(A/n: sorry for disappearing like a Blackpink comeback T.T so I moved to London for uni and omg it took so much time to finally adapt to my new surroundings. Anyways, (J)hope you all enjoy this finale chapter that took too long to publish and thank you all for joining me on this lovely journey :( )
It's almost been a week since you told Tae you want to confront your parents, he seemed very excited for you even though you were pretty nervous.
"I don't know, maybe it's not a good idea after all." You said as you were both in the car with your parents' contact displayed on your screen.
"I'm here to support whatever decision you make in the end, but I think it's a good idea because it will put you at ease. You'll finally be freed from the thing that suffocates you the most."
"Jimin said the same thing." You sighed.
"He has a point, but again, if you're not ready. No pressure." He smiled softly.
"No, I want to do it before I change my mind." You said more determined than ever, he smiled at your words and nodded.
"Let's go then." He said.
You called the number on your phone, your heart beating with every ring of the phone. You were losing hope, but then someone picked up.
You heard a confused "Hello?" from the other side of the line. Your phone was set on speaker for Taehyung to hear, your hand tightly squeezing his.
"Mom?" You said, hesitantly.
"Y/n?" Your mother asked. "Is it really you?"
"It is."
"Y/n! I'm so sor-"
"Wait, I want to see you in person first. Send me your location." You said and hung up before she could say another word.
You let out a deep breath you've been holding in. Taehyung rubbed your shoulders, "You're doing a great job. Can you go on?"
"Yes." You said. That's all it took for him to start driving to the location your mother sent. It was not your childhood house, you guessed they moved out once you and Jimin left.
Your phone vibrated in your hand,
Your heart beat faster while reading that text but you tried to distract yourself by listening to the music Taehyung was playing on the radio.
Although the drive was around 20 minutes long, you couldn't tell if it felt twice as long or not long enough. The next thing you knew, you were both standing in front of a large apartment complex. Your parents were never the kind to live in an apartment, it was always at least a two-floor house, so you could tell they already changed to an extent.

"I'm ready." You said while holding Taehyung's hand, not sure if you were convincing him or yourself.
You rang the doorbell corresponding to the apartment your mom sent you. In less than a second, the door was open. They must be super nervous or super excited.
You went up to the 18th floor and rang the doorbell. Taehyung seemed somewhat nervous as well, he was meeting your parents after all.
The door sprung open and you were pulled into the apartment, Taehyung also getting pulled since he was gripping your hand tightly.
"Y/n! I'm so sorry for how we treated you and Jimin." Your father said. He looked at Taehyung for a moment, realizing it was not Jimin, he raised his eyebrow.
"Kim Taehyung, her boyfriend,...sir?" Taehyung said, not sure how to address him. It almost made you laugh despite the amount of stress you were under.
"Ah!" Your mom said, pulling him in through the door and shutting it behind him. "Please join us for lunch."
Taehyung looked at you, and you nodded back in return.
"Y/n, you've grown so much." Your mom said, her eyes getting teary. "I can't believe I've missed out on all of this."
"It's ok, dear." Your father said, handing her a tissue and then looking at Taehyung as he has been doing for the past ten minutes now.
"How did you both meet?" He asked.
"High school classmates," You replied, "We recently got back in touch at work."
"What a lovely coincidence, I hope you are happy with him." Your mother said after blowing her nose and wiping her face.
"I am." You smiled, a genuine one. Taehyung looked at you, his boxy smile appearing at your words.
"Y/n, your mother and I have been thinking, we wanted to go on a one-week family holiday to catch up on everything we've missed out on. If you are willing to of course. I understand it might be hard to gain trust and love back into our small family, but we really want to work hard and prove that we've changed." Your father said.
"We tried contacting Jimin, he said he'd only go if you were coming." Your mom added. "We don't blame him."
"I don't mind giving it a second chance, after all, you never know where it could lead to." You said with a faint smile while squeezing Taehyung's hand.
"Taehyung is allowed to join us of course." Your dad said although you could see it wasn't out of being polite but rather a test. It made you smile, you never experienced a proper boyfriend with an overprotective dad. For once, your life seemed normal and it made you happier than you could ever be.

"Gladly, sir!" Taehyung blurted.
You and your mother started laughing.
"Stop it, honey. The poor boy is about to piss his pants." Your mother said, earning furrowed eyebrows from your dad and a tomato-faced Taehyung.
"Can Jungkook join as well?" You asked.
"Ah, I'm so glad you're still friends with that boy, he's really sweet."
"He is." Taehyung said.
"I always thought you'd end up with him if I'm being perfectly honest." Your mom said, "Taehyung, you should've seen the way Y/n used to look at him, poor boy was dense."
"But you see the way she's looking at Taehyung right now. Nothing can top that." Your dad said.
Both you and Taehyung blushed furiously, your parents laughing at your reaction.
You had to admit, the night went better than expected. You caught up with your parents and told them about your career and social life. They told you about theirs, how they still work on their business, how they try to take more breaks nowadays and live a little. They showed you photos of their monthly trips around the world.
"It would've been a lot better with you and Jimin, of course." Your dad said.
"The next one." You smiled.
That night, you slept better than you ever had before. Jungkook has officially moved out and Taehyung took the other room, splitting the rent between the both of you.
Although, he still ended up in your bed more nights than not. Either because he "couldn't sleep", needed snuggles, or missed you- even though you lived with each other.
All excuses, but you wished he never stopped them.
You had formed a nice routine together, Saturdays were outing nights, Tuesday afternoons were stay-in-and-watch-a-movie-night or a silly rom-com.
Even career-wise, you were very close to having enough to start your studio. If you calculated it correctly, you'd have it in a year's time from now. Your life has changed drastically these past few months. Never would you have imagined such a turn.
You heard the door unlock as you were baking cookies in the kitchen for Taehyung. Yeontan barked excitedly by the door.
"Welcome back." You said but heard two people entering the house rather than one. You poked your head out of the kitchen to see who Taehyung brought back with him. It was usually Jungkook or Jimin, but those footsteps didn't sound like them. No way...
"Hobi!!" You ran to him and hugged him tightly.
"Y/n!" He said, "I missed you."
"I missed you more."
You were pretty much in contact with Hoseok for the last month, both of you have officially moved on from that terrible break-up and became close friends. You haven't seen him since he left for the airport that day.
"How's your mom?" You asked.
"Fully recovered!" He said, "We're looking for a new apartment here, she's moving in with me."
"That's great." You never felt happier than you did now, seeing his worry-free smile again, one that has long disappeared.
"I smell something yummy," Taehyung said, entering the kitchen. "Cookies!!"
You heard a knock on the door and went to open it. It was your brother, Hyejin, and Jungkook.
Jimin and Hyejin started dating a month ago, you felt very happy for them and proud of Jimin for finally committing to a girl.
"We bumped into each other in the elevator and decided to visit," Jimin said, looking at Jungkook.
"Are you making cookies?" Hyejin asked. You nodded proudly.
Everyone rushed to the kitchen, and the freshly baked batch of cookies disappeared into thin air in the next 3 minutes.
"Your baking has improved a lot, Noona." Jungkook said.
"Why, thank you."
"Still needs some work," Taehyung said.
"Shut up!" You said, chasing him around the kitchen with a cookie dough scooper. He ran to your bedroom and was about to close the door, but you pushed it open before he had the chance.
"Ah!" He yelled when he was cornered. "I'm sorry!"
"As you should be." You said, tickle attacking him. You both fell to the ground.
"Stop!" He managed to say between laughs. You laughed and stopped, but that only made him get his revenge by tickling you back.
"Tae, stop!" You laughed.
"Fine." He said with a victory smile.
You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and neck, placing a soft kiss on his lips. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
"C'mon guys, Our Beloved Summer is on!" Jungkook yelled.
"Coming!" You said, getting up from the ground and lending Taehyung a hand. He took it and you both went to enjoy your rom-com show.
(A/n: My heart hurt writing those last two words, I've been writing this FF for almost two years and a half now. It feels weird letting it go T.T but anyways, thank you all for your massive support and I really hope this story has managed to bring you happiness or feel anything at all! I purple you all <3 As usual, don't forget to vote, comment and share if you enjoyed it)
