You sat on the bed with your head laid in the palm of your hands. Finding out that you were a soul was scary and confusing at first, but now you were curious. After all, Kotetsu's question really stuck with you. How did you die and why weren't you able to find out until now that you were a dead man walking? Did you die in some accident or were you murdered? Whatever the cause was, you wanted to find out on your own and not through the others. A few loud knocks pulled you back to reality. You looked to the door and saw Orihime standing in the entrance.
"Are you alright, you could use some lighting in here." She flipped a switch and the room was well-lit. "All that darkness made you look like a vampire." She joked. You smiled at her corny efforts, it was nice to know that she cared. "Do you want to talk about what happened earlier at the Seireitei?"
"It's alright, I made up my mind."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm going to find out what happened to me because so far none of this makes sense. You can join me if you want."
"I think we should just wait. You don't know where to start, you'll be going into this with no clue."
"They don't have clues either."
"They have more resources."
"I want more control over this situation rather than having to wait, biting my fingernails in anticipation, wondering what they discovered. I want to be the first to know about who and what I am. What if it was something I didn't want to be known? What if it turns out I'm an enemy from the past so they try to kill me, even though I'm a new person?" You left the room but she followed you, begging you to stop.

"What if you get hurt looking for answers and don't come back this time?" She tried to grab at your clothing but you broke free from her grip every time. "If you do this, they'll think you're a threat and possibly trap you here using kidō."
"Goodbye for now, Orihime." You pushed her back enough to put space between the two of you, shutting the door on your way out of the shop.
"What do you think you're doing?" You turned around only to be faced by a captain with black hair and cold grey eyes.

Living With Magic
Arthur, a young magician, is struggling with crippling social anxiety. The issue has reached a point where he likely won't graduate from University. Reaching a crossroads, he must decide whether to try and return to a family he despises or make his own path in the world. Is the magical power he has actually beneficial in the real world? Authors Note: I'm terrible at writing a synopsis, but over time I hope to write a better one. One of my favorite series of books is the Magicians by Lev Grossman and I hope to follow that same line of thinking within my story. How would a society built around magic actually exist and is power and magic actually as great as other stories make it out to be? The story and characters will be completely original and I will try to update the story on a regular basis. Also, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
