《If I Fall // Fantastic Beasts》The End

Breakfast at the Goldsteins ended faster then what they hoped. Queenie had made eggs, bacon and toast for the four of them, she was excited everyone was getting along again. After breakfast they all planned to shopping before Newt and Mercy's departure, they were going back to England for a few months break.
The cold air hit Mercy like a slap in the face, finally feeling like she woke up she noticed a strange change between Tina and Newt. Mercy suddenly felt uncomfortable walking beside Newt, something she thought was impossible. Walking through various shops, nothing seemed to intrigue her. Queenie brought them to her favourite little shop, in the heart of New York City. It was a cute little shop, various pieces of jewelry and hair pieces hung along a wall. Across from it a self full of little nick nacks and picture frames. Mercy watched as Newt picked up brown wooden picture frame and added it to an empty cart as he separated from the group deeper into the store.
Mercy stood in front of the wall of jewelry, five lockets hung against the wall. Three almost identical gold pocket watches and two different long lockets. Mercy payed close attention to the two lockets on the end, one was black with yellow specks while the other was white with dark floral patterns along the think part of the locket. Mercy opened the both up, they both concealed a circle for a tiny picture. She smiled, her mother gave her a locket when she was younger. The picture contained her and her sister both smiling into the camera while the other side was a picture of her family.
Mercy pulled the black and yellow locket from the wall, she smiled staring down at the piece of jewelry. The colours reminding her of her house colours at Hogwarts and some things she left behind the day she left. She missed the smell of the giant library and all the books, the comfort of her bed and her secret hideout where she'd spend alone when she wanted to escape. She missed the castle and the greenhouse where Professor Sprout who gave Mercy one on one lessons about rare types of plants. She shook her thoughts away as she continued exploring the store, clutching the locket in the palm of her hands.

She caught up with the group at the check out desk, Newt was last in line purchasing the wooden picture frame. Mercy quickly payed for the locket after Newt as they rushed to the docks, the boat would be leaving in half an hour. By the time they reached the docks they only had ten minutes to say goodbye. Mercy quickly said goodbye to Tina as she moved over to Queenie.
'Thank you' Mercy smiled hugging her 'for everything'
'It was my pleasure' she beamed fixing Mercy's glasses
Mercy chuckled 'it was nice meeting you'
'Good luck on your travels' Queenie said
'Good luck with Jacob'
Mercy waved walking away from Queenie and to her luggage, she stopped as she waited for Newt who was still saying goodbye to Tina. Mercy watched closely as a lumped formed in her throat, Newt moved closer to Tina and gently moved a piece of hair from her face. It looked as if he was going to kiss her until Tina quickly said goodbye as she walked away with her sister. Mercy grabbed her luggage and her boat ticket as she rushed onto the boat, sitting at the back of the boat and setting her stuff beside her, she waited to see if Newt would join her.
A few minutes later Newt found Mercy and sat next to her, he smiled digging through his case before pulling out a wrapped item. Mercy took it with a confused look before slowly unwrapping the gift, she placed the wrapping paper in her pocket before examining the item. It was the picture frame Newt and bought from the shop but instead of the black and white photo it came with, Mercy saw her and Newt both smiling and laughing staring up at her.
'I remember when we took this' she chuckled 'this was a week after we started talking'
'I know, I found it on my desk after- well after you left' Newt said
'Look how happy we look'
Newt chuckled 'I miss that'
Mercy smiled staring down at her old self, happy, excited with not a care in the world. Here, she finally had everything she wanted. She had a friend and her whole family at her side, she finally thought she had the perfect life she was dreaming of. She looked up at Newt,

'I'm leaving'
'What?' He asked
'When the boat boards I'm going to my mother's house and I don't know what's going to happen'
'But, what about us? What about traveling the world together?' He mumbled
'Newt, there is no us! I saw how you were with Tina and it was Leta all over again! I'm not doing this anymore, you weren't this complicated when we first met. Everything was so easy and I knew what to do but now...'
'You can't leave, I-I need you here' he whispered as Mercy shook her head 'no you don't, I don't know what you need but it's not me'
Newt fell silent, no one said a word for half the trip. Not until a voice rang out from the speakers saying they were docking in five minutes did Newt say anything.
'I'm sorry' he said standing up getting ready to leave the boat,
'I'm sorry too' Mercy said following his actions as everyone began filing off the boat, Mercy rushed towards the exit when Newt stopped her again.
'Mercy, I can't just let you walk away' he whispered
'Why not? I've done it before' she mumbled 'besides, your better off on your own'
'No, that's not true... Mercy, why can't you understand' he spoke loudly
'Understand what? You tell me you love me again and then it seems you have feelings for another person! I forgive you but I don't forget, I can't forget that easily'
'Is this about Tina, at the dock?'
'I don't know but it's Leta all over again! I know I've been over dramatic lately but I can't help it' she sighed 'I'm so scared to lose you and at this point I just need to let you go myself'
'Why are you doing this? This isn't the Mercy I fell in love with!' He said grabbing her wrist
'That Mercy never existed, goodbye Newton' she trailed off grabbing her things before heading off towards the exit. She heard Newts footsteps following her,
'No matter what, we're still best friends' he said 'now, I understand I've made so many mistakes but I can't not accept us never being friends again' he stopped her
'Were still friends, yes. I just need a break' she frowned
'I'm still so sorry'
'Yes, I know' she chuckled
'So where can I find you?'
'You know where my mother lived, that's where I'll be now' she smiled 'it's up to you to come find me'
Mercy turned again but to be stopped even faster then before, Newt stood in front of her this time blocking any chance of an escape.
'No matter what you think, Mercy Langton. I want you to know that I do love you' he whispered before kissing her, she was taken aback at his sudden action but quickly backed away.
'You know where to find me' she repeated rushing off towards the exit.
As Mercy left the docks she finally realized how her life wasn't met to end with a happily ever after. She was never fit for a perfect fairy tale ending, she was supposed to settle for below average. Leaving Newt behind she also finally realized what he'd been saying all along. No matter how many times he said 'I Love you', no matter how many times she wanted to believe it, she finally understood. Newt loved her as a friend, only as a friend.
As she left a part of her life behind that night, Mercy thought her life had ended. Leaving the best thing that ever happened to her behind so easily made her sick, she didn't know what she was going to do.
But four years later, four years of waiting. Mercy Langton's happily ever after was just beginning.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

There was a girl whose feelings changed the world around her, and with every step little smoke clouds emanated from her feet. The Wild Touch
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day. Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy. The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban. And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting. Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints. The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters. The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.
