《Only Mine (Kagehina) (Kageyama x Hinata)》Chapter 19

"Do you want to come over?" The random question brought Hinata's attention towards Kageyama who was now looking down at his feet as they were walking home. Hinata hasn't been in Kageyama's house since the accident, trying to give Kageyama as much space as possible for him to be able to let himself figure out what he wants to do next in his life and how he was going to cope with his memory loss.
"Me?" Hinata said, pointing to himself, for some reason the thought of going to Kageyama's house was more bizarre than it should have been.
"Well I don't see anyone else walking with us, yes, of course you." Hinata was somewhat glad that Kageyama was still the same him in terms of personality, I guess memory loss won't stop them from always bickering with each other. Although there was a bittersweet feeling that came from it, they both knew they never actually meant to hurt each other meaning they never got upset over what the other said which helped in creating this perfectly balanced relationship.
Hinata smiled up at Kageyama who was staring back at him, intrigued in the answer that was about to come out of Hinata. If he was being honest he could feel his heart pounding, it must have subconsciously meant a lot to him.
"Yeah of course." There it was again, that huge grin on Hinata's face that always seems to light up the whole room. It was contagious, when Hinata smiled it made everyone in the room automatically cheer up. "When do you want to meet up?"
"Now?" Hinata was a bit taken back by such a quick response, something signalled that Kageyama must have been thinking about this for quite some time. Hinata didn't have anything to do today so he naturally agreed even if it made Kageyama's eye widen with surprise. He didn't expect Hinata to agree to such an sudden change of plans, not that he was complaining.

It didn't take long for the two boys to find themselves in Kageyama's house. It was awkward at first as they realised that they will be all alone, Kageyama's parents were out working and his sister was out with her friends. At least they would be able to focus on each other without any interruptions. They both sat in Kageyama's room, Hinata sitting in his bed fiddling with his fingers waiting for Kageyama to start talking whilst Kageyama sat on his chair observing Hinata acting all shy and awkward which he wasn't used to at all. He must admit it was really interesting seeing such a hyperactive kid sit there, without talking like a completely different person.
Kageyama let out a little snicker which immediately brought Hinata's attention to him. It was too late before Kageyama realised that he let out a laugh which made him force himself to hide his smile.
"What you looking at dumbass?" He reacted impulsively. To this Hinata started laughing, looking at how fluster Kageyama was becoming bran him a lot of satisfaction, probably purely because he was the only one who ever saw him like that.
"You called me a dumbass." Hinata kept on laughing to which Kageyama frowned because in what world was being called a dumbass this funny.
"Why you laughing so much?" He then said, eyeing Hinata for an explanation.
"It's just that you really haven't changed at all." Kageyama loved hearing those words. Knowing that he hasn't changed brought him comfort for some reason, making him feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Kageyama took a deep through before he started talking again. "So there is a reason why I asked you to come," Those kind of words make Hinata feel a mix of stress and excitement, now inside his head he was buzzing, eager to know what Kageyama has planned. "You have done a lot for me the past weeks and I didn't really know how to repay you but when I was out with my parents one day I saw this and thought you might really like it." Hinata was practically sitting on the edge of the bed now. He wanted to tell Kageyama that there was no need for him to do anything in return, that everything that Hinata was doing for him was out of his own love. Yet the words just couldn't come out.

Kageyama stood up and walked over to the corner of the room. He bent down and picked up a volleyball which was white and blue with gold details. To the two volleyball freaks it might have been one of the prettiest objects they have ever seen. Hinata's eyes widened at the gift in Kageyama's hand, he quickly jumped up and ran towards Kageyama wrapping his arms around his body without thinking. He could hear how Kageyama's heart started beating faster every second their bodies were touching. That's when it struck Hinata what he just did, he pushed away from Kageyama and gave him a puppy look before saying, "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking, I'm just really happy, thank you so much for doing this for me."
One hand on the ball Kageyama gave Hinata a gentle smile and took his empty hand and ruffled his tangerine coloured hair.
"It's fine, I actually like your hugs. Their nice." Kageyama turned away trying to hide the blush that has crept onto his face. "I- umm" Kageyama let out a laugh trying to mask how nervous he was being. "Basically, I've been thinking lately and I know it probably doesn't compare to your feelings but I really like you. As in more than friends like you, I know it's sudden but you've just been so amazing and you make my heart do these weird things. I don't know exactly what it means but I keep longing to be with you, and I want to make you happy and take care of you." Kageyama had his hand hind his neck, rubbing it. Hinata stood there struck, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. "I want to keep taking things slowly while I adjust to my new lifestyle but I just want you to know that I might be getting feelings for you."
Hinata thought he was in a dream, things were finally playing out the way he wanted, maybe things could finally get back to how they were before the tragedy of the accident. Without realising both the boys stood there in silence, Kageyama anticipating an answer to his confession whilst Hinata just started into his eyes like he was trying to read his soul. Kageyama let out a small cough which bran Hinata back into reality and realised how stupid he must have looked just staring into space.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I just couldn't believe what I was hearing." Hinata spoke out smiling taking the ball out if Kageyama's hands and placing it on his desk so that he could force his body to move and stop being so goddamn awkward. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah of course I'm serious dumbass, I wouldn't be saying these kind of things if I didn't mean them." Kageyama pouted with a little frown on his face making his look like a child who didn't get what it wanted for his Birthday.
Hinata laughed before continuing, "Thank you, that made me really happy." He kept fiddling with the hem of his shirt trying to occupy is hands.
"Good." Kageyama said with a smile on his face, clearly proud of himself with the outcome of this conversation. "Now come on, let's get some food."
"Okay!"

Cowboys and Wizards
Currently in queue: Episode 12 in progress. Set in the Aurora: Apocalypse universe.Updated every Wednesday. If it's not updating, I'm working on my other fictions. If nothing's updating, I ran out of whiskey. Be patient. Cowboys and Wizards is a hot mess of garbage that should not be taken seriously by anyone. It’s a vaguely-GameLit spoof of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomoni (In Another World With My Smartphone) where the MC ends up in another world and fused with his crappy smartphone, mashed up with fantasy western elements. Dungeons & Dragons meets the Wild West in an alternate high-fantasy timeline. Guns & Goblins. Cowboys & Wizards. Locomotives & Dwarves. Don’t expect great writing, accurate numbers, or common sense. Hell, don’t expect anything — just relax and let it happen.
