"So, Rue-chan and Agito-kun, will have this room and the room next to it. Tomorrow, I'll be training you, Agito and I'll show Rue-chan where the fourth company barracks are," said Yoruichi. She opened up both rooms for us to look in. One room was red, orange, and yellow which Rue walked into and the other was blue, green, and purple which I claimed.
"Shouldn't we be in the Academy?" asked Rue. Now that I think about it, why would Yoruichi train me even if I don't know how to even hold a sword?
"The Academy starts two months from now so we have time for me to train Agito on close combat and strength."
"What about Rue? I don't think that the fourth company would appreciate it if Rue, who is a newly sworn in Shinigami, to be trying to learn how to heal," I say.
"Rue doesn't have to train how to heal to know how to. She can watch and study them on how they do it. After our training, i'll train Rue how to weild a sword along with you." I nodded my head in agreement before observing my room.
It was a traditional japanese bedroom, bamboo flooring with rice paper walls. There was a single wardrobe off to the side where undoubtedly, her bedding would be tucked away. Luckily, I was given a room with patio privileges, the sliding doors were open showing a willow tree at the edge of a pond with multiple bamboo shoots rising from the surface.
"Follow me to dinner, I can't eat it all myself!" called Yoruichi. I walked out of my room the same time as Rue and we followed Yoruichi down the maze of corridors towards a dining room. There was a long table piled high with food. There was only one problem. Meat. There was meat everywhere. I could feel my face turning green at the smell of it and Rue covered her nose.

"Welcome! Welcome! Eat as much food as you want! My name is Shinjo. Please tell me if you wish for a different dish." Rue and I politely sat down but didn't dare touch anything. There was literally nothing here to eat! When I glanced at Yoruichi, I did a double take cause meat was disappearing from the table into her motuh like a vacuum!
"Why aren't you eating? This stuff is good!" she says in bewteen bites.
"Rue and I are vegetarians," a hunk of bone spews out of her mouth in shock and I caught it on it's flight towards my face.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN VEGETARIAN?!"
"Yes! How can you not eat meat? Don't all slum dogs eat meat?" asks the chief. I glared at the chief and he cowered.
"I guess all of Soul Society is stuck up bitches," I say loud enough for everyone to hear. The dinner service stopped and everyone stared at me.
"How rude as to speak in such fowl language in front of her-" Yoruichi's hand shot up to stop a maid from talking.
"Shinjo, I'm sure you can make delicious food for vegetarians right? Mayu, let Agito voice her own opinions." The chief nodded and swiftly left the room. The maid just scowled at me but kept her mouth shut.
"I'm sorry Agito-san, Rue-chan, he shouldn't have said that."
"It's fine. Guess I have to get used to all this judging going around." She glares at me.
"You should follow your own advice Agito."
"I'm a street rat, a slum dog, do you think I'm not going to meet anyone like Byakuya or the chief when I'm here? Everyone is going to look down on me until I claw my way to the top." She looked at me strangely.

"What is your goal? Where is this top you're aiming at?"
"The top is the highest hank of honor-"
"Taichou?"
"No, Taichous could be the most disrespected person in Soul Society but as long as they have authority, they will be obeyed. I want to have respect so that people don't look at my past. I want them to look at me." Her eyes widened. The chief returned with a vegetarian dish and looked sheepish.
"I beg your forgiveness, we don't have any vegetables or fruits to make a sutible meal. We only have meat and rice which is cooking now." I nodded my head and started eating my food. Rue thanked the chief politely and ate like a dainty princess. Me? I might have looked like an angry general in a war room. My fork was a weapon on mass destruction and every leaf was an army against me.
"Agito, the plant did nothing to you. Stop torturing it," Rue said humously.
"I've been thinking..."
"You shouldn't be doing something so dangerous Agito," Rue mumbled but I heard her. I shot her a glare but continued, "I was thinking on how we can teach Byakuya about sacrifice?"
She paused from her eating before wiping her mouth and giving me her attention.
"We have to teach him how we always teach others. We shouldn't make a special exception for him just because he's a noble."
"Yes but because he's a nobleman that we might have to change it."
"If his life is threatened we'll step in but if not then we'll teach him," Rue replied evenly, stating with her tone that the conversation was finished.
"I just don't want all of Soul Society to come after us if we kill him."
"Wait a minute, kill who?" Rue and I break out of our conversation to look at Yoruichi.
"This is an 'A' and 'B' conversation so 'C' your way out before 'D' jumps over 'E' and 'F's you up like a 'G'." I made a shoo motion with my hands by Rue slapped my hands down.
"Be nice to our host Agito! We were just discussing whether or not to change our teaching ways with Byakuya-san."
"What's your normal teaching ways?"
"Mostly hands on, which means that since Byakuya will be trained in sacrafice, we'll have to create a situation that'll force him to sacrafice-"
"No, force him to protect. Sacrafice is something you lose in order to gain. Byakuya must learn to protect others through sacrafice," I cut in. Rue nodded in agreement while Yoruichi looked intreged.
"And how did you learn this important lesson in life?" I looked at Rue and Rue looked back at me.
"I don't know. It was just ... there I guess. An instinct of mine to sacrifice everything for everyone I care about and the people around me." Rue looked thoughtful, her eyes racing in her thought process.
"I think ... when we were alive ... Agito learned to sacrafice for me and I learned sacrafice from her." Her hand went up and grasped her head in pain. I passed a cup of water towards Rue and she sipped.
"I'll just tell you two straight up that they only way to get through to Byakuya's thick skull is to bash it into his brain. You gotta drag him down to your level before tearing apart everything he thought as true and replacing it with your lesson." I smirked. Rue giggled. I got a feeling that I'm going to love this lesson.
