《Whatever It Takes | Rosekook ✓》28: pizza

Roseanne felt a shiver run down her back as she sat in front of Jungkook, Jaehyun, and Eunwoo who were holding a slice of cheesy pizza.

"Are you cold?" Jungkook asked.

Roseanne shook her head. "No, I'm fine."

"Look," Eunwoo said between bites of his pizza. "I don't mean to be rude but your place is kind of a dump."

"Eunwoo!" Jungkook hissed, his eyes narrowing.

"What? It is," he was staring at the blanket she had draped over her sofa. "Is this from like...a thrift shop or something?"

Jaehyun rolled his eyes. "You're so arrogant. You're not supposed to ask stuff like that."

"Why not? It's a legitimate question. I bet we can make a video at a thrift shop. Like each of us buys outfits from thrift shops for a week."

Jungkook shook his head and Roseanne frowned. She placed her pizza slice on the paper plate in front of her. "That's insensitive," she said. "Some of your viewers probably shop at thrift stores all the time. You'd be mocking them."

"So?"

"So don't do that. They watch you to feel good and escape their own lives for a few minutes. Don't make fun of them and remind them that they're too poor to shop at designer stores like you probably do."

"She has a point," Jungkook said.

"What if you did a fake prom video and everyone had a really low budget? You could ask your viewers where to get outfits and I'm sure some of them will suggest thrift stores. You could shop for a suit without seeming like you're making fun of people who shop there. You could also try making a suit out of something you have at home. Be like Scarlett O'Hara and make yourself an outfit out of curtains."

Eunwoo frowned. "Who is Scarlett O'Hara? Is she from the crafting community? I don't want her to say I'm copying her YouTube videos."

"Scarlett O'Hara is a character from a book called Gone with the Wind," Roseanne said.

"Never heard of her."

Jaehyun laughed. "Eunwoo only reads books with pictures in them."

"I do not!" Eunwoo protested. "I read stuff all the time."

"Kids books don't count," Jaehyun jokes.

"Are they always like this?" Roseanne whispered to a grinning Jungkook.

He nodded. "Usually. If you're going to be part of our group, you'll need to get used to it."

"Is she really joining our team? Are you sure that's a good idea?" Eunwoo asked. "No offense, Rosie, but your rep is still in the dumps."

"She's got over a million subscribers," Jungkook reminded them.

"Yes, but she's controversial," Eunwoo said.

"Maybe that's what we need," Jaehyun said before taking another bite of his pizza and wiping his fingers on the paper napkins Roseanne had placed on the coffee table earlier. "We have these reputations of being good guys and it alienates people. Everything that happened with Tzuyu and the picture of us kissing wouldn't have been so bad if our reps weren't so squeaky clean."

"Speaking of diabolical witches," Eunwoo leaned forward. "How are we going to help Rosie solve this murder?"

Jungkook smiled. "We'll do what we do best. We'll help her collab on videos with other YouTubers who knew Tzuyu. Maybe she could even interview people who had grudges against her."

"That'd be a lot of interviews," Eunwoo muttered.

"I think you're forgetting something," Roseanne said. "My channel is a horror channel."

"You could do the collabs while doing any kind of horror content," Eunwoo suggested. "Maybe just do ghost-hunting. So if you do another video with a gossip channel, you can both visit a haunted school or something."

"That works," Jungkook nodded.

"Won't she get into trouble with the cops?" Jaehyun asked. "I watch a lot of crime shows. Isn't this like case tampering or something?"

Eunwoo shook his head. "Nah, she's just making videos for entertainment purposes. If she happens to solve a murder along the way, even better," he turned to Roseanne. "Did your roommate say when he's getting back? It's already late. He won't be upset if we stopped over?"

Roseanne shook her head. "No, Mark won't care. He's hanging out with the girl he likes."

Jungkook frowned. "Tzuyu's cousin, right?"

"What?" Eunwoo glanced from Jungkook to Roseanne. "The roomie is dating Tzuyu's cousin? Is she a raging witch too?"

"No, she's really nice," Roseanne answered.

"Then why didn't she tell you she was Tzuyu's cousin?" Jungkook asked. "You've been making videos about Tzuyu and she never once mentioned their relationship. I bet she's hiding something."

"Like what?" Jaehyun asked.

"Like maybe she's a murderer," Eunwoo suggested. He looked at his watch. "Listen, it's getting late and I have a photoshoot in the morning. Jaehyun, let's go."

"You had pizza the night before a photoshoot?" Jaehyun chastised.

Jungkook and Jaehyun both stood up. Jungkook smiled at Roseanne. "Thanks for having us over and agreeing to join our team."

"Nothing's official yet," she reminded him.

He chuckled and headed for the door. Jaehyun and Eunwoo exited but Jungkook turned around. "You alright?"

"I'm fine."

"Do you want me to stay until your roommate gets here?"

She shook her head. "No, I'll be fine."

"You're not like most girls, are you?"

"If you mean I make horror content videos and don't let potential stalkers ruin my life, then no. No, I guess I'm not like most girls."

"Good. I'm glad. I wouldn't have noticed you if you were."

Before she could question what he meant by that, he raised two fingers in the air and closed the door behind him.

Roseanne stared at the door for a few moments before turning to throw the pizza boxes away. The boys had piled their paper plates in the empty boxes. She tossed them into a large garbage bin and exited her apartment. She wanted to throw the trash into the large dumpster on the opposite side of her apartment complex.

As she turned the corner to make her way back to her apartment, she noticed Yuju's car parked outside.

A strangled yell filled the air followed by Mark's screaming voice.

An electrifying chill ran down her spine as Roseanne ran towards her apartment in her flip flops. The door to her apartment was open. Her eyes widened and she shrieked at the scene before her. A small fire was licking at her bedroom door and in the middle of the living room was Mark standing above Yuju who was laying on the floor, a knife stabbed in her body.
