《He calls me Angel》36. Pane, burro e marmellata

Pure fluff, cause I needed this in my life!

Pane, burro e marmellata, literally means: bread, butter and jam. Just thought of putting it out there!

xo, Dear J

Warm breath against skin, legs tangled together and sheets hanging off the bed on the floor.

It was the third time I tried to get off the bed, but each and every time I was pulled back by my guardian, keeping me under his body in his bed. Without a care in the world, he attacked my skin with his soft lips.

My lips tingled, soft and tender. His were as well, but he wouldn't let up, stubborn as he was.

Instead, he found a more comfortable position in between my legs, hiking my knees over his hips, as his lips kissed a trail down my neck to my collarbone.

"Brandon... let's take a pau-- ugh, fuck," he bit the skin, making moans erupt from my lips. "Aren't you even a bit tired?"

"Baby, I train eleven hours a day. This was barely warm-up."

My eyes grew wide, the tell-tales of his movements obvious, as he started kissing down my chest, over my stomach. "Wait, what?"

He chuckled instead, coming up to face my startled eyes. "I'm kidding, Angel," he said with that teasing smirk. "Sort of."

We couldn't stop all throughout the night. In the moments we did, it was because exhaustion had caught up with me, sleeping a few hours, before one of us was teasing the other again. It was late afternoon by now, and we were still attached to each other.

"Let's take a bath, baby."

A bath sounded wonderful, but I wasn't sure my legs could carry me anywhere right now.

Detaching his body from mine, Brandon vanished into his en-suite, giving me a few moments to strategize: How do legs work?

The sound of water broke the silence, and soon steam filled the bathroom all the way to his room, but I was still lying on my back unable to move.

"Are you coming?" he asked from the door, his eyes doing a quick scan of my body.

"Yeah, just... give me a minute."

He was naked, ready to get inside, but instead he neared my lying form. I cursed under my breath, when he hovered over me.

"What's wrong, baby?"

Trying to reign the last glimpses of dignity left in my body, I tried to sit on the bed, rip the fucking band-aid, when a surging pain radiated through my body.

"What's wrong?" He asked again, more alert this time.

"'m sore..." I whispered, hating how vulnerable I felt in that moment.

I had to become more active, because this man was a beast. It wouldn't be long before he consumed me entirely.

"Oh, God, shit, I'm sorry. Let me..." he didn't finish his sentence, before I was scooped in his strong embrace.

With sure steps, he took me inside the bathroom, settling inside the bathtub with me in his arms. Warm water embraced the both of us, making small content sighs escape my lips, as I closed my eyes.

Our day continued like this, with lazy kisses, teasing touches, until hunger caught up to me.

Feeling bolder after I got a few hours of sleep, I tip-toed down the stairs to Brandon's kitchen, wearing a shirt he left hanging around in his bedroom.

It still smelled like him; linen with the familiar musk I came to love.

I thanked my lucky stars he was asleep; if not, I'd still be entangled with him under his insatiable body. This gave me enough time to explore his kitchen.

I was craving something sweet, so, satisfied with the ingredients in his pantry, I started preparing a classic vanilla ciambella.

As I waited for the cake to bake, I munched on some pane, burro e marmellata; classic bread, butter and jam. On a wooden tray I prepared a plate for Brandon as well, accompanied by two mugs of piping hot brewed coffee: one with milk for me and one strong black coffee for him.

I was ready to head upstairs when I heard footsteps behind me.

With a grin on my face, I turned around ready to face the bedhead that was Brandon King in the morning, only to freeze in place.

Green eyes stared daggers at me and I was caught off guard; this wasn't how they looked at me.

But instead of my guardian, there by the door was standing a stunning woman; at first sight she was his very believable copy.

Long black waves framed her beautiful face, making her eyes pop. Her hands were locked defensively in front of her chest as she stared down at me; she was frustratingly taller than me.

"I can't believe I have to do this, right now..." she said under her breath, before pushing off the wall she was leaning on.

She took a few steps closer, settling her elbows on the counter as she continued to look at me from across the room.

"Just when I thought he wasn't getting any..." she chuckled, inspecting her black colored nails, before she continued. "Are you sure you're supposed to be here?"

I tried to hide the small grin on my face, but this was so amusing for me.

She had no idea.

"Where else was I supposed to be?" I humored her, taking a comfortable seat on the counter stool.

"Well, I don't mean to be rude, but-"

"Usually when someone starts with that sentence, it's so that they can be deliberately rude."

"Fine," she scoffed. "Aren't you supposed to leave after a one-night-stand? Or, I don't know... Wait for him to call you back in a hotel he's paying, or something? This is our family home, so..."

"I'm gonna stop you right there, before this gets any more awkward," I said with a sigh. "You must be Mia, right?"

Her eyes widened, resembling a deer caught in headlights and no longer her crass self from a minute ago.

"I'm Erika. And me and Brandon are actually dating."

"Wait- You're... You are?" She took a step back, before she continued under her breath. "So, mom wasn't kidding?"

"Well... we haven't told anyone yet, but I'm pretty sure the people closest to us knew before we did."

Mia was still processing, when Brandon's footsteps came through the threshold.

"Something smells so good, Angel-," he stopped in his tracks, when he saw his sister standing across from him. "Bambi? When did you get back?"

A smile grew on my face; somehow the nickname suited her.

He walked up to her, welcoming her back with a big bear-hug. Mia hugged him as well, although reluctantly for a few seconds, before she pushed him back. Still, the sentiment was there.

Chuckling, Brandon came by my side. I melted like butter, not realizing I was tense all along, when his arms wrapped around my body from behind.

"Morning Angel," he breathed against my pulse, hiding his face in the crook of my neck as he placed soft kisses on my skin.

"Mornin'," I said back, even though it was already dark outside.

My cheeks tinted a warmer tone of pink at his public display, but I reciprocated with a kiss on his cheek.

"Would you like some breakfast?" I asked Mia as I was preparing a plate with bread, butter and jam for her. "There's also fresh coffee."

"It's almost dinner time," she said quietly, avoiding my eyes, but still taking a bite.

"It doesn't matter. Coffee is sacred in this household," Brandon said with a chuckle, moving away from my neck but still holding me tightly to his chest. "How was your flight, Mia?"

"It was fine. Thanks for giving me a heads-up about your girlfriend, by the way. I almost called her a slut."

She said as a matter of fact, trying to hide her ire and embarrassment behind a soft chuckle.

"What?" Poor choice of words, if Brandon's reaction was anything to go by.

His glare was piercing, his hold on my body stronger.

Anyone with basic surviving instincts would be careful of their next words because, like a jaguar, he was ready to pounce.

I have finally created an account. You can catch up with any story updates there, or just say hi, if you want!

@your_dear_joanna

Yours, Dear Joanna.

PS: will be once and on special occasions a week. I decided, it's not wise to leave you guys on cliffhangers for extended periods of time. So, although I updated this week on Monday, you get this early update tonight as well.

I will try and give you updates on , and then again on , when the time permits.

I hope I can keep this up for the time being, but I will give you a head's up, when it becomes trickier for me to update.
