"The alarm..." Kaoru murmured, waking to a loud beeping sound. "Make it stop,"

Hikaru groaned and slowly rose up, pressing the alarm clock. He flopped back down after, eyes closing instantly. Kaoru closed his eyes, too, and tried to doze off again but it was no use.

Hikaru wasn't really asleep either, but he really wanted to be. He ran a hand through his hair and counted his breaths. After today, only one day left of freedom.

Kaoru tapped his arm and pointed out the window.

"Hey," He whispered, "it is sunny out today,"

Hikaru smiled at his brother. "Yeah, I see. Wish I were sleeping, though,"

Kaoru nodded, scrunching his eyes closed and smushing a pillow over his head. Hikaru laughed and pulled it away, sitting up and jerking Kaoru up, too.

"Now what do we do?" They wondered together. "Only one day left,"

They both stared out the window for a while, each thinking about what school would be like.

"So that Fujioka girl," Hikaru said, "what was up with her, anyway?"

Kaoru shrugged, flipping off the covers and pulling a shirt over his bare chest.

"She seemed pretty strange, I mean... To guess right about our clothes sizes?" He stated, recurring back to the whole affair at Kawaii.

Hikaru nodded, frowning. He got out of bed, too, and started changing. They both pulled on matching white shirts and jeans, adding a few bracelets, too.

"So what do we do today?"

Haruhi woke up with her back aching, like usual. Her bed wasn't exactly comfortable.

She looked at her watch and jumped with suprise. She was late. She could've overworked yesterday... That was probably why she was so tired.

Stretching, Haruhi rushed to her bag of clothes and pulled out her work apron. She slipped on a short red dress and tied the apron on behind her back.

Haruhi had always worn any clothes that crossed her path. She never cared if it clashed, she just needed something to cover up the important parts.

She pulled on her white flats and sat down on her table to rest a little more.

God, she was hungry. She hadn't eaten in two days, and needed food. Work had always provided free employee breakfast buffets, but most people had taken her share before she got there.

Haruhi raised her hand to her forehead, feeling flush. She must be getting sick.

Brushing the thought aside, she stood again and grabbed her bag. Then, she walked out of her house and off to work.

The twins decided to go to some place called '' for breakfast. They'd heard it was a fancy diner, and served amazing courses.

They weren't looking for a super expensive place, because they wanted to end their vacation relaxed.

They pulled up in their limo and walked to the door.

Kaoru walked in first, taking in the sights of the cute place. Hikaru followed him.

It was a nice place to eat. There were posters of food on the walls, and it smelled wonderful. The menu had everything they loved, too.

They both walked over to a small table in the back. There was a cool light fixture that possessed them over. They sat, and talked to each other about how horrible this place was, even though they were thinking the opposite.

"You won't get to order anything with that attitude," A familiar voice spoke.

Hikaru and Kaoru jumped and turned around quickly. They spotted Haruhi in front of them, looking at them weirdly.

The twins just looked from her and then back to eachother. They couldn't believe they were seeing her again! This girl... She must get around.

Hikaru was the first to recover. He rolled his eyes and nudged Kaoru's arm. "Who are you, our mother? We can order whenever we want." He said. Kaoru nodded in agreement.

They were both staring at her up and down. They liked the color dress she was wearing. Hikaru caught himself thinking things he'd never thought before, and bashed them from his mind instantly, blushing. Kaoru saw this and held back laughter.

Haruhi frowned.

"No you won't. I'm your waitress, so I get to decide when you get to order... and when your food comes out." She said.

They jumped, eyes growing wide. Both of them were starving! They couldn't wait two hours for breakfast.

"I'm kidding, geniouses." Haruhi sighed. She was clutching her stomach, and occasionally grimmacing in pain.

"Ah..." Kaoru said, confused.

She shook her head and turned around. waving as she left.

Kaoru stood, Hikaru following him. They went to the bathroom, and Kaoru slapped Hikaru's arm.

"What was that fo-"

"Listen! Did you see how thin she was? That girl's starving herself. What do we do?" Kaoru inturrupted him.

Hikaru blinked at him, surprised.

"Since when do you care so much?" he asked.

Kaoru shrugged. "I don't really. Everything's just... changed since she's come. And I don't want anyone to die because of lack of food!"

Hikaru had actually been thinking the exact same thing. Ever since that girl came along at the clothing store, he and Kaoru hadn't been... as in synch latley. Surprisingly, it didn't bother him as much as he thought it would.

"Yeah," Hikaru replied, "her starving herself is pretty bad. What do you want to do?"

Kaoru shrugged. "We'll think of something," He said.

They walked out of the bathroom and sat back down at their table, eyeing Haruhi every time they could.

Kaoru noticed that she was flushed, and Hikaru saw how off balance she was. She must be really sick, and they needed to get her some food fast.

"Hey, Waitress?" They both waved rudley, getting her attention.

She wobbled over and said, "I have a name, you know."

They ignored that.

"Hey, can we get you a sandwich or something? You look sick," They continued.

Her big chocolate eyes shot open wider at the thought of food, and she seemed kind of shocked at them offering.

"I thought you hated me," She said, gawking.

"Oh.... well, we don't like you, but we don't want you to pass out because your hungry," Kaoru said casually- on the verge of sounding rude.

Haruhi grinned, but then hesiated.

"Hey, you," Hikaru snapped, "It's now or never. We won't waste our money on you if you don't say anything,"

Haruhi quickly stammared a thank you and took their orders, returning later with a huge platter filled with all kinds of food.

She was off balance-- really off balance. Her tiny frame was nearly collapsing under the weight of it.

She almost threw it on the table, but somehow managed to set it down politely.

The twins took their food and began chomping on it in unison. Haruhi picked up her sandwich, but turned white before she could take a bite. Her mind became fuzzy, and everything became hazy around her.

"Hey, are you okay?" They asked her.

She managed a nod, and then stood, grabbing her bag that was sliding down her shoulders.

"J-just need some fresh air," She stammered, catching herself before she almost tripped.

The twins looked at eachother, then back at her, rolling their eyes in defeat and jumping up after her.

They followed her outside, watching her sway each step she took. When she had made it past '', she became ridged and froze. It almost was in slow mo to the twins when she passed out cold and crashed hard onto the ground. They just stood there, shocked.

Then, Hikaru ran to her and flipped her over to see blood dripping down her face from her nose. She was as cold as ice to his warm touch, and wasn't responding to anything he did to try and wake her.

Kaoru called 911, and stammered everything that had happened.

There was no crowd, because everyone was either sleeping or in a store.

The ambulance came a few minutes later and saw Haruhi laying there.

"Hey, kid, get away from her!" The doctor yelled at Hikaru. He scrambled away from her and yelped.

The team of doctors lifted her up and attatched some wires and tubes on her arms and through her nose.

"You're the ones who called us?" The doctor asked harshly.

They nodded, trembling.

He pointed to some chairs in the ambulance and told them to get in.

Reluctanly they got in and sat down, both pale as ghosts.

Then, the doors closed and the vehicle screeched off, sirens wailing.

"Now you two," Doctor said, "tell me everything. This girl is very unstable, and we need to know exactly what happened,"

Kaoru wrinkled his eyebrows in confusion.

"But I told you what happened already," He said.

"Son, repeat it," Doctor replied dangerously.

The twins nodded and began their story.

They felt really guilty-- one because they didn't catch her when she fell, and two because she never did get her sandwich...
