《Pen Pals {MXTX}》6- Letter be told (finally)

"'To whoever my pen pal is, hello! I'm Wei Wuxian!
Before I say anything else, I have to tell you this one thing.
And that is...
You are one lucky human being!
Honestly, lemme tell you that being my pen pal- actually, let's just call each other friends okay? Pen pals sound so I don't know- so- weird.'" Xie Lian stopped at this.
"Uh, I don't think I can read this out loud anymore."
"Oh, I'll do it!" Shi Qingxuan offered excitedly. "Okay ahem, continuation," the boy cleared his throat.
"'Anyway, being my friend gives you so many advantages! If you ever come to my school, I can show you the best seats in the cafeteria... What bathrooms you should avoid... And what's the best way to sneak junk food into class!
Oh, and by the way, I don't really like to write letters so how about I give you my phone number? Oh wait, but you are a student from Qingfeng...
I heard Qingfeng students never break the rules, right? They all are well dressed and well mannered and well everything, right??
Well then you can continue writing letters to me and I'll just text you back the answer. How about that? Hey, that will be such a good idea!
To be honest, I have no idea what to write in this letter.
But now I do have to ask you a question!
Okay so, what would you save if your house suddenly burned down into ashes and consumed by a mass of raging fire?
And you could only save two things! Okay, bye, I'm done. Cya!
-Wei Wuxian
P.S Do you like ice cream?
P.P.S- Do you get good grades?
P.P.P.S- Have a good day!
P.P.P.P.S- look at how many P.S's I have written lol.'"

Shi Qingxuan finished reading the letter, scratching his head.
"That is one unique pen pal you got there," the boy told his classmate, handing the letter back.
Lan Wangji, "...mn."
"Yeah, for real, what kind of question is that?" Shen Qingqiu said in a quizzical tone, eyeing the letter as if it would start sprouting more gibberish.
"I don't know, but it sure is an interesting question! Say, what would you save if your house burned down? I would probably save my clothes, but then again why would my house burn? Haha," Shi Qingxuan chats.
"Oh, and I will also save my pet panda," the boy then added.
"Wait, you have a pet panda??"
"Well..." Shi Qingxuan glanced sideways at Shen Qingqiu. Then with a gleam in his eyes, he said, "Not yet!"
"..."
Shen Qingqiu turned away. Still, Shi Qingxuan grabbed the boy on the shoulders and asked gaily, "How about you Shen-xiong? What would you save if your house burned down??"
"We are literally in dorms," Shen Qingqiu responded.
"Oh yeah," Shi Qingxuan dropped his hands from Shen Qingqiu's shoulders. But then he sprang back up and turn to Xie Lian, "Xie Lian, why don't you open your letter??"
"Sure," Xie Lian agreed.
Lan Wangji turned back to his desk and brought out a paper and a pen. He began silently writing on it.
The rest of the boys turned around and huddled together with Xie Lian in the middle.
Xie Lian unfolded the letter.
"..."
"Wow, Xie Lian! Your pen pal is a foreigner."
"...I don't think so, Qingxuan, I think that's just his handwriting."
"That is one unique handwriting," Shen Qingqiu remarked.
"..." Xie Lian doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"How are you supposed to read that?" Shen Qingqiu asked, emphasizing the that.
"I'll manage," Xie Lian replied briskly, taking out a pair of glasses, "I'll just have to decode this."
He then pushed the round silver glasses up his nose and busied himself with the letter.
Shen Qingqiu and Shi Qingxuan stood there watching the occupied boy for a while. Then Shi Qingxuan went back to his seat, saying he should probably write his response letter.
"I'm gonna use Lan Wangji's pen pal's question!" he said cheerfully.
Now back in his seat, Shen Qingqiu was hesitant to unfold his letter. Could his pen pal also be someone who's:
A. Lazy and uninterested
B. Annoying and talkative or
C. You can't even tell what they are like because you can't read their handwriting.
"..."
Shen Qingqiu unfolded the letter and started reading.
...Huh. Surprisingly, the guy seems normal. A little on the optimistic side, a little hopeful sounding. The handwriting is neat.
The boy's name is Luo Binghe, and it seems like this Luo Binghe genuinely wanted to be a good pen pal and make a new friend.
Well, Shen Qingqiu wasn't going to complain.
✨
Lan Wangji tries to put the letter back into the envelope. But there seems to be something inside being in the way.
The boy turned the envelope over and a paper figure fell out onto his desk.
It was an origami figure.
A bunny origami figure.
"..." Lan Wangji picks up the bunny.
On the side of the bunny, it said, Unfold me!
"..." Lan Wangji unfolded the paper figure.
A paragraph was written on the side of the unfolded sheet.
It reads:
I like bunnies, do you?
Don't worry about not being able to fold this into a bunny again, if you like it, I can send more! I like making origami and especially bunnies!
I'm sorry if my letter isn't what you expected, I don't like writing letters, I don't know how to write one.
But I do want to be your friend! Even if I don't really know you.
Here, how about you tell me what your birth name is? Mine's Wei Ying!
Lan Wangji: "..."
The boy puts the paper in the envelope along with the letter.
✨
Thank you for reading!

Re: Level 100 Farmer
When Li’s level 100 game character is transported to a fantasy world, he realizes he is unstoppable. But…all he wants to do is be a farmer? Watch as Li tries to maintain his peaceful daily life in a chaotic world full of magic and knights.===Foreword===Slow Pace: This novel does have a slow pace with things building up piece by piece over time. However, this also means that the further you read, the more connections will begin linking up and the more the story will start building up.OP MC: The MC in this novel is extremely powerful from the very beginning. If this appeals to you, then check this novel out.Crafting/Farming Warning: This is a warning to say that if you are looking for a novel that focuses entirely on a crafting system or farming, then I have to say that this novel does eventually move on from the whole farming premise, getting much larger in scope overall.===Doever Writing Quality Guarantee===I can give a solid guarantee that the writing quality of this novel is of the highest tier on this website. Even though I would like to go through many of the initial chapters for a proofread, I still believe the writing quality is top notch for this website. There will be very few mistakes, and the few that do slip by me will not affect readability at all. Now, you may not agree with how the novel develops, but I can at the least guarantee that you will have no trouble actually reading what happensOf course, I am not perfect, so please feel free to point out mistakes and problems and I will be more than happy to fix them! But most importantly, whether you have criticisms or enjoy the book, thanks for reading!
8 2366Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. If you should find this story elsewhere or under another name, please let me know. Also please don't be too hard on me when I make occasional grammatical mistakes, English is my third language after all. XD Edit suggestions are very welcome though. Discord
8 2527I'm Just a Nameless Side Character in a Vampire Romance Novel
I cried myself asleep after reading the ending to the "Rose and its Thorns" only to wake up as a nameless side character that dies before the novel even begins! Rose and its Thorns is popular webnovel about Julia, the female lead who is sold by her evil stepmother as bride candidate of the Rose Empire. It's a powerful but notorious Empire ruled by Vampires and populated by all the non human races of the world. In the end she had her happily ever after with the crown prince of the Empire, but Eclis, the Grand Duke and the second male lead dies with a broken heart. The novel updated nearly every week and I read it as it published for 3 years! I don't know how I got here but I'm going to thoroughly enjoy myself in this world and correct this novel to the ending Eclis deserves! Release schedule: Wednesday, Saturday at 2:30pm PST

8 163Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
