《My Savior - (A Donnie x reader Fanfic)》Chapter 20 - Mistake

You didn't bother running back home to get your Bo, opting instead to run directly to the lair. 'Donnie never turns his tracker off' you thought as you ran. you jumped the turnstile and into Donnie's lab. You looked at the screen of the tracker, four colour-coordinated dots moved across the map.
You kept your eyes on them until they stopped, keeping a close eye on their location. Once they did stop, you wrote the street name on the back of your hand. The only thing that kept you from worrying was spite.
You were going to show them that you could help, preparation or not. You ran into the dojo and grabbed a spare Bo staff. Master Splinter tried to ask you what you were doing, but the ringing in your ears was too loud.
Although you were extremely short of breath, you didn't stop running until you were sure you were on the right street. The ringing in your ears died down, only to be replaced with the sounds of an intense battle.
Keeping your distance, for now, you surveyed the fight. Other than the turtles, there were two mutants. There was a large black dog-like mutant and a fish with robotic legs. 'These two should be easy to take down' you thought to yourself.
You inched closer to the battle, ducking between buildings and behind dumpsters, making sure neither side of the battle spotted you. The closer you got, the more intense the battle seemed to be. You tried to hear what either side was telling each other, but you could barely pick anything up.
You were right behind the fish mutant, readying yourself for an attack. He was currently facing off against Raph and Mikey, swirling a butterfly knife around. He was busy taunting them, so you decided this was a good time to drop in and land a hit.
You ran as fast as you can into the middle of the scene, running past the fish mutant and reverse clotheslining him in the process. You spun on your heel next to Mikey and readied yourself for the rest of the fight.
"Nice hit (Y/N)!" Mikey complimented. Raph turned to look at you. "(Y/N)?!" he yelled "you can't be here! this is way too dangerous for you!" you glared, tightening your grip on your body. "I'm not leaving!" you protested.
Raph rolled his eyes as he charged at the fish mutant. You looked to Mikey when he suddenly spoke. "That one is fishface, and the giant Zombie dog is Rahzar!" he clarified. You nodded in understanding, then tried to follow Raphs lead, charging at Fishface.
You used the blunt end of your staff to jab him in his stomach, knocking the wind out of him. You chuckled as he reared back, placing his hand on his chest. You smirked, but only for a moment before Fishface came running at you.

You jumped out of his way at just the right moment, then gripped your bo tighter. Fishface was out cold, having charged into a brick wall. You chuckled, then turned your attention to Rahzar.
As you prepared yourself, you found yourself making Eye contact with your boyfriend. His expression flicked between anger and concern. "Donnie!" you shouted, pointing. "DUCK!" he ducked just in time as Rahzar's fist swung at him from behind.
You ran towards the action, only to be held back by Leo. "hey! Lemme go!" you protested trying to get past him. "This is way too dangerous! You need to go home!" he ordered. You were just about to comply when Rahzar grabbed you and lifted you like a doll/
You screamed at the top of your lungs, kicking and flailing. "Put me down you stupid mutt!" you flailed harder, succeeding only in tiring yourself out. You panted, still trying to free yourself from Rahzar's death grip.
"Put her down Rahzar!" Donnie shouted, rage filling his voice. Rahzar only smiled. "Aww, she means a lot to you turtles doesn't she?" he teased. "Then Master Shredder will love to see her dead!"
There was a searing pain in your shoulder. You screamed at the top of your lungs. One of Rahzar's claws as gone straight through your shoulder. Blood was spilling from the wound and onto both you and Rahzar.
The last thing you saw was the ground as you fell towards it.
Bright white light filled your vision. 'Am I dead?' you blinked a few times, your blurry vision clearing up. Instead of a loud ringing, a faint, rhythmic beep sounded in your ears. You groaned as pain returned to your shoulder.
You groaned in pain, the faint, rhythmic beeping fading in and out as you drifted between conscious and unconscious. Finally, your eyes managed to stay open for more than three seconds. Your mom and brother were sitting to the left of you, both looking worried.
You tried to sit up. "Where am I?" you asked no one in particular. "You're awake!" your mom shouted, wrapping her arms around you. You yelped in pain as soon as she made contact. He jumped back and apologized.
You looked around, you were at the hospital. Casey looked to you, "what the hell happened?" you opened your mouth to answer, but your mom cut you off. "I told you, Casey, someone attacked her on the street!" you looked to your mom in confusion before it clicked in your mind.
'Donnie must have told her what happened' you thought as you adjusted your position. "You're lucky Donnie got you to me fast enough." "I'm sorry, mom" you apologized quietly, your mom nodded. "We'll talk about it later, for now just focus on getting better"

Your mom smiled at you and you returned it weakly. "Did they take anything?" you asked, looking to your mom. "No, they didn't. Do you want your phone?" you nodded, your mom handing you the device. There was a huge crack in it now, probably from your impromptu meeting with the concrete.
You went instinctively to Donnie's contact in your phone, texting him very simple that you had woken up, and that you were going to be fine. You put your phone down as a doctor came into the room. "How are you feeling?" she asked you. "It hurts, but I think I'm okay" the doctor nodded.
"Ms. (L/N), I've prescribed painkillers, she should take one every morning for a week, or until the pain stops," she instructed, passing your mom a slip of paper. "You're all free to go home now," she instructed, smiling.
A nurse brought over a wheelchair, which you got into carefully. Your mom grabbed your phone and pushes you down to the parking lot. She left you and Casey at the entrance to the hospital while she got the car. The drive home was quiet, with you still drowsy from pain medication. You trudged into the house with your brother's assistance, then crashed on the couch.
You woke up in the dead of night, now in your room. For a minute, you assumed either your mom or Casey carried you up but then realized that neither of them were strong enough to do so. You rubbed your eyes before you noticed a silhouette in the corner of the room.
You screamed at the top of your lungs. "MOM!!" the silhouette in the corner straightened out. They were tall and muscular and scared the shit out of you. The figure seemed to talk, but your mom yelled over them, barreling into your room and turning the lights on.
"What happened!?" your mom questioned in a frenzy. You panted as you stared at the now visible figure on the other side of the room. "Donnie?!" you cried, feeling your heartbeat in your throat. "Donnie'' What are you doing here?! Casey could-"
Almost as if saying his name summoned him, Casey came running into the room, Hockey stick in hand. "What's going on?!" he turned and seemed to lock eyes with your boyfriend. "Great" you groaned, waiting for Casey to freak out. "Awesome!!" he yelled, putting the hockey stick down.
Your mom quietly gestured for Casey to follow her out of your room, and when de didn't comply, she dragged him, closing your bedroom door behind her.
You heard them talking outside your door, but opted to question Donnie instead. "Why the hell are you here!? You scared me half to death!" you scolded. Donnie looked down at you before sitting on the foot of your bed.
"Your mom texted me that she left the window unlocked. I Had to see you after that fight" you sat up in bed. "Look, Donnie, I appreciate the gesture but did you have t stay and freak me the hell out? Now my brother knows you exist"
A loud, 'AHEM' came from the direction of the door, your mom and brother were in the doorway. You sighed. "I guess I should introduce you. Donnie, this is my brother Casey. And Casey, this is Donnie. He's my boyfriend"
Casey walked slowly towards Donnie, then bent over to look him in the eye. "If you ever hurt my baby sister" he started, pointing at Donnie "ill kick your ass right out of your shell" Donnie stood up, then bent down to meet Casey's gaze.
"I'd like to see you try, punk" the two glared at each other. "I should kick your ass already for getting her hurt!" he snapped. You interrupted before the argument could get worse. "It's my fault I got hurt. I ran into the fight and it was stupid."
Donnie looked at you sympathetically before sitting back on the bed. "Listen, we've been training our whole lives, you've barely been training for a month. I promise, one day you'll be ready, but for now, please just stick to patrol, okay?"
You nodded, Donnie pulling you into a hug. "Thank you, Buttercup" he kissed the top of your head. You smiled. "You gotta visit while I'm recovering" you ordered, "but don't sneak into my room in the middle of the night again, okay/?"
Donnie laughed. "I won't," he leaned in for a kiss, but Casey's hockey stick blocked him. "Now on my watch" Casey growled. "Well, Donnie, it was nice meeting you, but you should get going, okay? Bye!"
Donnie rolled his eyes and stood up. "I'll see you tomorrow Buttercup." he smiled and leaned in, stealing a quick kiss before climbing out your window. "Gross," Casey complained. Your mom shook her head. "Alright, come on Casey, back to bed with you. goodnight (Y/N)" your mom said as she guided Casey out of your room.
"Goodnight mom"
