"Shit, I'm gonna be late!" You looked at your phone after leaving the bathroom.
Usually you would change in the bathroom instead of the club room since you had yet to come out to any of the club members. It wasn't ideal, and the other club members constantly encouraged to go to the club room instead. But, you still weren't sure how they'd react and decided changing in the bathroom was the easiest option.
"(Y/N), you're late again! Come on, lets go. Everyone else started running already." Suga waited for you to catch up. You could see the other club members running on the sidewalk up ahead.
"Sorry Suga-san!" You apologized to your senpai, trying to catch up to the group.
"You need to start changing in the club room! Couch Ukai is getting pretty mad that you're coming late, and I'm pretty sure Daichi is going to be talking to you about it today." Suga said.
"I'll see what he says." You replied, quietly running beside him the rest of the run.
Practice went as usual. Hinata and Kageyama doing some insane move and everyone else doing stuff that wasn't nearly as appreciated. But true to Suga's words, Daichi pulled you aside after practice to talk.
"(L/N)-kun, we need to talk." Daichi had his arms crossed.
"Are you breaking up with me?" You joked.
"Please be serious." Daichi sighed.
"What do you want to talk about?" You asked, stepping outside of the gym with the team captain.
"You've been late to practice everyday this week." Daichi crossed his arms.
"Yup, I have." You nervously rocked on your feet.
"You need to start changing in the club room. And thats a rule for you from now on. I can't continue to let you keep getting late. It wastes the the time we have in the club waiting for you." Daichi said.

"C'mon, can't you just make me clean up the gym after practice for a week or make me sit out of games. Making me change in the club room isn't much of a punishment." You rolled your eyes.
You tried to hide the nervousness in your voice and body language. You weren't ready to come out just yet and that would be your only option if you did start changing there.
"You're an amazing player, (L/N), and we need you in our games. But there needs to be some reprocussion for you being late and this is what I've decided. So, get your stuff and go to the club room." Daichi said giving one of his heartwarming smiles.
"Uh- I'm fine today. I can just change at home." You tried to get away.
Daichi grabbed the collar of your shirt, somewhat choking you as he pulled you with him.
"You're going to the club room whether you like it or not." Daichi gave a spine tickling glare. You shivered, nodded and grabbed your bag from the room.
You nervously walked up the stairs to the club room, and Daichi somewhat shoved you into the room as he opened the door.
"(Y/N), you're finally here today!" Hinata greeted you as walked in.
"Yup, Daichi finally got mad at me for being late." You said.
You talked to most of the guys while you were there until Tsukishima pointed out, "Aren't you supposed to be changing? You're clothes are disgusting."
"I can just change when I get home. Daichi just insisted I come in here." You shrugged.
You didn't even notice someone having pulled up your shirt from behind until you felt the cold air on your stomach and saw the shocked faces of the club members looking. You felt your heart speed up, and you pulled your shirt back down. Hinata was standing behind you still with a big smile, he hadn't realized what happened.

"D-don't do that!" You exclaimed.
"Uh- (L/N)-" Suga began.
"I need to go, I-I'll see you tomorrow!" You quickly said and ran out leaving many club members left confused.
Once you were sure you were far enough from the school, you began slowing down. You felt your eyes water at the thought of what just happened.
"They're going to think I'm weird. Why can't I just be a normal guy." You thought, wiping your eyes with your hands.
"(Y/N)!?!?!" Hinata screamed at the top of his lungs. He almost rode past you with how fast he was going on his bike.
"Hi-Hinata! Why did you follow me!" You exclaimed, as he stopped infront of you.
"What happened back there and why did you run away so quickly when everyone saw you were wearing a tank top? Its not that bad." Hinata asked.
"Hinata, that wasn't a tank top." You deadpanned.
"What was it then?" He asked.
"Why couldn't Suga have come after me or any of the third years. Why did it have to be him?" You thought.
"It was a sports bra. I-I'm transgender, but please don't start thinking of me differently because you know that, alright? I'm still a guy, and I'm still going to be apart of the boy's volleyball team!" You explained.
Hinata looked like he had understood until he tilted his head to the side and asked, "What does 'transgender' mean?"
You deadpanned once again, "I was born a girl, okay. But don't call me a girl. I might not be it physically, but I'm a guy as much as you are."
"Oh!- oh..." He trailed off.
"I'm going, I'll see you tomorrow if I'm still in the club." You walked off. This time, he didn't follow you.

The next afternoon, you were in the club room extra early. You wanted to change before all the guys showed up, and had to once again endure how awkward it was yesterday. As you were putting on your shoes, Suga showed up.
"Oh- hey (L/N). You're in here early." He greeted.
"Yup, I need a reason to start telling Daichi he's late!" You joked, trying to act as if nothing happened yesterday.
Suga chuckled before going serious again, "(Y/N), can we talk about what happened yesterday?"
"I'm gonna' go set up, we can talk later!" You tried to leave the room, but you were blocked by Daichi and Asahi who were both taller than you.
"Did you guys plan this or something. Why do you want to talk so bad?" You asked.
"Hinata-kun talked to us yestersay after you left. He said you were transgender." Daichi replied.
"W-well, yeah. Look, if you're gonna' kick me off the club just make it quick." You looked away.
"No, no, we aren't going to do anything like that! R-right Daichi?" Asahi shook his head rapidly.
"Of course we're not going to kick you off the team. We accept you the way you are! You shouldn't be afraid to come out to your team!" Daichi reassured you, patting your back.
"Yeah, but what about the other first years and the second years? Not everyone on this team is going to be so readily accepting." You sighed.
"They'll come to be. You're just like everyone on this team, aren't you?" Suga asked.
You began tearing up, so you hugged the silver haired setter, "Th-thanks guys, y-you made me cry!"
Daichi chuckled and Asahi comfortingly rubbed your back. You were happy to have such accepting team members.

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.
