《Gone Boy》6

It had been about seven months since the whole ordeal. The doctors had finally been able to contact Inko with the news of her son's full condition.

No, she was never left in the dark. The doctors told her everything that was happening inside the room. They called her two times a day, sometimes more so that she always knew what was happening to her child.

They even told her all of their conspiracies and thoughts on the subject of her son's new predicaments. But until now they had no serious tests done to figure out why he had reacted so negatively to quirks. They didn't want to do these strenuous tests while he was in critical condition so they waited until his sluggish healing process naturally began sealing the wound.

Later on, one of the gunshot wounds had gotten infected so it further slowed the process.

But at the nine month mark, everything seemed to be normal and the doctors did a thorough check of Midoriya to see if anything else was wrong. He was perfect.

The only thing Doctor Shibuya wanted to know is why the teen was reacting to everything quirk-related and why he was still asleep. Nothing was keeping the boy from waking up...so why wasn't he?

It took a month of testing and searching for reasons until Shibuya figured out that the boy was quirkless. He never had a quirk--at least not his own. So when the bullet hit Midoriya it took away the strength enhancer and since that was easily taken away due to it not being his natural quirk, the drug began making its way to Midoriya's cells. It tampered with the quirkless gene.

What happens when an originally quirkless person gets shot with a quirk-erasing drug? The gene for his quirklessness gets damaged, causing the boy to not only remain ordinary but also become immune to the quirks.

After being able to get information on everything close to the subject, Doctor Shibuya was allowed to deduce that since the bullets were made from a mere child's blood, that the quirk gene and cells were able to mutate due to stress. Thus causing the boy to become immune to any and all quirks used on him.

A boy who had nothing, yet no one could touch him.

Fascinating.

Having this new information, he finally felt confident to talk to Inko about the discovery. His confidence quickly faded after hearing the mother's choked sobs. Not only the mother's but another person in the background seemed to be taking the news deeply as well.

Suddenly a scream was heard on the line. Filled with so much distress and anguish that the doctor was immediately worried.

"Katsuki? Katsuki!" The mother became distraught over the background and hung up the phone in a rush.

Shibuya was highly concerned and took one last look at the boy under the thin hospital sheets. A boy once a hero, so strong now looked weak and fragile.

It feels like everything was falling apart in this little world. He felt like he had ruined the Midoriya family and all that knew them.

It was a horrible feeling. Not to mention that he didn't even know them personally.

He sighed, rubbing the back of his head before walking out the door.

What he failed to notice was the slightly elevated heart and respiration rate of the patient. As Doctor Shibuya shut the door with a click, one bleary eye was opening.
