《Every Night || Cody Bellinger》Three

Madeline's POV- October 2017
As tired as I was, I knew that if I did not read right now I was going to fall behind. Thankfully, Cody was in the living room/kitchen area with Chris and his girlfriend Andrea. She was baking, so he was there waiting for the cookies to be cool enough to eat. He was probably going to eat his cookies with ice cream. My boyfriend had no self-control when it came to ice cream.
"Hey"
I glanced up and smiled at Cody who stepped into the room. He proceeded to close the door before making his way over. In one hand, he had an ice cream sandwich and in the other, he had a cookie.
"Are you almost done?"
"Yes" I replied.
He nodded and climbed up on the bed.
"I brought you a cookie"
"Thank you, I'll eat it when I'm done reading" I said before turning my attention back to the book I was reading.
Once I was done, I closed the book and smiled at Cody.
"Enjoying your ice cream sandwich?" I questioned.
He was nearly done with it.
"Yes"
I placed the book on the nightstand and took the cookie. As I took a bite of the cookie, Cody hummed.
"What class were you reading for?"
"History of nursing practice" I answered.
He smiled, and I couldn't help but notice how exhausted he looked. We really didn't get much sleep last night 😏. As he lied down, he asked;
"What did you read about?"
"Germ theory" I responded as I ran my hand through his hair.
"And what is that?"
"Basically that bacteria causes infection" I stated.
He closed his eyes and leaned closer to me.
"What else?"
"The beginning of disease prevention, specifically TB, pneumonia, and the flu," I said as he placed his hand on my thigh.

"What era did this happen in?"
"The early 1900's" I informed him.
"When you're done reading the book, let me borrow it"
"Of course" I replied.
"It's an interesting topic, something I want to learn more about. You know baseball, I should know more about nursing"
I smiled down at him as his hand gently touched my cheek.
"Are you tired?"
"I'm exhausted" I admitted.
He sat up and I smiled as he nipped my jaw.
"Same, but I missed you"
I accepted the kiss he was leaning in for.
"I missed you too," I said.
He smiled.
"Let me show you how much I missed you"
One of his hands went under my shirt, and his thumb lightly grazed my hip.
"You've got a game tomorrow, and you showed me last night" I reminded him.
"I'll be fine"
He nudged my jaw with his nose before he began to pepper my face with kisses.
"Cody, you need sleep" I told him.
He shook his head and connected our lips.
"Cody" I warned.
Instead of replying, he hummed and nibbled on my shoulder.
"I'll stop"
I raised an eyebrow as he continued.
"If you stay until Monday"
I smiled.
"Cody, I tutor on and have my clinical hours" I stated.
"I know, and it's selfish of me to ask but I want you there"
"Lucky for you, Mady and Andrea convinced me to stay" I informed him.
"They did?"
I nodded.
"Yes, my flight to Toronto leaves Phoenix at 12:30 AM" I said.
He smiled.
"You're the best"
"I try" I teased.
"No, you really are the best"
He began kissing my neck, and lightly pushed him away.
"If I'm remembering correctly, you were trying to bribe me to stay" I noted.
"That was before I found out that you were already staying"

I smiled as he connected our mouths once again.
"Let me love you"
Instead of replying, I flipped us over and grinned down at him.
"You showed me how much you loved me last night, let me show you how much I love you" I suggested.
He slowly nodded and groaned as my hands slowly traveled his chest.
"A massage would be great"
He had a full body massage on Wednesday.
"Your head hurts?" I questioned.
"Yeah, I'm just over thinking"
Sex wasn't always the answer, there were different ways to satisfy your significant other and no I was not talking about blowjobs. Cody was stressed out, and the postseason was just beginning. There was no doubt that the Dodgers were going to make the World Series, but the big question was if they were going to win. I gently rubbed his temples and massages hands/arm. By the time I finished, he was dead asleep. His eyes were partially closed, and by the looks of it, he was already in REM sleep probably dreaming away. He didn't even flinch or stir when I climbed off him, and off the bed. Once the lights were off, I made my way out of the room and down the hallway towards the living room/kitchen. I smiled at Andrea who was on her laptop.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked getting her attention.
"Not at all"
I grabbed my backpack from the corner I left it in the living room and made my way over to her. Once I was seated across from her, I pulled out my laptop.
"I'm going to make some coffee, do you want some?"
"Yes please" I answered.
As I loaded my work, she did that.
"The amount of coffee I drink now a days is crazy"
"I feel you there, William made me a pot of expresso the other day and I finished it all during a study sit down" I told her.
She smiled and pulled her hair up in a bun.
"It will all be worth it"
"God I hope so" I stated.
I yawned and shook my head.
"I swear, I yawn more than I speak" I mentioned.
"What do you have to do?"
"Finish up a reading and submit two quizzes" I answered.
I looked at her.
"What about you?" I asked as I slipped on my glasses.
I could read without them but I was going to be using my laptop.
"I've got a midterm exam"
"Take home or in class?" I questioned.
"Both"
"Fun" I noted.
She laughed and made her way back.
"I love Chris but he is a big distraction"
"Cody is the same way. It's why I escaped the room while he slept. If I fall behind it's bad" I told her.
"Oh I bet, I told Cody to be thankful that you're able to come visit him and technically not miss class"
I smiled.
"So you're the reason why he keeps thanking me for coming" I said.
"Yup"
She shrugged.
"He had to know how time consuming and stressful it is for you to travel. Yes you have your days off but during those days you're busy with readings and doing homework and assignments"
It's true.
"You understand me" I told her.
"We're kinda in the same position except Chris and I are not doing long distance"
"It will all be worth it" I said.
She smirked.
"God I hate it when people not in my position tell me that"
Same.
"It's going to be a long night"
And it was. Cody wanted me to be by his side and I would be as long as it didn't interfere with school. It sucked being tired all the time though.

Summoned
“Per aspera ad astra." Death. Mercilessly, it comes for all. But when a young man is given a second chance – a second life – to experience what he never has, what will he do? Leave the burdens of his past behind, improving upon his faults? Or will he collapse back into old sins, wasting the opportunity given to him? Perhaps even he himself does not know. * Join Andre on his journey as he explores a new world – one ripped straight from the pages of a D&D campaign he's never played. He will face monsters. He will face men. And above all, he will face himself. The story’s genre is your standard progression fantasy, isekai: magic, a system, and a level of technology suspiciously underdeveloped. I’ve borrowed tropes from various books I’ve read like “The Second Coming of Gluttony”. The similarities are there (particularly in the beginning), but I assure you the story is my own. It’s in the first-person perspective and has its own quirks, characters, and world for you to become immersed in. The upload schedule for this will be different from the usual fictions on this site: I’ll release chapters in batches rather than so many a week. I’m a college student, so I don’t want another deadline to worry about. Depending on the popularity/demand of the series, I might increase or decrease the rate of releases. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the story! P.S. This is my first fiction so make sure to point out mistakes wherever you see them. I’m doing this, partly, to increase my skill as a writer. However, be kind! I’m fragile, you know? Warning: ***This is far from your happy-go-lucky, feel-good adventure story. There will be content that some of you might not be comfortable with. And if you're already feeling skeptical reading this, click away and don't come back. If you're still here, what are you waiting for?***

That's why I didn't edited the first few chapters because they remind me of tge promise that i made. Some of them told me too post it here. So here it is.

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
