《Meeting the Gangleader》Chapter 7

*Brittany's P.O.V*
I wake up to my alarm clock blaring.
I quickly roll out of bed, careful not to wake Karly up, and turn it off.
I yawn, and walk in to the bathroom to pee.
Once I'm done, I go and get dressed for school.
I'm not really in a good mood since it's Monday, so I end up picking out a tight pink t-shirt, and black leggings.
I match my outfit with black combat boots, and pull on a black hoodie.
I walk back in to the bathroom, and brush my hair out.
Why is my hair so staticky?
I sigh, and pull my hair up in to a high ponytail.
I brush my teeth, and put on foundation to cover the bruises left by my father, and some light mascara.
Happy with my appearance, I walk back in to my room, and check my phone. I have one new text from an unknown number. I open it.
I smile at my phone and put his number in my contacts, knowing it's Adam.
I quickly type a reply.
Hey, I can at least tease him a little, right?
I walk over to my bed and gently shake Karly.
"Wake up, it's time to go to school." I say gently.
She rolls over and mumbles something incoherently.
I laugh and shake her once more.
"Kar. Up."I say, a little more strictly.
She sits up in bed and rubs her eyes.
She stretches, and gives me the deadliest look she can.
I, of course, just laugh at her.
She sighs, and rolls out of my bed, getting ready.
I walk downstairs, leaving her alone so she can get ready without me being a distraction.
I know how difficult it can be getting ready alone, let alone with an unwanted pest there.

I sit on the couch, and turn the tv on, not really paying attention to what's on.
I scroll through my instagram and suddenly I get another text from Adam.
I open it.
I just smile and type a reply.
I get a reply instantly.
My heart flutters, and I click my phone off, not knowing what to say.
"Kar, hurry up, we have to leave soon!" I yell up to her.
I hear her scramble down the stairs, and laugh when she comes in to the living room with her hands full.
"It's only 7:20! Why do we have to leave so soon?" She questions annoyed.
I smile awkwardly.
"Uhm... Someone is taking us..." reply slowly.
"The guy you were with Saturday night?" She says, smirking.
I just smile.
We walk in to the kitchen and grab a box of cereal, eating it fast so we won't be late.
We walk in to the living room just as we finally hear a car horn.
Grabbing my book bag that's on the couch beside me, I walk out of the house, with Karly trailing behind me.
We get in the car and I look over at him.
"Thanks for the ride." I say, quietly.
He just nods in response.
He pulls out of our driveway, and I feel him put his hand on my thigh.
I feel myself blush and my thigh starts to tingle.
Suddenly my phone vibrates.
I sigh and lock my phone, glaring at her through the rear view mirror.
When we arrive at our school, I go to get out, but he lightly touches my shoulder.
"Hey." He mumbles shyly.
I laugh and look at him.
"Hi." I say.
He leans in a little closer.
"Since I drove you, can I get a thank you kiss?"He says bluntly.

I just blush as Karly hurriedly gets out of the car.
I lightly peck his lips.
"That's not a kiss!" He complains as I get out of the car, but I just shut the door with a smile.
Then I turn around and walk side by side with Karly in to the hell hole called school.
"Didn't look like you barely knew him," she says teasingly as she takes off down the hallway to her class.
---------
This is a little longer than before.
It still sucks.
I know I know.
I'm trying to fix it.
Imm call you my lovely gang members.
Get it?
Cause this is a gang book, so I'm the gang leader and my readers are all members of my gang?
HAHAHAHAHA.
Sorry, I thought I was cool.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
