《Crazy Little Thing Called Mate》\SIX/

It didn't take too much persuading my father into allowing me to attend the human university.
"Him finding his mate is the best thing that's ever happened to him, I can't wait to meet her and thank her personally." I said into the receiver of my cellphone.
Ash chuckled on the other end, "well I can definitely see how that would be a good thing, him being a little distracted and all, use it to your advantage kid."
I smiled but rolled my eyes, "I'm actually heading into town right now. Told dad I had to get the lay of the land, which he bought."
"Well good luck, and I know you're short on time Eve...but don't go too fast." He instructed, I knew better than to undermine his authority even if he isn't my pack Alpha, I could hear the seriousness in his words.
"I'm new to this Ash, but I'm not an idiot."
"You don't know how WRONG you are Evie...when you're mate is involved you will do just about anything to make them happy, even if it means going against your own morals."
"Goddess Ash! You act like I'm just gonna throw myself at this guy just because he speaks to my wolf."
"J-just watch yourself kid, and if you ever need me, you can always call me." He sighed.
I promised him I would heed his warning and finally hung up before heading straight into town and then made a 'B' line for the bar.
When I walked in this time, I was immediately engulfed by HIS scent.
It definitely perked up my wolf but she wasn't ramping up to come out or anything.
I quickly zeroed in on him behind the bar, he seemed to be wrapped up in a conversation, he had both hands supporting his body as he leaned forward against the bar, his sleeves of his dark blue top pushed up just under his elbows, a rather cocky sort of grin on his face...this only defined his strong jaw even more.

I realized I was just standing there, staring. So I grabbed the same seat at the bar as last time and awaited him to serve me.
With my gaze fixed on the bottles behind the bar I could literally feel him walking closer to me. I collected my senses, this time I wouldn't be a bumbling fool in front of him.
I looked up at him and damn near got stunned into silence.
He is so very attractive.
"Hello." I finally got out in my most convincing 'I'm totally use to talking to guys as hot as you' voice.
He gave me the smallest little smirk and I swear my wolf began to stir even more than before as she was now fully acknowledging his presence.
His smirk was fucking amazing.
"Hey, I remember you, water with a lemon right?"
I mentally scolded myself while trying to play it cool but I couldn't help but blush at him calling me out on my last order here at the bar, "well that's the thing, I'm not much of a beer drinker so I'm not sure what to order."
He spoke to me about fruity drinks but the conversation seemed very natural. I couldn't believe how much better this encounter was going with my mate.
I couldn't keep the smile from my face, everything about him made me purely giddy.
He offered to make me a girlier drink that he assured me I would like and I couldn't refuse him
Just like last time I watched him in depth as he made my drink, watched the way his large arms moved as his wide shoulders flexed when he reached for varies bottles.
"So what's your name?" He asked suddenly pulling me from my mindless gawking of his perfect back.
"Everest."
He nodded and turned "that's an interesting name."
It was the usual response I get when I tell people my name. "Well one of my brothers calls me Evie, and what about you mister bartender, what's your name?"

Of course I had already been given his name by Janet.
He let out a deep chuckle a little before responding "Caleb ."
"Caleb" I sounded, the name suited him well and I just liked saying it if I was being honest.
"So what brings you back to the bar Evie?" He asked as he finally passed the drink toward me.
I carefully took the drunk as I mentally prepared myself for the bitter taste of alcohol but was more than pleasantly surprised to find it only tasted of sweet fruits. "I like it." I admitted with a smile.
Suddenly my eyes got distracted by a slight movement of his hand, I kept my eyes locked on his hand and watched with wide eyes as he physically grabbed himself right in front of me.
Now I'm no prude or a virgin but I was never really one to check out a mans "package" but boy did his pants seem awfully tight right in the groin region.
"I'm glad to hear it." He sounded, his easy words pulled me once more from dark thoughts beginning to form in my normally level head.
We continued to talk about why I was in the bar and as I talked I drank and he listened.
Before I knew it Janet was shouting "last call" and I had all but lost count of how many times Caleb had "freshened" my drink up.
"Alright babe, how do you want to handle this tab?"
'BABE'
The word hit me in all the right spots and I was practically sliding off the barstool with excitement.
"I'd use my card but my father would probably shift and straight up rip my throat out." I giggled. "Cash-money, I've got." I smiled proudly and began to rummage through my purse for my loose cash that I had purposely pulled out to come here tonight.
"It's too dark in here." I pouted.
"Let me babe." He smiled gently before reaching behind him and pulling out a brown leather wallet.
"No...no I got the dollars, they're somewhere." I hiccuped.
"It's fine, really." He insisted.
I watched as he swiped his card, "I can pay you back."
"I'm sure babe, but how about we get you home safe...can you tell me where you live?"
My eyes went wide and I shook my head in an almost childlike manner, "nope, we can't go there, not right now."
"Well" he smiled and leaned down against the bar so that his face was near mine. "Do you have somewhere you can go, or am I just gonna have to take you back to my place?"
Once more I giggle in an uncontrollable fashion, "I think you just want to take me home."
He chuckled, "you're drunk Evie."
"Am not." I protested, and this was partially true. You see Werewolves don't exactly get drunk so easily...we have a drink it goes down, we have more and more and we move on to tipsy...but I'm a light weight, and I had reached tipsy some time ago, I was almost drunk but I had nothing to worry about as our bodies process the alcohol quicker and there fore gets them out of our systems faster. Meaning a absorber drunken state.
"Come on then, you're coming with me because I don't know where the hell else to take you."
I got up and teetered a bit, that is until a warm arm wrapped around my waist. "Woah." He sounded.
"I'm good." I said.
Even I heard the slur in my words.
"Come on babe, let's get you to my place."
I let him lead me out of the bar and knew that at this point I was about to do anything this man wanted to do.
