Bella opened the door of her and Aro's shared chambers, peaking out to see if any guard is stationed at the chamber doors. A tap on her shoulder made her jump.
She found a grining James standing with his hand clasped behind his back. "Mistress Isabella, how nice to see you," he said with the same grin. Bella sighed in relaxation.
"Bella would suffice, James," Bella replied. "But where is the grace in Bella which is present in Mistress Isabella?" He asked, his grin turning into a smirk.
Bella huffed, realizing she is not going to get what she wanted. "I wish to go and meet Aphrodite," she said. James nodded. "Your wish is my command, my lady," James said, bowing to her.
"You know where she is staying?" Bella asked. James smirked, standing straight at his complete height. "I am completely aware, Mistress." Bella nodded.
"After you, Mistress," James gestured for Bella to start walking. Bella nodded again and started walking with James behind her, watching her like a hawk.
"James," Bella called hesitantly. "Mistress Isabella," James replied in the same tone. "When were you born?" She asked. "I was born in the Victorian Era, my lady," James replied.
"How did you get turned?" Bella queried, staring at him. "My spouse was a vampire, my lady. She offered to turn me so we could live together, forever," James replied honestly.
"Um... your spouse, what happened to her?" Bella asked, frowning. Aro hadn't informed her about James' family. "After she turned me, she found out about my gifts. She wanted to take on Volturi but I... you can say I had some different ideas."
"I don't understand," Bella replied, confused. "Everything will be known in the given time, Mistress Isabella," James replied. His face decorated with an evil smirk.

"We are here, madam," James said before Bella could say anything else. Bella looked around to find herself in front of a pair of duble doors. "Lady Aphrodite is staying here, Mistress."
Bella nodded and knocked on the door, waiting for some sort of come in sign. The door opened and Aphrodite peaked out. She opened the door properly and nodded shyly.
"Mistress Isabella," she nodded again. "Lady Aphrodite," Bella smiled comfortingly. "How can I help you?" Aphrodite asked. "I wish to spend time with you, converse with you," Bella said.
Aphrodite nodded and let Bella come in. Bella turned to look at James who made no effort to follow. "You ladies can converse freely. I will stay outside and protect the chambers," James replied.
Bella was hesitant at first but nodded nevertheless and Aphrodite closed the door. Both the ladies stood awkwardly for a while. "Please sit, Mistress Isabella," Aphrodite said, her head hanging low.
"Bella would suffice," Bella said, walking to the chairs in the corner of the room and sitting on it. "Please come and join me," Bella said, gesturing to the empty chair beside her.
Aphrodite nodded and walked to Bella, sitting down on the chair. "So, Aphrodite, when were you born?" Bella asked, curiously. "I was born in the Caroline Era in Scotland," Aphrodite replied.
"I guess I am the youngest vampire in this whole castle," Bella muttered under her breath and groaned. Aphrodite chuckled lightly. "When were you born?" Aphrodite asked.
"I was born on September 13, 1987," Bella replied. "Really?" Aphrodite's jaw dropped. "Yeah." Bella chuckled nervously. "Wow! That's awesome," Aphrodite said, a huge grin breaking on her face.
Bella shrugged on Aphrodite's comment, not sure if she should say something. A comfortable silence surrounded both the ladies.

"Um... Bella... can I ask you something?" Aphrodite asked, her voice hesitant. "Sure, go ahead," Bella said with a comforting smile. "I was wondering... have you ever felt an inferior over here?" Aphrodite queried.
Bella was caught off guard by her question. She stared at Aphrodite with calculative gaze, trying to figure out Aphrodite's intentions behind the question.
"No," Bella lied to both herself and Aphrodite. She knew she belonged there, in Volturi, but there were moments when she felt out of place.
"Oh... it must be me then," Aphrodite whispered, her voice losing her usual cheerfulness. Bella nodded, shifting in the chair. "I am sure you will be fine after you spend some time here," Bella replied.
Aphrodite nodded and gave Bella a small smile. Bella stood up from her chair, Aphrodite following her actions. "I shall be going now. I don't want to worry Aro by disappearing suddenly," Bella said.
Aphrodite nodded and the ladies hugged each other. Bella went for the door knob when Aphrodite called her name. Bella turned around to face the lady, her hand still on the knob.
"Please visit me again. It felt good to talk to you," Aphrodite said. Bella smiled and nodded, opening the door and closing it behind her. James stood by the door.
"Done already?" James asked. "Yes," Bella replied, starting to walk back to her chambers. "Any place more where your presence is needed, my lady?" James asked, following Bella.
"Not that I am aware of, James," Bella replied. After a small walk, Bella and James reached the desired destination. "Would you like to come inside or just stay outside?" Bella asked, tilting her head to the side.
"I should be staying outside, Mistress. My work requires me to watch for any and all of the dangers which could come to you. The inside is no place for me to stay," James replied. Bella nodded and entered the shared chambers, closing the double doors behind her.
