"You heard me, ma?"
I sighed. "Yes, Angel."
"Man, what's wrong wit' you now?"
"Nothing, I'm just... nothing. Sorry."
"You still stressin' bout this sleep ova' tonight?"
I plopped down on the bed. "Yes."
"You don't have to go, Dri. She ain't show up to yo' shit or tell you happy birthday."
"I know, but that doesn't mean I should do her the same way. She's my friend."
Kenz busted in my room. "No, she ain't. A friend don't treat you the way she done did you."
I've been begging McKenzie to go to this hotel sleepover party thing with me tonight for Dayna's birthday since she was invited. She's been saying no all day, but I'm hoping by the time 7 comes around, she'll have changed her mind.
"You guys, seriously. I'm already stressed out about it, I don't need you guys making it worse."
"Don't get mad at me because your friend is fake as hell."
I sat down on my bed. "McKenzie, can you please just go with me?"
"You want me to slap the bitch in her face? You know me and her just got in an argument the other night. If she says something slick to me, I won't care about fucking her up at her birthday party."
"She never un-invited you, though. Even after the argument."
"I'm un-inviting myself. That's your friend, it'll be fine. I'm not about to put myself in a predicament to have to fight. I just got my nails done, uhn uhn."
Amere poked his head in McKenzie's camera, holding his phone behind Angel so we could all see each other through the phones.
"I got a suggestion." He smacked on his fruit snacks. "How 'bout, me, Angel, and Kenz get a room at the same hotel. You start feelin' like you wanna leave or you start feelin' uncomfortable, just come to the room we at."
Angel and Kenz shrugged and nodded. I figured it wasn't a bad idea either so I agreed. "I guess that can work, too."
"Aight, let me call you back, Dri. We gon' look up some rooms."
"Okay."
"Relax yo'self, aight?"
"Alright."
"Bye, Dri."
"Bye, Mere. Bye, Angel."
Putting my phone down, I waited for Kenz and Amere to hang up before falling backwards on the bed.
"I don't know why you're stressing yourself out over that damn girl." Kenz pursed her lips. "Just like I don't know why you're still friends with her."
"I don't have it in me to do people the way they do me, Mckenzie. You know that."
"Oh trust me, I know. You don't know how to put your foot down, but you'll learn eventually. Not everybody is your friend, not everybody is looking out for you."
I sighed. "I know."

No matter how many times McKenzie- or anybody else for that matter- had this talk with me, I've never been able to do people the way they do me. It's not in my heart, it's not who I am. I have a big, forgiving heart. Sometimes it's a blessing, most of the time, it's a curse.

☹️
I was in the bathroom, staying away from Nicole, Dayna, and her friend she introduced me to, Melani (Meh-lawn-ee).
Melani mseemed pretty cool, but it seemed as if she had other intentions. All in all, I wasn't really enjoying my time here. So many times I just wanted to up and walk out the room, but, again, I don't have it in me to be that rude.
"Do you guys want to a play game?" Dayna smiled as I walked out of the bathroom and back into the living room.
Everyone nodded, I simply shrugged.
"Okay, let's play never have I ever."
We all got into a small circle, holding up both of our hands.
"I'll start." Melani suggested. "Never have I ever gave head."
Nicole and Dayna put a finger down. Next went Nicole.
"Never have I ever fucked with somebody else's boyfriend."
Melani put a finger down. I felt Nicole staring at me as if she was waiting for me to put a finger down, but I wasn't paying the little dummy duck any mind.
If only she really knew. I'll hurt her feelings, she better stop while she's ahead.
I went next. "Never have I ever been delusional over a guy."
Dayna tucked her lips in. She was the only one, other than Nicole, aware of what was going on. But I kept my composure, acting as if I was just going along with the game.
"I'll go again." Melani spoke up. "Never have I ever lied to a guy about my age."
Dayna put her finger down, silently laughing to herself before she went next. "Never have I ever messed with someone that I knew my friend liked."
Dayna and Nicole busted out laughing, and for some reason I felt like shade was being thrown in my direction.
I'll throw a whole tree at both of them if they don't stop playing with me.
"Never have I ever been on drug-"
There was a knock at the door. Dayna got up from the circle with a smirk on her face, walking out of the living room and to the door.
I pulled my phone out seeing a text from McKenzie.

"Wassup, Nicole?"
Looking up, I was a little thrown off when I seen Cedrick walk in and some boy behind him that I didn't pay much attention to.
I was confused because Dayna made it a big deal when Angel said something about coming because it was "a girl's thing". If that's the case, why are they here?

I hadn't talked to him since I caught him lying so that didn't make it any better.
"Can I talk to you?" Cedrick crouched down beside me. I could smell the liquor on his breath.
I sat the cup down that I had in my hand, standing up from the living room floor and going towards the kitchen.
"What is it?"
"What happened wit' us?"
I scoffed. "Nothing happened. You did you, I did me."
"I'm sayin though." He tried to grab my chin, but I pulled away. "Damn it's like that? You just up and block my number one day and then every time I try to talk to you in school, you ignore me."
"So what would make you think I would want to talk to you now?"
"You got up and came in here wit' me, didn't you?" He smirked, making me roll my eyes. "I'on really know what I did, but I apologize for it."
I nodded. "Okay, thanks. Is that all?"
"You think we can be cool again?"
"Sure, we can be friends."
"Aight." I went to walk away until he said something else. "So you and Angel? Y'all a thing now, huh?"
I chuckled. "Who told you that?"
"Nobody gotta tell me. I be seein' y'all wit' each other. It's kind of obvious."
"If it's so obvious, then you really didn't have to ask, did you?" I sent him a smirk before walking back into the living room.
Nobody really knows about Angel and I. Well, they assume, but we've never denied or admitted it. I guess I kind of just did that.
I walked out of the kitchen because I no longer wanted to be around Cedrick, but I didn't want to be around these girls either. I was screwed either way.
Leave, dummy.
Going back into the living room, the boy that came in with Cedrick going out to the balcony with a blunt between his lips.
Picking my cup up, I sipped the Dr. Pepper, scrunching up my face at the weird taste. It must have gotten really flat in that short time.
"What?" I asked Dayna as she stared at me.
She shook her head with a smile. "Nothing. What were you and Cedrick talking about?"
"Nothing important."
"Okayyy..." She drew out. "Anybody want to play spin the bottle?"
"I do." Cedrick cleared his throat, finally coming out of the kitchen.
Dayna looked at me. "Do you wanna-"
"No, I'll pass. I'll watch."
"Come on, you're being a party pooper."
"I'll watch." I said again, a little more sternly so she knew to take me serious.
I don't know what happened, but my suddenly became a lot more relaxed which caused a sense of exhaustion to take over my body.
Feeling my eyes closing as Dayna, Nicole, Melani, and Cedrick continued to play spin the bottle, I heard the balcony sliding glass door close as I let sleep take over my body.
"Why you so exhausted, mama?"
I yawned in Angel's passenger seat. "I don't even know. I feel like I need to sleep for a whole twenty-four hours and then maybe I'll be okay. And I'm hungry as hell."
I had to fast all morning so I could go take this urine drug test to complete my employment at La Vie Pet Salon and Daycare.
They didn't pay much, but I was going to be around animals so that was okay with me. If anything, I'll go back to being a server. The pay isn't good either, but tips were the bomb.
"Afta' this we can go get you somethin' to eat and get you home so you'ca sleep."
I yawned again. "Okay, babe. Can you stay and sleep with me?"
"If you want me to, ma." He glanced over at me. "You want me to?"
"I do."
"I'a do that then."
Pulling up to the LabCorp, Angel and I got up and went inside. I checked in and was called back a few minutes later since there was only two other people in there.
"Here's your cup." The lady handed me a small specimen cup with my name on it. "Wipe with this first and then urinate into the cup. Try to fill it up to at least forty-five milliliters. When done, just put the top back on the cup and don't flush the toilet."
I nodded, taking the cup and the wipe in the bathroom. After finishing up, the lady sealed up my cup and I was sent on my way.
"What you wanna eat, baybeh?"
My stomach growled. "Chick-Fil-A please."
"Aight."
"That shit is fucking disgusting," Kenz gagged after tasting my drink from juice bar.
I laughed. "It's not, you're just dramatic."
She sipped on her water, connecting my phone to the Bluetooth as I pulled out of the parking lot. We had just gotten out of school and I had a craving for juice bar so I had to get it.
My phone began ringing, a number popped that I remembered belonged to the La Vie Pet Salon and Daycare. I motioned for Kenz to answer my phone since it was in her hand and I was driving.
"Hello?"
"Hello, hi."
"Is this Audriana Ibanez?"
"Yes, this is me."
I heard shuffling on the other end of the phone. "Hi, Ms. Ibanez. This is Sandy from La Vie Pet Salon and Daycare. How are you today?"
"I'm doing good, how are you?"
"I'm good thank you." There was more moving again. "I'm calling in regards to your recent urine drug test you took, I believe, this past Saturday."
I nodded as if she could see me. "Okay, yes."
"We would like for you to come in."
"Oh." McKenzie furrowed her eyebrows at me causing me to shrug. "Okay."
"We would like you to re-do the urine sample, if you don't mind."
"Is there a reason why?"
"Uh, yes." Sandy cleared her throat. "You were found positive for Rohypnol."
