look towards Jeff. We enter our shoots and soon, the alarms start to blare around the house. All too soon, TB1 and TB3 are taking off.
