《Falling in love with the Muslim girl ✔》Chapter 2: Brody, the popular guy

Malik and I were walking towards our lockers, Malik's locker was next to mine which was really practical. We opened our lockers and dropped our books from the last class in it. Amina's locker was a little bit further down the hall.

"I'm really not looking forward to the four day trip next week," I complained to Malik.

Schooltrips weren't really my thing, I wasn't one of the popular girls at school but I did know a few people. Luckily I had Amina, I wouldn't know what to do if her class wasn't coming. When our teacher announced the trip, I immediately texted Amina asking if she was coming too. If she wasn't, I would have called in sick.

"Hey, maybe this time it will be fun. Euhm... I think," Malik said trying to soothe me, which wasn't working at all. "Just make sure Amina sleeps in the same room as you and you'll be fine," he continued while taking a bite of his apple.

"Speaking about Amina, there she is," I pointed towards Malik's car.

"And how was your day my lovely friends?" Amina asked as we arrived at the car.

"Sitting in class all day? Not that exciting." Malik replied, unlocking his car. "Let's go home" he finished.

"Well well, it seems that the well-known Brody is back this year," I said as I pointed at him. "How the hell does he get through every year?" I added.

"Oh here she goes again," Amina said rolling her eyes.

"What?!" I asked.

"Nothing habibti, let's go home," she said, raising her arms in defense.

I slid in the backseat of Malik's car and Amina sat in the passenger seat next to Malik. They were busy talking about random stuff whilst I was thinking of Brody. And no, I wasn't thinking of him in that way.

In eighth grade Brody started at my school and I had a few classes with him. He's the typical popular guy, who plays football and only hangs out with the popular guys and girls at school. Luckily, that didn't include me and thank God for that. I can't stand looking at his handsome face let alone talk or hang out with him. Yes handsome, he's an attractive guy even though I hate him. He gets a lot of attention from girls and I can't blame him.

He's around six feet tall and is muscularly build but not too much. He has dark brown hair that is shorter on the sides. I've never liked him anyways so his looks didn't really matter much to me.

I've been wearing my hijab since the eighth grade and the first year wearing it was really tough for me. I had Malik but when he wasn't around, a lot of people would mock and laugh at me shouting things like 'terrorist'. Every time I walked alone in the hallways they would whisper random things. And not the good kind of things.

And 'The Guy', Brody, was also a part of those people. Nothing specific about my faith but names like 'nerd' or 'loner' would leave his big mouth. Until this day, he still hangs out with the guys that called me a 'terrorist'. Since then I can't stand his handsome little face. God, I need to stop calling him handsome or thinking about him in general. But he was just...

"Safia!" Amina shouted looking directly at me.

"What? what happend?" I asked, worried when she pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Dude, we've been shouting your name for like an hour now," Malik exaggerated.

"We're at your house now, are we going to see you on time tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yes for sure," I answered while I was getting out of the car.

We said our goodbye's and I kept waving until they were out of sight. I looked at the clock on my phone and saw that it was five pm already. I unlocked the front door with my keys and went straight to my room.

Taking my headscarf off would always feel like heaven, mostly when I had it on the whole day. I was home alone as Amin was still in college and Mom still at work. I still had one hour until I needed to pick up Yassine from the speech therapist so I decided to take a short nap. I set my alarm at a quarter to six and jumped on my bed. Before I even knew it, I was fast asleep.
