《Only Mine (Kagehina) (Kageyama x Hinata)》Chapter 20

It was another day after school where Hinata and Kageyama proceeded to practise volleyball out on the field, passing the ball and receiving it on a constant loop.
"Kageyama?"
"Mmmmm" he mumbled after landing another powerful strike right to Hinata who managed to receive it surprisingly.
"Why don't you join me for practise tomorrow?" Kageyama stiffened at the question. He has been trying to avoid going to the club room no matter what. He caught the ball in his hands as it flew towards him. He coughed not wanting to answer the question. He knew that if he wanted to keep playing volleyball professionally he would have to come back sooner or later but just.... Not yet. "Could you tell me why you don't want to come?" Hinata continued after realising that Kageyama wouldn't answer him. He walked over to the taller boy to close the space between them. Kageyama took in a deep breath knowing that he had to expose himself and give Hinata a reason. He deserved that after everything Hinata has done for him.
"It's stupid." Kageyama managed to spit out not wanted to say anything more even though he knew he should.
"I won't judge." Hinata spoke out trying to sound reassuring.
"You know how you told me how much I've improved and how I've learned to work with people and all that..." Hinata listened carefully to the words that were coming out of Kageyama, he wanted to take in all his words so he could find a way to help him."I'm scared." That's all that Kageyama said before looking down, unable to look into Hinata's eyes.
"Scared of what?" Hinata tried to make Kageyama express himself even more, intrigued by what was bothering him.
"I'm scared that if I come back I'll be like how I was before."
"What do you mean?"
"Just like... I'll lose everyone again because of how competitive I am. I don't want to lose another team" Kageyama felt like the words he has been keeping in for so long finally let go of him as if they were a rope holding him down. "I don't want to lose you."

Hinata didn't know how the setter managed to make him feel so special every time he talked to him. It's like his words had a magic spell on them and anything he said made Hinata's heart thump louder and faster each time. "You won't lose me, I promise." Hinata tried to make sure his words had the same effect, he wanted to make Kageyama feel the same way that he did, he wanted to share the amazing feeling with the one he loved. "Tell you what, come for practise just to watch. We won't force you to play and you can just start by getting comfortable with the people on the team. How does that sound?"
Kageyama took a moment to think about this proposition before replying. "Yeah okay, I'll do that." He turned towards Hinata realising there was a huge grin plastered on his face which automatically gave Kageyama reassurance that this was the right way to move forward.
"Okay well then I'll make sure to see you tomorrow at practice." Hinata continued making sure that the arrangement was definite.
"Yeah, I'll be there, don't worry." A chuckle came out of Kageyama.
Kageyama made his way towards the gym where most of the boys from the team were presumably at. He could hear the squeaking of shoes echoing inside the building and the sound of balls dropping with force, the thundering sound reaching his ear drums. The closer he made his way towards the entrance the louder the noise became, making him realise how much he actually missed playing volleyball with a group of 6 player on a court. The adrenaline that would rush through his veins as he perfectly calculated at what angle and velocity he should toss the ball, only then to come in impact with another players hand, scoring yet another point. It would all happen in mare seconds although in Kageyama's head he could see every step happening in slow motion.

Kageyama could hear people shouting, "Nice Kill, Tanaka!", "Good receive!", "One touch!" A mixture of voices muddled up together which only made Kageyama more nervous with every step he took closer and closer.
"Yes!" That was Hinata's voice. Kageyama could tell even from a crowd of people that that for sure was Hinata's voice. His voice managed to stand out from everyone's else's, Kageyama could already imagine the vibrant smile that would have been on Hinata's face as he exclaimed in happiness, probably from scoring another point.
Kageyama managed to reach the door of the gym and peered in, his hand resting on the frame of the entrance. His eyes glowed as he saw everyone running around getting into position, their form was perfect ready for the next attack. Their eyes glued to the ball that was flying around the court at immense speeds. It made Kageyama long for the feeling of victory after an intense game. Although his eyes were glued to one particular person. The orange haired boy was now dripping with sweat which made Kageyama gulp as he realised that was probably not what he was supposed to be concentrating on. But damn he looks good like his, Kageyama thought before trying to shake away his thoughts and keep paying attention to what was going on in this game.
Even if Kageyama tried, all he could do was watch as Hinata try to receive, which he made a mental note that they would have to improve, he was yet to see him spike which he was anticipating to see. Hinata on multiple occasions seemed to boast about him wanting to become an ace despite his height and what everyone else thinks. Hinata must be good as a middle blocker if his aspirations were so high, which made Kageyama even more frigidity as he waiting for an opportunity for Hinata to run up to spike.
Then there it was, Hinata ran up with all his speed and jumped like gravity didn't exist. Kageyama eyes widened at the sight in front of him, taking it all in as Hinata jumped, no, as Hinata flew. It was like wings spread out from his back and he glided through the air. Everything seemed to blur out of Kageyama's vision with only Hinata being visible, it was like everything was happening in slow motion and Kageyama felt his breath being taken away as Hinata shone in front of him. The tangerine was right, he really is amazing.
Kageyama suddenly felt a wave of heat empower him forcing him to close his eyes. He could hear his heart beat inside his brain which bran him a great deal of pain. What's happening. He thought to himself as he suddenly felt himself hit the ground and cries running up to him. No not now, please no. Kageyama sobbed to himself, fearing that he will once again have to relive the nightmare of his memory loss. Kageyama lay on the floor with the team around him trying to do anything to wake up the unconscious man.
Hinata felt like it was all happening all over again, of course once everything started going his way the world had to go against him and cause another misfortune.
It didn't take long for the ambulance to come, dragging Kageyama away from Hinata just like they did before. He wasn't even allowed to come with him as he wasn't a relative or family.
However no matter what happens, Hinata promised himself that he will stand by him, they will find a way to overcome this nightmare, somehow, and fight together out of this living curse.
