《The Truth Untold (Poems)》Shadow/skeleton/soul

Sometimes I wonder

But I always come back

Because I know I'm not ready to deal with you,

my shadow,

my awaiting shadow.

I let myself stay wrapped up in your deceit

I let you tell me what I'm not worth

I let you stomp me into the dirt

I keep myself locked up in the dark

When the light peeks in

Sometimes I wonder

But I always come back.

my shadow,

my awaiting shadow.

The light is supposed to shine on me

But all it does is burn me

Scars, after scars

I've wanted to make amends

But I can't

Why is it so hard?

Sometimes I wonder

But I always come back

There's a girl that walks in

She's the only one with the key

She always wanders in

She always reaches for my hand

I never lift my head, or my hand

She waits for me

She says look at me

She knows that I can't

She says I'm what you wish to have

Just look at me

Here's your truth

I'm too afraid because she's the only one of us that's telling the truth.

But I still take a peek at her

And Instantly I'm filled with fear

I'm so afraid

She's a skeleton of what I use to be

I'm what you created us to be

You don't know who you are

You've lost your yourself

You succumbed to your negative thoughts

This is what we've become

Yeah you wonder, but you never wandered

Now look at you

You've been burned by your own light

The light that was made to help you

And now we're dying

you let our shadow disappear.

now i'm afraid.

Because you can't even help you

This has become your truth

You are me, and I am you.
