You have been in the lair recovering for almost a week now. You didn't want to go home after what happened, Master Splinter agreed that staying with them would be best. There was no problems, they had a spare room for you to stay in, you had a bathroom and if there was ever need for food April and Casey would go with you. You didn't even remember your birthday was coming up from all that's happened.

When the turtles would go out on patrol you were often left Very lonely and Very bored, you would play with Spike and ice-cream kitty for a bit, Kilala would join in to, There was also beating Raph's punching bag that helped with the stress, you would go into the lab and talk to Timothy for a bit and even took up meditation with Master Splinter.

It was one of those moments were you were with Splinter, you were under the beautiful tree trying to clear your mind and sink into that peaceful place.

The sent of tea and incense filled you as you breathed in and out.

'Master Splinter is very kind letting you meditate with him' you think peaceful thoughts.

after what felt like hours of silence Master Splinter spoke.

"(Y/n), I have some questions about your battle with the foot clan".

you peek one of your eyes open to see him with his eyes still closed.

"I will answer as best as I can" you say closing your eyes again.

He chuckles a bit then asks you.

"All your wound's are grazes some bigger then others but they all seemed to have missed?, could you tell me how that came to be"

you take in a beep breath and try to remember the fight.

"I knew she was stronger then I was, I don't have any fighting experience but I'm fast on my feet." you let out a long exhale, trying not to shake.

"I see, would you come with me for a moment"

He got up and you followed tilting your head.

'were going to the dojo?'

"I want you to Dodge me as best you can."

He was standing on the other side of the dojo with his back facing you.

"w-what b-but Master, I-I."

you think about how you felt not being able to do anything when you were attacked and then you thought about it more.

'is he testing my abilities'

Taking a deep breath you clear your mind.

"Alright, I'll do as you ask"

"If you manage to touch me you win, if I take you to the floor you lose", still with his back turned to you, you bow at him, he turns around and bow's back.

Not shifting your gaze at him you stand with your feet apart getting a little low.

"Hajime!" he shouted at he began to come at you.

You managed to evade his first strike but only barely, he comes at you again but you roll away getting back up again only to dodge more of his attacks, you duck, roll, and wave away each hit only barely hitting you, you could feel the wind hit your face. you roll away again only to find your self about to get taken down.

'No! I wont let you'

You shout your thoughts and use that energy to grab onto his tail.

"Ya-me, well done." he smirks.

you hear from above you as you fall to the ground in exhaustion. you put your hand over your face trying to control your breathing again.

Master splinter strokes his beard, as if thinking about what to do next.

"(Y/n), your form could use work and many other things, you showed me something with your eyes, Yes you maybe weak now but with proper training you can be capable of doing many things."

He paused and took out some weapons from a closet near by, he knelt down putting each weapon on the floor in a neat line.

"what . . are those . . for", you said still out of breath.

"I want you to try using these weapons, I want to see what fits you best"

you get up and sit in front of were the weapons were placed out. there were many but what you went for was a short sword kind of like what Karai had but a little smaller.

"Ahh, that is called a Tanto. This one in particular is 11 inches long" he explained picking it up

"It was mostly used by Samurai's but some women also carried these"

It wasn't as long as Leos Katanas but you thought it would be perfect for you, you could carry it everywhere and it was pretty cute.

'wait but why would I need this . . . Unless!'

"Master Splinter, are you thinking about training me?"

you look like a kid on freaking Christmas, you would always try to convince Leo to let you but Master Splinter is giving you the opportunity.

"Yes, I feel that it would be a good idea." he grins at your excited face.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you" you hug him.

He pats your head, letting out a chuckle.

"Just so you are aware I will be the one teaching you, I am very strict and will only expect the best from you"

You nod and jump up in joy.

"There is one more thing I wish for you to have" he got up and had a box in his hand.

"April has a fan as her weapon, since her Psychic power allows her to call it back to her it fit her perfectly, I wish to give you something just incase you lose your weapon."

He opens the box and you see a hair pin

"yes and Very Lethal when In the hands of a well trained Kunoichi" he added

"It belonged to my wife" he added looking at it lovingly

'He gave April the fan he wanted to give to his daughter, now he's giving me this'

"M-Master I don't think I can-"

Interrupting you he said with a clear and gentle voice.

"Take it, I would rather have someone use it then let it collect dust, you can think of it as an early birthday gift"

He got up to put the other weapons away and you take the Hair pin to the shrine of his wife and child.

"I promise to make good use of your hair pin Ms. Hamato" you say closing your eyes and saying a prayer.

"You are a very kind and gentle Girl by nature but when provoked it awakens a fire in your eyes, like how a panda bear is loved by all and people often forget its still a bear"

the way he explained it sounded funny and you laugh at his analogy.

you both talk for a long while before you try out the Tanto splinter gave you, he showed you how to wield it properly. You get the hang of the basics after a while.

"Were back!, (Y/n) We got pizza" said an eager Mikey

you pop your head from the dojo.

"Give me a sec, I'm in the middle of something!" you yell back.

They turn to look at each other and swiftly make there way to the dojo were they see you and Master Splinter finishing up some basic training.

"Master, what's going on" A concerned Leo asked.

"is she", started Raph before getting cut off by Mikey.

"She's ganna be a NINJA!" Mikey Yelled.

"b-but why" said a weary Donnie.

'there acting like its the end of the world . . .' you roll your eyes and continue.

"I made this decision, She is gentle yes and right now weak"

"She showed promise, she was able to touch me while evading my attacks as she did before with the foot"

'I'm not all that useless thank you very much' you humm to your self.

"She will train under me and join in on the session I have with April, ive already made up my mind and so has she" He says leaving the dojo.

"(y/n) we shall start tomorrow"

you're left with the brothers all staring at you in disbaleafe.

"This means, we can all go out once you get stronger right" said Mikey walking to you with arms open.

you Run out the dojo trying your hardest not to let Mikey hug you.

when he took you to the lab it ended the game you and Mikey had going on.

He was silent for a bit and then asked in a sadish yet a little angry tone.

he said not turning to face you.

"Why did you agree to train under Splinter" he said noticeably irritated.

"Its what I've been bugging Leo for, So when Master Splinter offered i said yes".

'I'm sorry was I suppose to ask you guys permission?' you think getting a little irritated your self.

"You didn't have to, I-I no We would protect you"

you look at Donnie's back and think back to the night of the attack.

"No, you cant" you said sternly.

"w-what".

this made him turn around.

"WHAT do you mean we cant!.

"There are going to be times were I'm working, at school, at home, day or night, you cant be there every second of every minute in my everyday life Donnie!"

You say poking at his plaster.

"wa- but.."

what you said seemed to catch him off guard.

you turn in anger not wanting to face him.

"I'm So Sick and Tired Of getting beat up and Being Scared of going home, I've Had To Deal With that My Whole Life, i just want to be strong for once"

3 Years before she came to newyork

you were 13 and still living with your mother. you cover your ears as you hear your mother and step father fighting about something.

'stop, just stop already'

you hear the front door close and a car driving away.

you go down to see your mother on her knees.

you take her to the couch were she lay's unconscious. You pick up the broken glass and fix dinner knowing he would be pissed if she didn't cook. You take care of the chores and go back up to studdy, you leave ice and some water for your mom.

you studied to get away from everything. The name calling and bulling at school, the fighting at home and the flames of anger that came with it. You were unhappy so you studied to get away from all the crazy.

'i have to pass this test, if i do they will let me skip a level in school and i can move us somewere safer'

You wanted to get away from your mothers husband, she only remarried because she needed the support. You took every opportunity to show how good you were in academics, if it meant taking one step out of this hell you live in.

One of the nights he came back wasted he went to far and broke your mothers arm, he was going to literally kill her in his intoxicated rage. You run out side trying to stop him but he over powered you and knocked you down making you bleed from the back of your neck.

you say trying to get back up.

you grabbed a baseball bat from the garage and smacked him so hard over the head it broke partly and he fell. You drop the bat mostly from the pain in your arms, you go over to your mom and help her inside.

You called the police and they put him in the car, after getting what happened down they look at both you and your mother.

you were in the hospital you were patched up and your mother was in critical condition. All you could think about was the bill.

You went home leaving your mother at the hospital, you needed to bring some clothes for you and her.

you hear moving along the floor in front of you, you turn the light on and start to look around.

he came in readdy to attack.

"geez put your tazer down, its an animal? here see"

He puts the tazer away and looks at what your pointing at, the other officer came in with gloves on.

"well i'll be dambed, its one of those Fennec Foxes. this ones just a baby maybe 5 months old"

He picked up the fox and looked around.

"so that's how you came in" he said closing the basement window.

"This one can be domesticated, especially since this ones just a pup".

your eyes glow at the beautiful fox, you touch it and get a purr in response.

"Mr. Officer, sir can i keep the baby fox?"

he looked at you and then back at the fox.

"the way you are now and how small it is i don't think so"

you look at him with sad eyes.

"How about this, i take care of him for 5 months and then ill give him to you when its bigger, you can visit as often as you like"

"REALLY SIR" you say with a smile.

"sir is that ok" the other officer said.

He shrugs and takes you to the hospital.

"you ok, cuz you kind of blew up"

you walk away from the door and sit on the bed.

"wanna talk about it" Mikey said sitting on the floor meeting your gaze.

"I just don't want to be helpless, I don't think my actions need to be checked by everyone"

you said point blank earning a clap from Raph and a shocked look by Mikey and Leo.

He high fives you and then leaves the room saying.

"were just worried about your safety is all" Leo says face palming.

He pauses and then nods understanding that you couldn't be convinced other wise.

"Well if you ever need help we'll be here whether it be training or just to talk" he leaves the room.

you drop your gaze and Mikey was still looking at you.

"ugh, Fine I wont dodge this time".

He smiled and hugged you then left.

You take a moment and get up going back to the lab, you wanted to apologies to Donnie for getting so upset and yelling.

you open the door to the lab to see Donnie slumped on his chair muttering to himself, he gets up as if he made up his mind about something and sees you standing there.

"(Y/n) i thought you were in your room"

you walk over to him not making eye contact.

you were interupted by Donnie.

"you don't have to" he looks at you.

you look up in suprise.

" It was wrong of me to say we would protect you, you were right we cant be with you every second, Learning how to protect your self is logically the best thing, I guess I was just worried about you is all"

he said putting his hand on your sholder.

"Donnie, im sorry for yelling at you"

you say looking into his eyes shyly.

'god why is it always so hard to talk to him'

His reply was a pat on the head.

"Hey I know its a little early but I made you something"

he pulls your hand and you follow his lead, He handed you a box wrapped with a white bow.
