Park Chaeyoung's hand tightens against his as they stand in the elevator, feeling the nerves in her stomach as she takes a deep inhale. In the small space there is him, both managers, and a few security guards knowing that within the next five minutes, the entire course of her entire, her family and her career would change. She looks up at him, seeing the way he gives her a small but certain smile, assuring her that it'll be okay. For the last week, the pair had fought non-stop about the decision, so much so that they needed to have her parents pick up Dongsun to get away from the fighting.

And there she was, looking at him with scared eyes and knowing that he feels the same too.

"It'll be okay," he mouths to her, knowing that she was not one for public displays of affection, especially not in front of staff, "... I love you."

And in that moment alone, all of the bitterness and hatred between the two dissipated into thin air, evaporating like boiled water.

Park Chaeyoung surprises him, leaning her head against his shoulder, "... are you sure this is the right thing to do?"

He nods, "... it's the right thing to do."

"You won't regret it?" She pulls away, looking him in the eye, her wildest fear being that this decision was irreversible.

"I won't," he tells her certainly.

Suddenly, the elevator doors open and she can see the cameras from outside of the building already, feeling her heart thumping faster than ever before.

"It's time," his manager comments, "... are you two ready?"

Park Chaeyoung doesn't speak, instead turns to him as nods. Just as she was about to walk she feels a tug against her shoulder. Expecting to see him, she instead sees her manager—the one who's been handling the mess of her life for years, even before Dongsun was born.

"I'm sorry for always causing you trouble," she tells him instinctively, "... I'll be on my best behaviour after this."

She knows that he's warned her, time and time again to be careful. Yet somehow—they ended up in so much trouble.

"All that matters," he looks at her, "... is that you're happy. I'll support you as long as you are—and as long as I'm getting paid."

She chuckles, "... thank you."

Turning her head around and facing Jeon Jungkook, she gives him a nod. He reaches his hand out to hers, interlocking it with his.

"I'll protect you, I promised you and Dongsun, didn't I?"

She nods, taking a deep breath as they walk out to face the music.

After six months into his contract with Jeon Jungkook, the pair had decided to end it and let the world know about their relationship. He was too tired, and she knew that living a life in the darkness wasn't sustainable in the long run.

As they are met with screaming reporters and papparazis, her eyes squint in shock. Jeon Jungkook holds her hand tighter, standing boldly as he asks everyone to take a step back to give them some space.

It's complete chaos.

"Good morning, this is Jeon Jungkook from BTS," he begins, "... and this is my fiancé, Park Chaeyoung. You may know her from her idol group, BLACKPINK."

Various gasps and yelling begins to fill the space and Park Chaeyoung begins to feel overwhelmed, looking to him for assurance.

"In the past few days, rumours have been speculating about our relationship and while our trust and privacy has been violated," he begins, speaking sternly and boldly, "... we hesitantly confirm that indeed, the rumours are true. We have a child, who we ask for his privacy to be kept secret pursuant to South Korean laws, and because we wish for him to enjoy a normal life until and if he chooses to live a public life when he's old enough to do so."

She feels his thumb rubbing against hers, and she's thankful—that her fiancé can be so calm and collected, in the midst of it all.

"After much discussion with my agency, as well as the group, I would like to announce that I will be taking a break from solo activities to focus on fatherhood, as my fiancé beside me will be starting her world tour with her group. Please look forward to the performances and shows, which she, alongside the other girls, have worked hard on," he promotes, a small smirk curling against the side of his lip, knowing that she'll nag at him afterwards, "... for my fans who may feel disappointed, I am sorry but please do not, send any hate towards my future wife or family. This has been a decision made by me, and my agency. It has always been a dream of mine to be a father, so I wish to do it wholeheartedly. Any hate will be legally prosecuted. For her fans, please show her love because she's been working hard, for a very long time. We will be answering a few questions, but we ask for them to be respectful."

Before she could even look at him, one of the reporters suddenly asks.

"Chaeyoung, do you have any comment?"

She blinks and turns to him, which he mouths 'it's okay' before she clears her throat.

"I'd also like to say sorry to any fans that I've disappointed, whether it be ARMY or BLINKS. I will look after him as well as our son, and promise to be a good wife and mother," she tells him bowing her head.

"She already is," he cheekily adds before turning to another reporter.

"Will the public be invited to the wedding? When is the date?"

Jeon Jungkook chuckles, shaking his head, "... unfortunately no, but we are planning on releasing photos after the wedding so please look forward to that."

"How old is your child?"

Jeon Jungkook turns to her, "... do you want to answer it?"

She nods, taking a deep breath, "... he's currently six years old. He's moving onto the first grade soon."

"What do the other members think about all of this?"

"The girls have always been supportive," she quickly responds before turning to him, "... babe—I mean Jungkook do you want to answer about the boys?"

He chuckles, a smile on his face, "... they're very surprised, but believe this is the right decision. They've been spoiling him like crazy, and lowkey are competing for the 'best uncle' award."

Park Chaeyoung sighs, realising that her messages weren't sending.

It was the first show for her world tour, and her husband wasn't answering his phone. From their last texts, he'd told her that he was bathing Dongsun, and that they'd just had dinner and would stream the show from the apartment, yet an hour had passed and there was no reply.

Would he be okay?

She'd requested to video call, knowing that her son liked to do a little "good luck chant" before any time she was going to perform.

It would be the first time where she'd be away from Dongsun and her mother's instinct was in fight mode.

"I'm sure they're just occupied they'll reply soon," Jisoo Kim assures her, "... don't stress."

"I know," she pouts slightly, "... but I miss them already. Dongsun hasn't done his goodluck chant for me."

The other girls rub her back and give her a group hug, before they're being called to the side of the stage to get ready for the performance.

"Just know they're watching all the way from home, Chaeyoung," Lalisa Manoban assures her, "... so do your best, you deserve it. You worked hard."

Mommmmmy!

Park Chaeyoung turns around, and thinks she might be hallucinating when she sees her son running to her holding a light stick. He was wearing their merch, and matching was Jeon Jungkook behind him.

Her mouth drops in surprise, there they were—in America.

Tears begin to fall down her face.

"Mommy, don't cry, daddy said I can't make you cry or else the makeup artist will have a hard time," he tells her as she picks him up and kisses his forehead and cheeks, "... I want to do a goodluck chant for you, but daddy said I should come here in person."

After a few minutes, she turns to him.

"But how? When did you get on the plane? Dongsun doesn't even have a passport?"

Jeon Jungkook chuckles, leaning in and kissing her on the lips, "... it's a secret, but mainly with the help of the other girls."

She turns to the other girls who are giggling.

"Are you surprised?" He asks, chuckling because he already knew as she nods her head, "... I told you that it's always been you, there's no way I'll let you spend your first shows alone."

"How long will you be here?" She asks him.

"We'll go back next week for Dongsun to go back to school, but we'll be cheering you on from backstage."

And she thinks, her life is complete.
