《Gone Boy》7

Katsuki was okay, not great but not horrible. He had left school to go meet Auntie Midoriya, and Aizawa had allowed him to stay for a few hours.
Knocking, he heard a couple shuffling feet and a click before an eyebag clad Inko opened the apartment door. She gave Katsuki a thin smile before motioning him in the house. She began fumbling for a hair tie to make a bun. She did it so half-heartedly that Bakugou could only watch as the strong motherly figure he and his best friend grew up with fell apart.
It was heartbreaking to say the least.
In relative silence, they cooked together and ate dinner. He had been eating at her apartment for a bit now so she wouldn't be alone with her thoughts. It was the least he could do.
But then her phone, which was faced down on the table, began vibrating. She flipped it over and glanced at Katsuki.
The doctors?
UA?
Was Izuku up??
Bakugo felt ashamed for thinking something so hopeful. But he nodded to the silent question Inko was asking.
Can I answer this?
She picked up the phone and pursed her lips. From across the kitchen table, Bakugou could hear a deep voice talking to Inko. Suddenly she slapped a hand over her mouth, tears falling down her face, and she left the table to pace the living room. Bakugo, ever the polite guest, got up and followed her into the kitchen to eavesdrop.
He heard everything. All the doctors notes and conspiracies. All the tests being run. All the vitals changing. How over the past seven months, Izuku has flat-lined over thirteen times. How his quirk gene was impacted and how it later mutated.
How her son was once again quirkless.
How her son was immune to everything quirk related.

How they still don't know why he wasn't awake.
But one thing kept ringing in Bakugo's head.
Quirkless.
Izuku is quirkless.
Again. For the second time.
All Izuku's efforts, all his attempts to rival Bakugo. All his attempts to save people. It's all gone.
Bakugo knew how detrimental this would be for Izuku when he found out. He knew that the years of bullying would come back in a snap. The UA experience that they had had for almost a year was like a rehabilitation for Izuku. He had made friends, found worth in himself. But Bakugo knew Izuku better than anyone.
He knew Izuku tied his worth into his quirk. He knew that Izuku only thought he was good enough with One for All. He was only able to change the taunt "Deku" into a hero name because he had a quirk. With One for All he was no longer useless Deku.
He was a hero.
But...it was like a dream. A really good dream that would now feel like the dreamer had a bucket of ice water dumped on them.
Bakugo was panicking.
How could he fix this? How could he help? He had already apologized and begun making it up to Izuku. Slowly but surely.
But he knew dang well that it would take a huge amount of time for Izuku to understand that everything is different now. Everyone liked him because of his personality, not his quirk.
But he was practically comatose now.
Unresponsive.
And quirkless.
And Bakugo couldn't handle the swarm of emotions inside him. He couldn't hear or see or think, so he screamed.
Bakugo Katsuki had entered a panic attack.
And that was because he knew everything was not going to be okay.

8 697Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have. 8 205The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.

Just a little bit about ballet. This story follows my life and my meager ballet career. It's a bit random and some info about ballet from my perspective. If you would like for me to write a part about something in particular, just comment and I will. Enjoy! Thanks to @girl_who_reads for designing my cover, it's so awesome!! ~Mia
